I have Windows Vista, but I get a pop up asking me to install Windows 8.  I'm not a computer Wizard, LOL.  I use my computer for basic, surf, talk to friends and to the these.  Do I have to install it or not?

    Hello

There is no such thing as Windows 8. Maybe it's spyware so leave well alone. First of all I suggest you do a complete virus check of your system. I assume that your system has antivirus software to protect your system?

Download the free version of Malwarebytes Anti Malware (www.malwarebytes.org ) install this application and do a full scan to see if it picks up nothing. Original title: "Windows Security".

I have Vista Home Premium with SP 2. In Windows Mail, logon security keeps popping up asking me to check the user name and password. This happens from time to time for many months and I've always got to work but happened several times today.  I can sign in the server through my ISP and get email. In Windows mail, I confirmed that the name of username-password is the same that I connect through the ISP.  I can't front/send by email but receive in Windows mail.

Server response: '-ERR [IN USE] account is locked by another session or for maintenance, try again.',

So wait a while and try again later.  You can also go to their website and log on there to see if it works.

  • I have windows vista and when I click on a shortcut on the desktop I have a pop up asking what file to open it with. In order to open the file I find the actuall file.

    Original title: registry exe problem

I have windows vista and when I click on a shortcut on the desktop I have a pop up asking what file to open it with. In order to open the file I find the actuall file. This also occurs when you download the software, which makes it difficult, because the file is not on the pc yet. All solutions?

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type sfc in the search box, right-click to SFC. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Windows Mail: Get a pop-up asking for my username and password

    Original title: "windows mail problem"

From yesterday I can't open Windows Mail.  I get a pop up asking for my username and password.  I was sure that I had good, but since then I have rebuilt the account and still get the same pop up.  This is what happens in the error message:

Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] username/password invalid ', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

I downloaded Windows Live Mail and that no longer works.  I tried to configure Outlook and got the same result.  I have another identity on this computer and it works fine.  I read that Norton and MacAfee can have that effect, but I don't have one or the other.  I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials this week and email worked fine up until yesterday.   I contacted ATT, but they do not support Windows Mail.  I need more ideas here.

Check with AT & T, or the Yahoo Server. They have made of your user name and password. Compare them with those that you entered when you first set up the account.
The rest of the settings of your look ok to me.

Firefox asked me to upgrade my sound system & in the process, I have installed a Zombie and I can't uninstall it in Windows 7 via my control panel. I expected more of Firefox as a privacy feature!

Sorry to hear about this, you should always beware of the pop-ups - never open or install anything, unless it is on the official website. Firefox has built-in features (and extensions that you need to find and install) to protect your privacy and security, but all users must still be careful with their browsing habits. • Why don't Windows (or the Photo app) read more a picture of the USB port?

Why do Rt Windows reads only one photo at a time a USB plugged into the USB port?  I had imagined that the Photo app would be able to see the drive and move from one photo to another, but it does not work.
I have tried using Windows Explorer to slect all the pictures, and then click right and select 'open' from the menu.  Only a single open photo.  He need to return several times to explore, click on the following picture, wait until it opens, etc..

On my desktop PC (a Dell running Windows 7), Windows Photo Viewer will open one and then pass that one to what is provided for in the same folder, by clicking on the button "Next" or "previous."  Works with both files on the disk hard and files on a USB key.  Seems pretty obvious to me.

    Am I missing something?

(PS: I'm sure that someone else asked this, but a couple of searches do not turn up quite the same question.)

Last updated on 15/07/13: I managed to solve this problem. All I had to do was to rename the folder in the case to be 'Photos' instead 'photos.' It's a trick that I had read some time ago and had not followed. Once I renamed the mounted folder (because it shows on the C drive), the photos are visible in the Photos app.   Curiously, the photos appear but not the name of the subfolder. Not really a major problem, but a little... weird, maybe.

    Hi Benzman,

    1. what other app are you talking about where the photos are working properly?
    2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?
    3. What is the format of these photos?

I tried on my side, and it works correctly.
a: I clicked on the Windows Logo + E to bring up Windows Explorer.
b: then I selected all the photos and then right-click on it and choose Open.
c: open photos, and then I click on the arrows to navigate to other photos.

    Hello

Charms bar / peripheral (what you call the sidebar) is used to access and use a specific device installed since in the modern user interface applications.

The component devices in the settings of the PC is used to install and configure devices.

    Example:

You want to install a printer. Connect the printer to the computer and open laptop settings / devices tab and select Add a device.

If you want to use the printer from an application, such as the Photos App, open the app and select a photo. View the bar of charms, and then click devices. You should see the printer option there you can click to print the photo.

If you select the devices in an application and there is no possible peripheral action, you will see the Second screen (default) option and the message that "nothing can be sent to .

    Example 2:

If you use a desktop application and you want to print, use the traditional options of in applications of the file Menu.
