Why firefox doesn't save my settings?

I just use a registry cleaner (Untiitled_ Tool Box) and now all my settings on Firefox are gone. And even if I redo my settings (homepage, modules, etc.), when I close Firefox and reopen, I am sent to the first time user page "Welcome to Firefox" and none of my previous settings have been saved.

IMO, a Reset probably won't fix a registry problem.

If the registry has been cleaned, the user must reinstall Firefox to get the good restored registry setting.

  • Why Firefox doesn't have the option NOT to save passwords? Very precarious as it is today.

It is very safe NOT having the option for Firefox NOT saving passwords. I am aware very secure and that you don't want my saved passwords. Please consider providing this future option updates to Firefox? Thank you.

  • Firefox doesn't save toolbar I made

Given that FF got upgraded to Firefox 23 my toolbars are messed up
Whenever I make a new toolbar via "Customize" > "Add new toolbar" after I out it does not record.

Yes, I read more than 10 different items on it.

    (1) I deleted the localstore.rdf and started from scratch. After 15 minutes of moving all the icons on various toolbars, I close to customize. I then don't restart only to find that my toolbar does not save and the missing icon (place in the box customise)

    (2) only ALWAYS given solution goes mode without failure and reset everything.
I have to spend 5 hours backup all settings and data that I saved in loaded 189 points.

Why so much of? If this isn't the case, that much I have to spend all day on my computer to do things that a lot of these addons are for me more than 6 hours. Time is money.

    (3) it is not the first time in 8 years or to use Firefox, what happened.

    (4) question why doen't save when you close on 'Customize' when you go out? More than in Firefox that is messed up, it is not just save?

Tried to create a new profile, just to test whether the new toolbar would return after the closing, and Yes, he has returned. So I guess the root of the problem is in the profile.

Not sure if I want to go to the massive effort to move all piecemeal from the old profile to the new profile.

I have to stay with the workaround.

  • Why FireFox will not save my newspaper in my homepage?

Until the most recent upgrades, Firefox automatically save my log in information for my home page. This is no longer. When I launch Firefox now, I click on Sign In, choose my password saved (from Roboform), and I'm connected.

Sometimes I can close Firefox, reopen it, and I am always connected. Most of the time when I close Firefox and reopen it, I have to reconnect. I have the same parameters in the last version I've had previously, but still have problems.

I tried all the 'stuff' standard (ensuring saved passwords, etc), but nothing changes. I uninstalled Firefox and started "from scratch", but it did not help. I'm puzzled.

BTW if I use Internet Explorer, my connection settings are saved. I want to use Firefox but signature every time is a pain.

    Thank you.

It was very good work. Play well.

  • Desktop for mac Firefox doesn't save history

Using desktop for mac firefox. Recently, he stopped saving my story. The front and rear buttons still work, typing something into the address window it will draw places I have visited in the past, but only the ones I visited two or three weeks ago. Nothing recent. "Show all history" brings to the top of the window, but there is nothing in it. »

Private browsing is not enabled. I enabled "remember my browsing and download history."

Another answer suggested that I might have an anti virus or something that is disabling history. I looked, but I did do this. Safari and Chrome are all both save their stories normally.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).

    • Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.

  • Where FireFox doesn't save screenshots?

I did a screen capture, but he can't find anywhere.

Where can I see what the firefox settings use to save screenshots.

in fact, the built-in development tools would be able to take screenshots - those who would go in the folder downloads of your system by default. in case you use any third-party tool to take the screenshot, you would have to refer to its documentation.

  • Why Firefox doesn't create so many temporary files in the cache? Once it filled all space (46GB)?

Every now and then, Firefox will have created zillions of directories and the files cached in the directory for a Firefox profile. The directories are called 0 (zero) and F (using the hexagonal as numbers names, i.e.g), and within each of them will be more directories (with two names of hexadecimal digit). The last time this happened (2 weeks ago), these directories ate ALL my free space on the hard drive (about 46 GB of a value).

Why does this happen? Can I stop it from happening? If so, how?

    Thank you.

Yes, it should be easy reset.

    It can be put in

    • Options-> | Advanced | --> | Network | -> Web content caching
      Management of auto-cache to replace]
    • See #w cached web-contentweb-content-_cached

Probably your auto adjustment has been replaced and the box should uncheck.

I know that Firefox split cache up like this IIRC it allows faster cache and solves fragmentation issues.

46GB which seems a surprising amount and cannot be good if he eats all the hard disk space. I also know that the file places.sqlite is a variable size, but it is based on the system in use.

The regular HTTP cache is also defined without doubt intelligently, but can be replaced by the user
    This has some background info

My own settings seen in everything: support are

    browser.cache.disk.capacity	358400
    browser.cache.disk.smart_size_cached_value	266240
    browser.cache.disk.smart_size.first_run	false

My use of the cache is limited to about 350 MB
