white screen or flickers half readable at best

My g7 pavilion will stop when I rebooted the screen tries to open the office flashes very quickly, and then load that only the upper part is flickers. I tried upgrading the bios. I use this computer with remote monitor and everything works fine.

HiBHK6 I sat down and took the laptop on all sides and found no loose warn or frayed cables loose connection or anything else. I know that I have to reset the time on computer every day about. Can I have a graphics chip or part that could be replaced or it is part of the motherboard. Once in a blue moon, it can start up and see only half the clear Office almost down maybe a horizontal colored thousand or screen. and at the same time everything in HDMI to tv works fine. I'm willing to make the film offices as they did to the printer. lol I'm open to what might be next. Thanks Brian

  • iMac 8.1 White Screen of Death

Before I launch into history, here are some of the relevant features of my computer. I have an iMac 8.1 (2008 model) with a processor clocked at 2.66 DC2, 2 GB of RAM and a hard disk of 1 TB with three partitions. The main (about 640 GB) ran 10.11, the second a (32) snow leopard and the rest it has been implemented with Windows 7. This configuration worked well enough (if a little cludgily) for some time, but the other day, things came to a head.

It has a bit of history history, please bear with me.

Monday, after the computer has been awkwardly slow with no application, I thought to reinstall El Capitan to see if that would help. After the installation failed, I ran disk utility on the main partition to see what he would say. After a brief inspection, he said that it was a problem he couldn't solve, recommended making sure that my data has been backed up and clear. The Snow Leopard partition, however, seemed fine. Somewhere along the line I also gave Techtool Pro 8 a spin; It seems to indicate that most of the things associated with non-partition were very well, but found that the hard drive (in general) has failed to test temperature.

In any case, I boot in Snow Leopard, I guess to see if the old version of disk utility would have a bit more luck (this may sound stupid, but I confess I have a lingering distrust of the latest iteration of this software). As expected, he did not progress. I even ran DiskWarrior 4, and he says that the partition was shot. Somewhere along the way, I had disassembled the main partition for a reason, and after not being able to get him back for some time (and getting only ReadOnly when she didn't come back), I myself resigned and the likelihood that the partition was shot. We ran by Best Buy and picked up a 1 TB external drive (which I never had before, as stupid as it sounds; "I guess I never realized to cheap ways they had obtained). I spend a night using carbon copy to backup my important data and when I'm done moving things on the next day morning, delete this partition. So far so good. I reinstall El Capitan without any hitch and spend a day or two, transfer of information on the 'new '. I also make sure to configure the new disk as a time Machine, get all my data saved on it.

Things seem to be fine, and I'm starting to get back to my daily routine. However, this morning, after the connection and use it for a little while, the entire screen changes abruptly a very light grey/white color and no unresponsive. I understand that nothing is happening, stop and restart the power. The screen remains white. The slider appears, but nothing big happens else. At some point (I'm afraid I don't remember if it's on this first boot or one of the few later), a folder with a flashing question mark appears (this never appeared, however, on one or two startups). I try different things: reset PRAM (which at least brought the sound chime, who had kept silent, back), reset the SMC and boot into safe mode, a disc hard my choice with the Option key pressed, or since the Snow Leopard DVD. When he answered the optionkey down initially, it would shoot the cursor and screen as if he was going to offer me different drives, but nothing ever came, not even the external drive. After further start attempts, he stopped to show anything, even the cursor.

I have the external drive disconnected right now. When you start the computer, a white screen comes up and then nothing else seems to happen, no matter what key combos are pressed.

It was for some time ago, but I thought it would be useful to mention that we sometimes have blackouts here. After such an event, old computer power supply burned and had to be replaced. Since that time, however, everything seemed to work pretty well.

I looked around, discussions and others to try to see if I could find a similar experience, but as it is I'm quite puzzled. The only thing I have not tried is opened and unplug the hard drive as suggested by an intern, to see if she might try to find other media to boot from.

I thought I would ask here to see if he has any advice this community had to offer before doing something drastic. Thanks for reading and your review.

If you have the original install disc provided with the computer, run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back. If errors appear when you have confirmed a significant hardware problem the computer has to go repair. The reason to run AHT in Extended Mode what is complete, but it can miss errors during the first and even the second pass.

However my guess is have some other hardware problem and you really takes them to a CENTER in your area to be diagnosed professionally.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - white screen after login

Hi, got a laptop off a friend to watch as not start correctly. Vista Edition running Home Premium, it will start up the screen of the user ok but when a user is selected the screen goes white with just the mouse pointer showing (which moves ok on the touchpad). I can press Ctrl Alt Delete and get the blue menu screen - if I try the Task Manager with it it goes back to the white screen.

I tried a repair of end upward to F8 but said no problems found. I can also start ok in Mode safe without getting a white screen. I tried a high diagnostic of MSConfig startup but still the same. I also disabled all services but still a Virgin.

I have a secondary partition on the disk with the recovery of HARD drive there, but do not want to reformat. I tried to restore to several different, but restore points remains empty at the normal start screen.
Someone at - it find it.
    Mark

    Hello

    Its hardware problem or software.
Start the laptop in safe mode means that some essential software process would be disabled and the system would use only a few basics of essential equipment.

So even if the laptop runs correctly in safe mode, it could be a hardware problem.

That's why I think only with the help of HARD drive recovery would be the best way to know what's wrong here...

  • Stor.E TV + White Screen of Death"

My box packed yesterday, surprisingly 1 day after her 1st birthday! All I get now is a white glitter on the front panel display.

Means that the box has not experienced a catastrophic failure, or did I suspect a blockage of the software. If it is the latter, how do I do a hard reset?

    The script was:
I transferred files from the box on my home network. This went well.
I navigated to the folder video using the remote control, selected a video I want to resume playback.
The curriculum vitae of confirmation popup does not work, he bombed at the store screen logo then at home.
I've sailed to the video and allows FFx16 to get to the point where I wanted to. It has bombarded the logo again.
I noticed the screen says "loading" Panel, while the logo showed, then returned to the House.
Thinking he has hung up, I thought that a reboot of power would be sort so I turned off with the remote control.
I gave it a few minutes and then power on. The screen showed just a flickering white screen.
Then, I disconnected all cables and power supply and left for an hour. Once again, same WSoD under tension.

I noticed other comments on this forum ask questions about the reset of the box, but someone is there never an answer that worked?

I can't do any connection box to my pc of office on site with the USB device or the network cable on a browser by using the intellectual property which it had sold.

Since it is under warranty I opened the box to look for a jumper to reset, no luck. Also, no sign of battery backup to perform to get first start start. The design is beautifully put together with the help of SMD components and connectors firmly waiting. I disconnected a Samsung 1 TB Sata HD, then reconnected when he put it back together. He turned again on same buthe WSoD.

Someone at - it ideas on how to this reset to life?

    TIA
    Malc

    Hi Malc

    > I noticed other comments on this forum ask questions about the reset of the box, but someone there never an answer that worked

You can reset the Stor.E + only in the configuration of the system Stor.E. There is an option called default restore
But if you are not able to get the system configuration, you will not be able to restore the settings so that this option is useless in your case

Looks like its common 1 TB SATA 3.5 HDD you could connect it to a USB port using a controller USB-to-SATA it is maybe you would help to gain access to files on the HARD drive otherwise I guess the HARD drive died.

  • White screen on model Equium M50-216 SM57E problem

I'm having a strange problem with the computer screen... Start-up of the laptop... against the cold, the Toshiba logo flickers then the windows logo then flashes black... However, the screen is still backlit... The laptop works perfectly apart from that. I can connect to external monitors and it works very well, but here's the weird thing...

I connected on three different monitors it works in 2 4:3 monitors. It does not work in my wide screen... when he starts the Toshiba logo comes up then the windows logo then just prior to the Welcome screen of windows (that blue thing at the beginning) the monitor says no signal.

After a while the display on the laptop will appear and be fine until I stopped it (usually, sometimes the screen off, and without touching it's back in a minute).

The white screen comes generally from when the laptop is started after being off for a while; For example, suppose that during the night... I simply closed the lid last night, and no do not stop correctly then when I opened it this morning the screen worked perfectly. There is no other display weirdness... bad pixels, lines, anomalies of any other nature.

I recently reinstalled everything and the problem is still there. Please say it is (Hey! the screen comes back) a driver problem or something as simple

Help with this (or even a suggestion) would be greatly appreciated
    See you soon
    Dave

PS: everything works fine apart from this.

    Hi mate

The story sounds very mysterious and my first thought is that it might be an unwanted material.

But usually it of not easy to provide a diagnosis exactly and we should first check if the software doesn't cause questions!

So first of all, it would be interesting to know if the same thing happens on laptop retrieved fresh. Using the recovery CD, you would get the factory settings!

A BIOS and update the graphics driver are the following options!

So check it out and let me know the results

    See you soon

  • White screen on Satellite Pro L300D

The screen on my L300D is not empty, no idea why, I tried using another monitor and its blank again.

    1. is the screen fucked?
2 or... would it be the graphics card?

Need help as its working well for 5 years passed, and I can't afford to replace it. I have been informed that a new motherboard could cost NZ$ 600 more work, so its more viable to replace if that is the case.

    Paul

    > The screen on my L300D went not empty, no idea why, I tried using another monitor and its blank again.
It is very suspicious, and it is possible that this graphics card died. It's the worst case scenario, and in this case the motherboard needs to be replaced. Problem is that new motherboard is very expensive and best solution for you is to buy the new laptop.

One last thing: start the laptop computer you hear sounds and y at - it a white screen of reaction exept?

  • HP G72-259wm: white screen

I have a white screen when I start my HP G72. The fan works and the lights on the keyboard work. I tried the hard reset without the battery and still nothing. I would like to connect the computer to my TV to see if that works but you read the settings in the Control Panel must be modified to work. I'm stuck now and I would be grateful some advice. Thank you.

Basically, I wonder how I would go about changing the settings on the computer to work with the tv when I see nothing on the screen of the computer. Does not appear that it would be possible for me.

  • White screen satellite C650 - no Boot Up

Satellite C650 - no Boot Up - white screen

This laptop is just over 1 year.

Laptop screen suddenly went white, he is stopped even if the battery was half full.

It will charge is no longer and the charging light does not illuminate.

Does not respond when you press the power button, even using from the mains.

Is it a common problem with this model?

It is possible to address the question, what are the steps involved in the process?

Laptop needs spare parts to fix this?

    Thank you.

    > Is it a common problem with this model?
Certainly not and something like this can happen on every laptop.
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what problem can be. All of a sudden switch OFF may be related to material high temperature and overheating.
I put t know how I can you use your laptop on battery power, but I hope you don t use it in the lap or bed and the air vents are not blocked somehow.

Place the laptop on the desktop and check if the same thing will happen again.

When the laptop turns off and you leave it for a while, can you restart normally?

  • white screen during video playback on Web sites

    Hello

I'm having issues on the laptop as when I try to play a video on facebook or any other site or forum, I get only audio, no visual, just a white screen

Thanks in advance of a fool of techno

    Hello

    Good to hear it's Ok.

I guess I saw him more in Windows 8 with 7 - it seems more likely with a combination of ati video drivers and Internet Explorer.

Only from the comments I received, once the problem has been corrected, it is unlikely to return.

    Best regards

  • Satellite M30-604: white screen - need new FL inverter

    Hello

I have a M30 (SM30-604) with a white screen. I know that the problem is my inverter Board, but cannot source the right spare part. Any body know where is the best place to get one of these. The serial number of the inverter Board is G7100001111/03XB0176134

    Hello

In my opinion this extraordinary manufacture parts, you will be able to buy only from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
Guys are able to order the spare parts directly from Toshiba.
I think the best way is to contact the authorized service provider and order the Fl of these guys drive there.

But I give you advice; do not replace all parts if you have no experience. These repair procedures must be performed by a technician.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 11 c - white screen problem

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 11 c, PSKTCE yesterday and I installed Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit and all the drivers, but when I was installing AMD Graphics driver downloaded from the official site in the middle of the instalation a white screen appeared and it's like that since... Maybe you could help me to come back to life before I have to go back to the dealer ship it and so on.

    Best regards

    Stjepan? ideal

It's really strange question. I checked the Toshiba download page and your machine is fully supported for Win7 64 bit.

I hope that you can start your machine and enter the BIOS settings. Try to put once again to the default settings, then edit the Win7 installation settings and try again.

I do not understand if you see this white screen all the time or what? I mean the moment when you press the power button / stop. If so, I fear, it could be hardware related issue m. just contact your dealer and ask for replacement.

  • Wanted: White screen after 10 Windows Update - problem even when back in windows 8.1

    Hello

I've updated to windows 10 and after a few hours, the main screen of my laptop went blank but my second monitor that I use with a HDMI cable still works.

Here is a screenshot - one screen shows white and I'm typing this on screen 2 (continue below)

I've updated my drivers in Device Manager but problem persists, here's my profile for screens and link to full

From my understanding the cables of the screen white screens LCD is still, this problem started after the update of Windows 10 so I'm reluctant to think it's that. My laptop is still under warranty but do not want to send in if he didn't need that I need for work.

I found some information online saying that a restore Image will not work, but I have an and you can try it if need be.

Other information found online says that my computer basically "forgot" that I have a main display to get out information in and make the screen and that's why my second screen works perfectly and me might be able to solve this problem with the start of the saving mode and try to fix it from there again I've never done this and don't want to cause more problems doing things like that.

What could be the best way to go forward with this problem is to say. :

    * Is there a way to check the LCD cables without disassembling the computer. (Don't want to do that, and don't think it's the fault)

    * System Restore will help

    * Where / who should I contact for help in this regard

Thanks for any help provided and please tell me if you need any other info to help. I really want to to fix the problem rather than take it to a guy or HP

It's a bad screen. The upgrade of Windows 10 timing is a coincidence. You can continue to use it as a desktop computer with an external monitor forever.

  • Satellite A200 - white screen with 3 beeps

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A200 was recently gives me a white screen with 3 beeps at every start. I took it to my friend for repair and they told me that I had to take the battery out and put it so that it starts. It worked for him, but not me. I called technical support and told me it was a hardware problem with the memory or the motherboard.

Anyone have the same problem and know what to do? I wouldn't mind not check memory myself I don't know where to start...

    Thank you

    Hi hpthinker,

I think the support that you called is right and it s a hardware problem. Perhaps with memory or the motherboard

The best way to fix this would be new modules of RAM because they can be easily replaced in a few minutes and are not expensive nowadays.
Just so buy new modules of RAM in your local computer store, or ask your authorized service provider for this problem. They can offer you new RAM modules and you can test it again.

By the way: If you have two RAM modules, test it with a module only.

  • Satellite A105-S4164 - will not start only white screen

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4164 that will not start.

I thought that maybe there is a problem with the battery. I took out the battery and then plugged the laptop to the power outlet, makes no difference. The blue lights in the front of the laptop, lights, but I hear no noise from the motherboard or the fan. The laptop is bought in July 2006 and it is out of warranty.
All I see is a white screen.

My guess is that the motherboard must be replaced. I have also had kept with Symantic anti-virus and windows updates XP before April 1, 2009.

    Thank you for your comments.

    Seyed

You can see an image on an external monitor?

Well, I think that in this case the laptop must be verified by the technician for laptop. You should contact an ASP and ask for help. It would be the best way because the technician can be sure what parts are defective.
