While a Dell 946 printer
I downloaded a device driver that was supposed to be compatible with the device and Windows 7 64-bit. It will not install and so I can't use this device as a printer. I can use it as a scanner, copier, but not as a printer. I have not tested the fax part yet although I'm sure it will work if I feed him the docs from the feeder rather than from my computer.
Your best resource is the manufacturer of the device. In the end, they are responsible for compatibility with operating system issues.

As noted by Richard G. Harper, try to print the test page and check if the printer works fine or not.
Method 1:
Maybe it's that the printer drivers have been corrupted. I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and see if the problem is resolved.
Note: Uninstall the driver and the software that is installed on the system.

Error cartridge on the Dell 946 printer all in one
I get an error "cartridge #1203" and I can't understand what it is. I replaced the cartridges, restarted the printer, tried new cartridges, etc... and I don't know what means this error. any ideas?
Error 1203 is an interesting error code. Here's what I discovered on error 1203
It is average your cartridges of overflow of nine cartridges after a several impressions or all after you filled cartridges. Check to see if the ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the cartridge. I have the same problem which I think lexmark has a problem and forget.
Solution:
I use the klennex with a few drops of water to moisten and cleanse back them on my printer work and support.
The charging of ink work very well if you let it sit 24 hours. Then before you print anything, you must run aligned the cartridges once or twice then run once or twice cleaning cartridges.
Print the test page to see how it's look and the way you're going.
Be sure to not leave the debris of the klennex on the door panel.To reset the error code, unplug the power cord to the wall. Also remove the power brick to the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Then connect everything again.
Dell series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor to them that cannot be reset. Article on Dell ink cartridges filling .
Dell series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Wal-Mart or any Dell website.

I downloaded the driver, but he went in a Dell folder on the C drive and I have no idea how to go read/install the driver in the right place to allow the computer communicate with the printer to the computer. Dell 946 AIO printer is not on the list provided by the automatic installation.

Pilots should be there. Double-click the drivers and it should try to install. If not, look for the configuration file in the unzipped folder.

Dell 1720dn printer, how do I reset to DHCP for IP fixed
I have a Dell 1720dn printer connected as a network suspended my modem/router printer and with a fixed IP address.
I changed just my ISP and don't have a fixed IP and therefore need to change my printer to enable DHCP.
I see no way to do another that uninstalling and reinstalling the printer... or am I missing something?

If you always access the printer web server you can change the DHCP IP address in network settings. Otherwise I would try a factory reset the printer and it should return to the DHCP:
Turn the printer off
Open the access cover to the printer
While you press and hold the continue and cancel re - turn on the printer
NOTE: the lights will be put a few times
After the error light turns on and stays on
Release the continue and Cancel buttons
Close the access cover

I was extremely upset with this problem and it seems that there are tons of discussions but none of the solutions work for me.
I have a Dell AIO 946.
Windows 7 64-BIT fully updated
I installed win 7 64 driver (5 or 6 times now)
Prints perfectly fine, when I want to Dells Aioc.exe I get the AIOC has stopped working.
I tried the new installation after using the same thing Cleanup utility.
usb ports modified, usb ports set to not go to sleep to save power
The player is R145441 on dell site.

Here's what fixed it in case someone needs to know
Right click on my computer
Go to the properties
on the left side, click on advanced system settings
Under performance, click settings
On the Data Execution Prevention tab
Select turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select
Then add
Then navigate to the folder c:\program Dell AIO printer 946\ printer Dell
Add all of the files that are displayed
There was some prob 8 of them... then it worked perfectly.
