white arrow in the files of the executable

Hello everyone!

I have problem creating executables. I want the files does not start to run until the user do not write parameters. So I want that the user could fillful some fields and when it ends, he could start the program using the white arrow (as when you run using Labview).

When I create a file I deselect the option to "run when it starts", and I get the white arrow in the executable façade. However, I try to do the same thing with the other files and I am not able. SB. explain to me what are the steps I must take to allow control of the execution user?

Thank you!

You could always run the VI to start, as it is by default and additional code to make the user can control execution:

You can check the values of the fields to make sure that they have been modified, when they all have, run the code.

You may have a ' start' button on your front panel which would be conditional for a while loop to the beginning of your code

You could use a structure of the event and only run code when the user pressed a button of some or certain a field has changed.

• If click the white arrow to run vi, is compiled beforehand vi?

I have this vague idea that compile LabVIEW means something like the compilation in c; compilation only occurs when you want to build the exe.

And when you click on the white arrow run button in a Labview vi. The vi will be sorta like VB in interpreted mode.

But however DRESSED review model, I saw this question on Labview know the data type of the strict definition of type at compile time. This seems to suggest that whenever you run the vi, Labview compiles the first vi. Compilation happens only when you want to compile the exe vi.

While it is true?

A normal compiler performs different steps during compilation. Pre-treatment, check the syntax, compilation and the actual link is more or less done only once after tell you him to do.

LabVIEW split this. Syntax checking is a continuous process while you change influence LabVIEW vis. anything not valid causes errors like broken right during the time of change. Once you press the button run LabVIEW can simply take the diagram and compile into machine code, which is normally so fast that you don't even notice it. When you save a disk LabVIEW VI takes the compiled machine code or creates it if it has not been done so far and he recorded with the VI on the disk. Loading the VI the next time the machine code is already there, at least if you are loading the VI on the same platform and version of LabVIEW.

If LabVIEW ALWAYS executes the compiled code, regardless of whether you run the VI in the development environment or in an executable file.

Strengthening enforcement is really mostly just take all the parts already compiled and put them in one place, stripping anything useless such as diagrams and also signs of façade that is never visible. This is of course a simplification very strong, but for the purpose of

• My Avira Antivirus has been removed and the executable file Recovery Disc Creator

Hello

I want to create recovery DVDs, but I can't use Recovery Disc Creator because Avira deleted the executable file. How to do it?

Thanks in advance

I use Avira if a long time now and I've never experienced something like that. It's pretty bad situation now.

Creator of recovery disk Toshiba cannot be downloaded and what you can do now is to reinstall the OS using the HARD drive recovery option, then when the laptop has once again factory settings, you will be able to start this tool and create the recovery disk.

Out of curiosity, what model of laptop you have exactly?

• 2010 user.lib path to the executable file changed since 2009 (1abvi3w)

Our group has often using VI server to control the other executables LabVIEW for automated tests. We expect the VI to be within the executable to control via Server executable VI screws and screws we need to construct the full path.

For LabVIEW 2009 user.lib screw the path used to appear as:

. exe\LabVIEW 2009\user.lib\...

For LabVIEW 2010 user.lib screw (on Win XP AND Win 7) the path appears now as:

. exe\1abvi3w\user.lib\...

It's just information for developers. He really threw a key in our calls to the VI server and are uncertain as to why he's changed and why his "1abvi3w". Who's the funny guy?

Seriously, why this change and why to use a '1' and '3 '. Is this an attempt of 1337 speak?

Paths in applications applications are based on the hierarchy of the source of VI. For files in the directory of LabVIEW, the LabVIEW directory real name was used in 2009. It was ok except when creating relies on platforms or on multiple computers where LabVIEW has been installed to a different location. So for 2010, a single, constant directory name has been chosen.

• Cannot start web server on the executable file

Hello

We have a problem with a Web server - we cannot get to initialize the help of nodes of property or the ini on a compiled executable file.

As part of our application, we are starting the Web server to publish a status page to be read remotely. This works very well when we are running in the development environment and also when we run an executable a PC with installed development environment, however it will not boot on a PC with just the runtime installed.

I have attached some of the code that functionally does exactly the same thing in our main application. I used this as my Tester code and built in an exe while trying a lot of different things to fix.

When executing:

• The code will sit in the while loop until I press stop.
• Web server: Active Server = FALSE
• Out error = ERROR No.

In the full application the while loop waits a few seconds before throw an error if the server is not started. In this example, I can let the loop running for awhile without leave. Normally, the boot time is<50ms when="">

It's the ini file to the executable file:

[WebTest]
server.app.propertiesEnabled = True
Server.OLE.Enabled = True
server.tcp.serviceName = "My Server computer/VI"
server.vi.propertiesEnabled = True
WebServer.Enabled = True
WebServer.TcpAccess = "' + * '"
WebServer.ViAccess = "' + * '"
DebugServerEnabled = False
DebugServerWaitOnLaunch = False

And it is the Web server configuration file:

ErrorLog "$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/error.log".
LogLevel 3
The default server name
DocumentRoot "$LVSERVER_ROOT /... /.. '. "/ www".
Listen 8000
ThreadLimit 10
TypesConfig "$LVSERVER_ROOT/mime.types»
DirectoryIndex index.html
LoadModulePath "$LVSERVER_ROOT/modules '" $LVSERVER_ROOT/LVModules "" $LVSERVER_ROOT /... ".
LoadModule LVAuth lvauthmodule
LoadModule LVSnapshot lvsnapshotmodule
LoadModule LVRFP lvrfpmodule
LoadModule dir libdirModule
LoadModule copy libcopyModule

AddHandler LVAuthHandler
AddHandler LVSnapshotHandler .snap
AddHandler LVRFPHandler

AddHandler dirHandler
AddHandler copyHandler

"CustomLog"$LVSERVER_ROOT/logs/access.log"'%%u %t \"%r\ hour' % > s %b.
KeepAlive on
KeepAliveTimeout 60
Timeout 60

As can side note, anyone tell me where the $LVSERVER_ROOT variable is configured?

I tried the things:

• Copy a new default configuration file before the entry into force
• Writing a predefined file (encoded) before initializing config
• Definition to root before initializing directory (it actually generates an error because the server is not active...)
• Set WebServer.Active = TRUE several times inside the while loop
• Toggle the web server in the ini file

System:

• LabVIEW 2010
• PC with Windows 7 running

Thanks for any help, because it makes me crazy slow!

Ben

Hi Marco, thanks for the reply.

I have this guide was reviewed previously and had done all that he but a small section who gave me a hint of something to try and I have solved my problem, so thank you!

If anyone is interested, here's the problem:

The directive DocumentRoot folder in the config must exist or the Web server cannot be started. So basically, make sure that the file points to a folder that exists!

This leaves two small annoying problems if - you can't see if the file exists (and then create it) before starting the Web server, because you can not query the path to the folder without the Web server running.

AND

You can't really define the configuration programmatically file as parameters from the file are responsible for execution, not on the start Web server.

The result of this is that the config file and the folder root document should be created (and corresponding of course...) when the executable is built / installed on the system. Not a massive headache, but it means do not forget to put things in the build specification and do not rely on software to do the job at startup

• Open the return of file < not a refnum > vi in the executable

Hey there,

I have a the ' Open/create/replace the file' vi in an executable file. It works perfectly fine on my development machine, so developing in the executable. When I install it on another machine, the - function returns true.

It seems to me that the file opens correctly, even if it exists. There is no error, indicating that there has been a problem in opening the file, so I'm confused.

None of you have met it... bug (?) and knows what it takes to to this topic?

Thanks in advance

Now I feel very stupid.

It is in fact an error - file not found.

I just thought that this (file not found) error message will show automatically if I have anything to remove the error messages, as a cluster of wiring error.

• How do you determine the VI file specification in executable?

Under LabVIEW 2010, how can I determine a specification of file full of screws that he resides in a built executable file? I have location of the executable file and I have the location of the screws on the drive when the executable was generated. I hope that it has a property of LabVIEW that will tell me the specifications for each file in the executable.

• Exec System does not work in the executable file

Once again I have to do something stupid!

I use the Exec System to start/stop services. It works fine on my development machine, but on a stand-alone pc only Runtime installed with a license, he simply could not start/stop services!

I did some research and found it we configure the executable file or an alternative is to use .net to achieve this goal. I couldn't stick with Exec System to achieve this?

Thank you very much

Waris K

Sounds to me like a permission error - you are running as an administrator on the development computer, but as a less privileged user on the other computer? Exec system returns an error (try adding a simple error handler)?

• Problem with the executable files

Hello all, I need a help from you...

I use LV 2009 SP1 Professional Development Suite on Windows Seven and I have a problem with the executable files, a problem that I have ever found with other versions of LV (8.x, for example) and I'm a little surprised...

In the attachment you will find an example of what I mean.

There are two base screws, the main one (prova) and a Subvi (provasubvi). The main vi launches the Subvi and the Subvi simply create a chart. As you can see on the screws works fine, without any kind of problem.

I also created the exe file, without specifying that no particular option... and 'magic' of the application does not work as I want. In particular, it seems that the Subvi is running, but the front panel will not be accessible.

I also try to play with the Subvi construction structure and options, but nothing change.

Did you ever solve something like that?... I would say that I thank you in advance for any suggestion...

Andrea

Hello andrea,.

Looking at your project I've heard that you do not include the Subvi during the build of the project. SO I slightly modified. Please find the attachments.

Thank you and best regards,
