HARD drive not visible - how to install Windows XP on Satellite L300-11F

I downloaded + "The Intel Matrix Storage Management Utility for the management of your local storage space, including RAID support, including drivers you will need to provide the installation manual to make the HARD disk available to the operating system OS installer." +

But if I understand correctly this .exe file should be run from windows already. But I again Satellite-L300-11th without any operating system and drivers-CD in the box.

What should I do to begin installing Windows?

Hello

You need the Configuration utility 32-bit Intel Matrix Storage Manager disk since this page from Intel:
http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

You must boot from the CD of Win XP. Then, you must include the SATA driver using the F6 key. Note: you will need an external USB FDD drive to include the SATA drivers.

If you t, to an external USB FDD drive to use nLite software to create a new XP CD and include the SATA drivers.

See you soon

  • Hard drive not visible after installing Windows 7

My second hard drive is no longer visible in 'My Computer' since the installation of Windows 7 (new installation).   The two drives appear in Device Manager, and apparently both work correctly.  The hard drive I have Windows 7 on is the first SATA and the second hard drive (which is not visible) is the first IDE.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

Right-click on my computer, select manage.  On the next page, click Disk Management.  It will be displayed on the right side, just assign it a drive letter.

I went through the help files and I was told to call Acer. Acer has said that they do not have a boot disk for mine over because it's out of warranty. Hey Amanda Ekker

Acer would normally you sell records recovery vista for a nominal cost of $

If they do not have their read below

    borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Data from external hard drive not visible

My computer has been recently infected with the virus to restore Windows. As soon as I was aware, I unplugged my network cable and a drive external hard (without using to remove the device safely), who has all my data. I then used a previous restore point to get rid of the virus, which was apparently with success, because there is no remaining trace.

Now, the external hard drive is not visible in Explorer. Other utility programs say that the data is always there, but I can't see it or access it in the usual way. This drive worked perfectly up to this point. I tried to restart, unplug the external drive and reconnect it and using a different USB port, but so far nothing has worked.

How can I get Vista to recognize my external drive?

    Hello

Run the system restore will be not delete or remove the virus on the computer. System Restore helps you restore system files from your computer to an earlier point in time.

First I suggest you to run the check, and online virus scan if no malware or viruses detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

NOTE: Make sure that you select the correct version of the operating system before downloading the scanner)

For the problem with the external hard drive, follow the methods below:

    Method 1:

Check if the device is detected in Device Manager. Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click on start

    b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc

    (c) in the Device Manager window, locate the drive

    Method 2:

Run the fix it from the link below and check if it helps. Link: Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/

  • Reformat Windows 7 hard drive for the next clean install Windows ISO 10

This is in anticipation of the next clean install of Windows 10 ISO.

It is understood that I need to move from Win 7 to win 10 first, before clean install. (Select MS verify the legitimacy)

It is understood that I need to reformat the hard drive before a clean install.

It is also understood that the "recovery disk" can reformat the hard disk.

    ===================================================

One of my computers in Win 7 I would successfully created the "recovery discs. (Wonderful)

    --------------------

Problem:  My other Windows 7 (Vista upgrade) will not let me create the "recovery discs.

When you do: start / run / recovery

It allow me to create "backup and restore disks. (This is not the recovery disks that I need).

    ===========================

Question: How do I reformat my another computer on Windows 7 (Vista upgrade)?

Note: Two computers are different: the first is a HP, the other is a gateway.

("Partitions" of hard drives may be different.)

I don't know: if I can use the recovery made the first computer disc to reformat my second hard drive?  If this isn't the case, I'll be in trouble, because I don't know how to reformat my second computer.

You need to use the means to reinstall that you can upgrade Windows Vista Setup to format the drive.

The other system recovery media is likely to not work, but you can always try, but have appropriate reinstall media just in case.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

  • NB100 - 11G - HARD drive not detected during installation of Windows XP

I have a Toshiba NB100 - 11G with Win XP Home and a 160 GB HD RAM upgraded 1 024 to 2 GB. Recently, I tried to install Win Pro SP3. However, it did not work and the message was that the hard drive was not recognized. I have no problem restoring with the provided Toshiba Recovery CD (which has Win XP Home).

Does anyone have an idea why I couldn't install Win XP Pro? Could it be related to my RAM upgrade? (The only thing I changed.)

Thanks for a response. Sincerely, Allan.

    Hello

The problem is that you integrate the driver SATA Windows XP can detect the internal HARD drive. Otherwise, you get a blue screen or the HARD drive is not detected.

With the help of nLite (freeware tool), you can create a new drive to install XP with SATA driver package. This is described here:

  • How to install Windows XP on Satellite A300-146?

    Hi all

I need to know how can I install Windows XP on to my Toshiba Satellite A300-146 since I have windows vista with Arabic and this very bad.
I heard in the laptop we have a SATA hard drive and the problems of British Colombia, who has not read the material.

Also, I want to know how I can change vista from Arabic to English interface?

    How can configure LAN?

    Just a question;
Did you go through this forum and simple threads on this topic before you posted this new topic?

There is a lot of discussion on the installation of Win XP on laptops with SATA controller!
The procedure is always the same on most portable models!

You have 2 options; fade you assign compatible in the BIOS SATA mode and would not need to install the SATA drivers or you let the SATA AHCI mode and would include the SATA drivers using an external floppy drive you would have built a new disk Win XP using nLite software.

PS: SATA drivers are part of the Intel Storage Manager!

  • How to install Windows Xp on Satellite L300D?

How to expel C format Vista?

    Any advice?

    Hello!

What Windows XP disc do you have? Microsoft?

Maybe you should do a HARD drive low level format. You can do it with some tools. Google will help you.
I always use the Drive Fitness Test to do a low-level format:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT

But before you do, back up your data. The HARD drive will erase completely. Have you created a Toshiba Recovery disk? If this is not the case, to do this. Because when you want to reinstall Vista, you need this record.

On this forum, you will find a large number of discussions regarding the installation of Windows XP Home edition on laptops as A200/P200 or A300/P300, at the request of nLite which can help you to install Windows on your laptop.

  • How to install Windows 8 on Satellite C855-21W - no disc

    Hello

Recently my C855-21W SATELLITE HARD drive crashed. All the clothes of lost data.
    Series: YC273011R

Now, I would like to reinstall Windows 8.
But I have no CD /DVD and all partitions on the HARD disk are parties.

How can I reinstall Win 8 on the laptop again?
Where can I get a DVD?

    Thank you

    Hello

It's a shame but the HARD drive can still start to dysfunction and, therefore, it s advisable to create a recovery disc before you start using the laptop.

However, now you can create the recovery disk because the files are lost.
    Now, you have two options:

    (1) you can install the Windows 8 using Microsoft Win 8 disk (you will need to buy 8 win if you n t have it). The essential Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page

    (2) the second option is much easier: you could order the Toshiba recovery from this page http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disk and will mark the laptop back to the factory settings.

  • How to install Windows XP in Satellite Pro L300-1 to 9?

    Hello!

first of all, sorry if I ask something really obvious, but I'm quite new with this questions... sorry for my English, I'm not native.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 1 to 9 with Windows Vista preinstalled, but the thing is that I prefer Windows XP. I tried to install it, but it won't work.

I read a lot of messages and comments on this topic in this forum and also in the web. The problem is that I don't know if the procedure and drivers to download are the same for all models L300. Mine is L300 1 to 9.

Could someone give me a few extra simple instructions (I'm a beginner) on how solve this problem or a link to this question? I saw a lot of them, but none on this model L300 1 to 9.

    Thank you very much!!

    Hello!

What do you mean with it doesn t work to install Windows XP?
    Please explain this!

However, I think you forgot the SATA drivers. These drivers are required to install Windows XP, if your system is running in AHCI mode for better performance.
The drivers, you can download the Toshiba site or on Intel:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers
