  I am running Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit), and can not get the tuner DVB Asus recognized. Windows tried to install it as STK 7700 and failed miserably, so that the disk that came with it (and who worked under Vista Home Premium 32-bit) will install but won't play ball with the system either.   I installed a suite of burningb of CD and DVD on my Toshiba (under Vista Home Premium). My CD/DVD drive appeared more in the computer and was no longer functional. I deleted the program I installed and apparently caused the problem, but it did not help. I have read through the help of Microsoft (929461, 314060) documents and used the Fix - It utility. Also unsuccessful. I discovered the response of Martin, the technical support engineer made on May 5, 2009. I followed his instructions with great success. However, my question now is this: I have still some remains of the problem left over. I get an error message at startup saying, 'InstaBurn UDF driver is not installed correctly. Run the InstaBurn installation program. ' InstaBurn is part of the suite of the copy (hotpics by Nova Development Corp.).  I also have an error message of my reader DVD Toshiba saying that the DVD player does not work - although it is. I played a DVD as a test on it after that I followed the instructions above. How can I remove these error messages annoying that aren't accurate?  Would appreciate any information about this minor - but annoying problem.

• Why not show 16-bit application icons upward from Windows Vista?

  Here's something that was so irritating since Windows Vista. I never solved the problem, but had to use a workaround by extracting a program's icon while running the extraction Windows XP programs, then using that ico file in any shortcuts to different 16-bit programs. In other cases, I use the icon found within a 32-bit program.

  Nothing seems to work when you create a link to the old DOS programs for DOS programs.

  Many of these programs, I always use cannot be replaced and will be replaced for various reasons.

  The problem is, whenever I try to create shortcuts to programs BACK, try to use icons in MORICONS. DLL does not work as it did in Windows XP. A similar problem occurs when you create shortcuts to 16-bit programs.

  In other situations, create shortcuts to files allows to change icons, but the second that the shortcut is pointing to a program icon disappears and I get the default icon of the "white paper" on my desktop and it cannot be changed.

  I thought what to do my usual solution, although it is an inconvenience, would suffice but also extract icons from 16-bit programs does not seem to work as expected in Windows 7 or in Windows Vista. The flavours of Windows and a number of programs that can be used to extract the icons give the error "the file contains no icons" when I know for a fact that the 16-bit Windows exe files contain actually icons! Windows Vista or Windows 7 can 'see' them.
