Why does Microsoft say Windows 7 compatible with Intuit Quickbooks 2007?

Intuit makes clear that Windows 7 is NOT compatible with Quickbooks 2007.

Companies expect to migrate their data business of QB 2007 to a new Microsoft operating system will be required to upgrade their accounting software to the 2013 QB (for a cost of $350).

Yes, of course. But which does not address the issue...
I'll rephrase:
What is the purpose of "Upgrade Advisor" of Microsoft?

'Upgrade Advisor'

My opinion: it didn't.  It is a worthless utility that gives inexperienced users of false security.  As it is with all that is complicated (with so many variables) as the upgrade a computer operating system that needs to interact with a possible combination of millions of different hardware components in probably as many sellers as well as many software available in any variety of versions, the installation order, etc. - each individual will have to check on their own stuff to check everything they have is ready/compatible on a per article basis.

I said for more than a decade now in these forums (and the previous discussion groups.)  If you want it well done, you do it yourself and you ask people trust you for assistance.  You can * tell * trust you Microsoft, Intuit, Adobe, Apple, etc. - but do you really?  No. you're more likely to come to a place like this with people like you and ask for help.  Google what they say, how many people are in agreement and then... go with it or ignore it.

Probably more along the line of the party: it's a utility to give "advice" - just like anyone else in you giving advice, it is up to you what you do with it and how much trust you him.
