White shadow in Illustrator

Screen Shot 2016-04-26 at 7.36.03 PM.png

Hello world

I am creating a white shadow in illustrator on a medium color background.

It does not appear.

The attached picture is half on the file and the other on the dark background.

Why can I not see anything, even a slight shadow on the blue-grey background?

I can't darken the background unfortunately.

Any way to do it?

He is Illustrator CC

Thank you very much!!

It seems that you left your drop shadow Mode to multiply.

Change to normal, and should show your white.

  • Creating distinct shadows in Illustrator CS4... what happened?

It is of course available in CS3, directly in the dialog box. Now that my office has improved my machine to CS4, I do not find the option or perhaps not being able to recreate.

You can always create SEPARATE shadows in Illustrator CS4?

    Thank you!

Not sure if I look what end result you're looking for with SEPARATE shadows, but nothing has changed between CS3 & CS4 regarding the shadows that comes to mind. Try selecting stand with a drop shadow and choosing object > expand appearance. This will separate your subject from the shadow. You will now have a chart incorporated for shade, which is separated from your object.

Before that, you can change your Effects > effects of rasterization Document settings at 300 dpi, so you get enough resolution

    I hope this helps.

  • How to blend in with the white shadow on black part?

Can you get it someone please let me know how to subtly mix in the white part of the shadow in the background black, I created. I have two layers, one for the black background and one for the image. But I don't want to mix the bottle in the background, just the white part.

    Thank you! Susan

    shadow.jpg

Certainly work with the image in full resolution and downsize after the change.  This will reduce the imperfections in the web version (for that there will be any imperfection does not) white hard as can are better selected with the pen tool.  If you want to mix the background, I decided on a different approach.

Select the box with the pen tool.  It's a little bit of a learning curve, but an essential tool and worth the effort.

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/using/drawing-pen-tools.html

After you have created the Workpath, right-click in the Panel traced and make a selection, and copy into a new layer (Ctrl j) keep this layer at the top of the stack

Make a new layer under the cage layer and fill it black

Make a new layer between the Can and the black layer.  CTRL, click the box layer to load a selection and fill the layer with white.

Use free transform to develop the white layer so that it looks something like this: (note I have not tested this yet, so just a guess)

Now use the Gaussian blur to soften the white layer to some degree of suites.  This used a value of 100, but you'll need a value more high full resolution on your image.

There are tricks to refine the background.  CTRL f repeat the Gaussian blur, but the softer the blur becomes the thinnest layer, but you can copy the white blur layer to make it lighter.  When you are satisfied, select all the layers blur and merge them (Ctrl-e) and refine with free transform.  Now CTRL pressed while in the free transformation will allow you to drag a single corner.  in the example of the lower right was a bit too dark, so I dragged that corner down and to the right to compensate (as in the final image)

  • Need help with the Drop Shadow in Illustrator feature

    Hello

I'm working on a file in Illustrator.  In a part of the file, I dropped earlier on a text shadow, and it seems quite well.  This can be seen in the screenshot #1.

Later in the same file, when I try to drop shadow on another piece of text now becomes blur (screenshot #2).  I don't know if some parameters have unknowing changed in illustrator.  I tried to shadow in a new totally different file as well, but that no longer appears blurred too.

I will be grateful if I can help.

    Kind regards

    Abbas.

Recheck the blur in the settings drop (looks like it is set to 0 in picture 1).

  • bootstrap carousel-legend: must go white shadow type

    Hello

I have a 5 photo slideshow, in which one of the scenes is inevitably bright, making it difficult to distinguish legend text. I need to substantially increase the black shadow (darken? expand?) who, it seems, to live in the "bootstrap" CSS 6259 range Or not... Help, please.

    Best wishes

Works great! Thank you very much.

  • Create a white shadow behind a weird shape object

I need to take my logo and put a 'cloud' behind it do that the image is on a white background but not affect the background image itself.  Try to do more pop logo on a blue background.  I want the outline to follow the shape of the logo.

With the logo on a transparent background. Double-click the layer to bring up the layer Style and use outer glow.

It will help you determine the width and the gradation of light and color

  • Flatten the issue of transparency with shadows & white text

    Hi all

I have difficulties, flattening of transparency of the white text with a shadow in Illustrator CS6 for a project on paper. I am relatively new to this so forgive me if this is a kinda a noob question! The object I'm working with is a file of the PDF logo that I opened in Illustrator, then changed the color of text and then pasted in my working paper. What I want to achieve (the object not flattened) is the picture below on the left, and the flattened result is to the right of it. The flatten transparency settings that I used are in the picture below: these are the settings I use for all the work I've found that they tend to produce minimal injection lines (if any) during flattening.

I tried to find information on how to solve this problem, but I seem to have come short. Any help would be a HUGE help!

    Please and thank you!

  • Drop shadow problem with Illustrator CS5

I used the shade several times without any problems in photoshop and Illustrator... currently I'm down a white shadow on a black background, and even if the shadow falls correctly around the subject, I noticed that there is a kind of white extra blur what is happening several inches away from my images reguardless of what shape they are. I would like to know if a file would be useful, and I can send an example of the problem. Thank you

You have a very large spreading and blur, you can try to increase the setting of the extra space in the effects of rasterization of Document dialog box

or just make a clipping path to eliminate it

  • How to change the white text and more light colours of text and illustrations to deep colors or provide a deeper black outline, so that they are legible?

I noticed that the illustrations and white text are not readable as well as light colored fonts that I use. I have consulted with Microsoft and other help sections various areas recommended, but impossible to find what is the problem and how to solve these problems. In order to clarify, for example, if I go on a site that displays white text anywhere on the screen, or illustrations in white, I can't read or see anything even if I do expand. I tried to innovate in following things suggested in onlne Microsoft Help related to the resolution section, but can't find anything on this specific problem when I do a search. I tried to change my display resolution settings, change the background color of my screen, themes and even the font colors, but nothing changes for the problem. I also noticed that any file in my computer appearing in any color of light is also hard to read. I must not do something correctly, but I don't know what. It's a pain for example, when I go to a site, and the white text and illustrations appear, but do not have any black outlining. Magnification just leads to the same result. Can anyone identify which is the problem, the settings on which I should be focusing and provide instructions on how to fix this?  I use Windows Vista Home Premium and I am a layman when it comes to computers.

  • How it prevents illustrator of the conversion of the shadows at the edges when the file is closed, and then reopened?

I have no idea why this is happening but you must stop. I can't change the shadows in Illustrator files once they are reopened. I don't have time for that. Help, please.

What is a file originating with an older version, as it is being edited in CC? Try record underand don't forget to save it as the current version.

  • Question of strange shadows fall: only appears when you drag on the artboard

I applied a soft shadow silver drop white to an image placed on a piece of Illustrator.  The shadow only appears when I drag the selection on the artboard (in the gray area that surrounds the artboard).  Drag on the piece and without shadow.  Make sure the image is presented front and background sent to the rear. STILL NOTHING.

Thoughts?  This photo is not the best but you can kind of see how the soft white shadow stops abruptly on the black background on the edge of the artboard.

Check the settings on your shadow.

  • Export to jpg, transparent turn white

    Heyo,

I have a file of work 3 times A3 size plan I want to record on at 300ppi so I can print it at A1 without losing much quality.

I do this every two months, it will be the 4th time or more.

Every time I run into this same problem and just little fudge my way, but I'm not having as much luck this time and cannot move on to printing.

    before.jpg

each sheet is a series of 20 coupons, or then as seen above (sorry for censorship, my company is extremely paranoid, afraid that they catch me learning)

but when I export in jpg format, some of the coupons come out like this:

    after.jpg

the layers of white (there are two) both go transparent and the image of bottom paper is leaking through.

as you can see in the afterthought, top right, little white is preserved (in a file link, but the white shadow less 408 is a form of illustrator)

    I tried to change things and white 1% or 1% 1% 1 1 %k %y m c k...

usually juggle it like that randomly serveral gets to work afterwards...

Anyone know what the really good cause?

    Thanks and best wishes

  • white screen will not go away

    Hi experts,

I am really struggling with this. Help, please.

It is a resonant app, 4.7 api, 9500 storm.

    This is what happens:

I push my main application screen, looks perfect.

I push a dialogue screen, looks like.

This dialog box will show a virtual keyboard, it looks good, works fine.

When the virtual keyboard is rising, all the screens on the stack are re-landscaped (*),

with a dimension that has a smaller height because

space that takes the virtual keyboard.

This re-layout is triggered by the system, I see it on the stack in the debugger.

    Everything seems fine.

Until THAT I pop the screen of the dialog box.

Then, there is a space on the screen initial app as a result of the re-layout (*) above.

One of my fields of background bitmap is clipped in order to take account of the re-layout (*)

leave a blank space. It looks like a white shadow that underlie the virtual keyboard where used to be.

Objects of my client, it's understandable. It seems pathetic.

I can't get the underlying screen to rearrange, get rid of this space,

After the collapse of the dialogue box.

    I tried:

forcing a call to updateLayout()-online it does nothing.

I am inheriting from the screen, is this a problem?

What should I put in my derived class to get updateLayout() to work?

    Call of invalidateLayout().

I get an illegal state exception, because the screen that needs a re-layout is displayed.

Please help, thank you very much.

    lucidbee.

Well, I found something that works, but it's ugly, ugly.

I'll put it here, in case others run into this.

    (Use at your own risk).

The background (which was partially getting out white) was custom field that overrides BitmapField.

This custom field overrides layout (int maxWidth, maxHeight int).

I have observed that maxHeight was reflecting the height value of the screen that has been altered by the virtual keyboard.

So I forced my required value, which is 480.

Yes, I changed the maxHeight entering INSIDE my custom layout() method.

    This fixed my issue.

NOTE when I tried this trick of replacement screen and my Manager, it caused the keyboard to

does not correctly (all the keys responded).

If I applied it ONLY to my BitmapFields, this tip worked.

    Best regards

  • The shadow behind the text - Windows 7

White under my icons on my desktop text seems to have a slim gray shadow and also on my PC, the black text has a very fine white shadow behind it. Any idea of what this could be the cause?

    Hi John

    much thx 4 your suggestion

have found the solution to the problem :-). My son had put the monitor from the PC to 'movie' without telling us. Then I turned back on for it to 'text' and everything is back to normal. So nothing to do with Windows as it turns.

But thx for getting back to me
