Why force Windows Installer updates without my consent?

* Bought a new computer, the other day. [Windows Home 7]
* Set Windows Update to "Download updates but let me choose whether to install them".
* When I turned my computer off, Windows began installing more than 50 updates automatically without my consent.
I never had a message about the update ready to be installed. So clearly, I never said Windows to install updates.

Why Windows force install Windows updates without my consent to the judgment?

I've only visited a Web site, and it's a website that I trust. Would he still could be a Virus?

If it's a Virus, restoring my system to factory Conditions removes the Virus? [By using the option available on my computer. Do not use a Windows CD. ]

[1].. .a Norton free trial came with the computer (as it does with almost all computers), however, I did not accept the terms. Or fact, I install the program... Since I posted this question, I came back the computer back to factory settings...

[2] FireFox. I use Internet Explorer to download Firefox. I disable access to IE that FireFox is installed

[3] I use CCleaner to scan the registry from time to time. It is not something that happens too often.

Fact: Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not to uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

A1. After you"returned the computer configuration", do you have a uninstall Norton free trialware AND THEN b download/run the Norton removal tool [1] & (c) reboot before installing the suite AVG (or any other antivirus application) AND BEFORE the installation of any Windows updates AND BEFORE you changed your setting again?

A2. Nevertheless, Internet Explorer is part & parcel of your operating system. IE9 works correctly when you choose to use it (after re-enabling access to even)?

A3. Comment: Your misguided use of registry cleaners may be (or may have been) plays a role here. TIP: If you ever think that your registry database must be cleaned, repaired, boosted, point, healed, twisted, fixed, magnified, "swept" or optimized (it isn't), read http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-windows-fact-of-life.aspx and draw your own conclusions.

Why force Adobe installs their new Flash drive on billions of computers when it is causing so many browsers only play video?

I had installed the Flash Player 11.2.202.228 28/03/2012 and it worked very well, unlike some of the previous Flash players in several web browsers, so I chose NOT to install a new actors Flash that came after that, all based on experience.

But last Friday, 22/06/2012, I received a new message to install Adobe Flash Player that came in my office for the new Flash Player v 11.3.300.262 and I chose NOT to install it for the reason I said above... and the look now at all the problems this new Flash player has caused for so many people.

Now I see glancing at my Add-ons Manager in my Firefox browser, and in my program Panel of Windows 7 in the control panel that the stupid new Flash Player v 11.3.300.262 has been INSTALLED FORCE behind my back, even if I don't install certainly NOT it and I deleted the installation Panel when he came to my office on Friday.

And now no videos or content Flash will not play in my Firefox browser! Good job Adobe!

What is the Adobe problem?... why you require the software on our computers that obviously was not installed by the user, and then screw it to the top of our computers.

How to explain something like that?

Now, I have to troubleshoot it and try to install my old Flash Player.

    Why?

Having click on classic view on the left side of the Control Panel window, which should show all of the icons and allow him to see the Flash Player icon.  The alternative is to type 'flash player' in the control panel search box which should be also.

Note also that change the auto update to "notify me to install updates" will only delay the process of 30 days.  After 30 days, the update will be installed automatically.  You can completely disable this by changing it to "never check", but I would certainly recommend against that.

Why the Windows Installer keep popping up, either on a web page or an e-mail to the office when nothing is installed.  No way to stop that... ?

The desktop of your computer, click on the tab "Start", usually located at the bottom left of the screen (on Vista, it's maybe the windows symbol instead of the word 'Start').

Now, find and click on the program title 'run '. Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the area of research at the bottom of the menu 'start '.

Once you open 'Run', type 'MSCONFIG' in the empty box and click 'OK '. This will open the System Configuration utility.

With the open System Configuration utility, select the tab "Services".

Scroll down the list of services (it may be advantageous to click on the 'service' column to sort the services by alphabetical order) until you find the program "Windows Installer".

Now, click on the checkbox next to the name of the Windows Installer and click on the button 'Disable' at the bottom of the Configuration of the system.

  • How to get normal Windows 7 updates without installing Windows 10?

    Hello world

I've been a happy user of Windows 7 and have always wanted to have Microsoft warn me of updates are available for my system. I am very careful to keep them, but I want to install them manually, myself.

Two days earlier, Windows Update started showing the Windows 10 to upgrade, as an important update and advised me to... "Start install now."

I've been delaying this until I have decide exactly WHEN to do it, on my own terms. Is there a program that I use and that has quite developed a version of Win 10 still. I want to improve when that is developed.

However, I am now unable to install any other updates to my Windows 7 operating system, without having to install Windows 10.

I tried to get the optional update, which is available now, but cannot because the... "Start installation now..." Win 10 update starts automatically as soon as I decide to download the optional update.

It is the first time this has ever happened, and it is really annoy me.

Is it possible to continue to get Windows 7 upgrades without HAVING to install Win 10?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

I found this and followed the instructions for the 'response '.  Make sure that you restart your computer after masking the KB3035583 update.

  • Why the Windows Installer is called launch of CHM

    Hi all

I use RoboHelp 10 to create CHM files. The results so far look great, with one exception.  When we launch our CHM file, on some machines, it causes a pop-up Windows Installer.  He is looking for our Revit.MSI file.  The problem is illustrated in this video: http://screencast.com/t/JaajIML0gkBS

I can solve the problem in two ways:

    1. who rejected dialogue works, so it is not preventing the CHM to work, that's all just annoying.

    2. I can also plug my USB key that contains this MSI, but it is only a temporary solution.  Which means in fact it does not try to install anything, he just wants to know that the MSI exists.

This problem occurs on some machines, but not all.  Our former CHM files, created with another tool, do not have this problem, so I guess that's unique to RoboHelp or something in my project. I spent a bunch of time on the forums and just empty.  Our programming staff is also perplexed.

I tried this solution but it did not help: http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2012/10/resolving-chm-file-error-in-robohelp.html

I did an update of RoboHelp to see also if this could solve the question and I saw the log files when the CHM is created and do not see anything that seemed to call the other program.

I hope that it is a matter of upgrading certain aspects of Robohelp to prevent this.  Any tips?

Thanks much for the advice on troubleshooting.

    Kind regards

    Glynnis

    Hello again

Well, it gets sorta summary here in recent years. Why? Due to the advent of 64-bit operating systems.

See, if you just double-click on a CHM file and you are on a system 64-bit, you are probably using the 64-bit version of the HTML Help Viewer. But if you click on the button view immediately after the compilation, RoboHelp likely launch the 32-bit version of the HTML Help Viewer. (Two applications different and two different experiences possible)

The only thing I can understand that RoboHelp * COULD * be influence here is * IF *, your CHM is using the glossary tab or browse sequences. If so, a file named HHActiveX.dll is used. This file is specific RoboHelp for this role. Other than that, it's just a CHM.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Windows Installer costs without disc?

A couple of years ago, I received a (pre-built) computer of PCWorld and as of late I had some fairly large problems involving viruses because of the Oracle publishes a java patched version is riddled with security flaws even more before the patch that they corrected... and now I have the famous zeroaccess rootkit (and not on this computer). The computer being pre-built they failed with windows disk you can do fresh installs unless it was made to measure. I don't see why I should folk £100 + for a new windows disk when I updated to Windows every time there's an update and I have a bit of protection best firewall/AV (2 anti-virus + malwarebytes.

Don't see how it's fair for me to pay for something when I did everything in my power to protect me even Windows is a virus magnet, do you think I should be forced to pay £100 + when I've already spent £800 on the computer + £120 on my AV protection still Windows decides to always get infected because these updates that are apparently meant to make you more more sure infact done the opposite.

    Hello

When a company sells you a new computer, they must provide you with a way to reinstall the operating system, either through a recovery Partition, or providing you with a recovery disc to buy time.

Contact PC World and demand media re-systems

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Windows Installer update package possible flaw of sequence

Windows Update improves system performance and security by replacing system files with new versions of them, which may not contain vulnerabilities that seniors did. However, I noticed the update numbers are essentially random during installation, so the old updates can be installed after the most recent. If these updates fixes a problem to update the same file, it could possibly lead to the situation where such sequence leaves me with the old version of the file than the last? I understand that automatic updates or regular updates checks these situations should not occur, but Windows 7 is installed on an old drive (without SP 1) installs to 400 updates after installation, so it might be vulnerable.

I'm trying to find out how we installed windows8 on my hp laptop without cd disc? Can someone help me

Windows 8.0 versions are all updates except the OEM (System Builder and all require a previous version of Windows to be installed at installation time.) OEM version is the only exception and can be purchased online at several retailers, such as for example New EGG or Amazon.  Hope this helps and if you need any additional aid station and we will be happy to help you.
