I would like to know why my pc. slow, this is a windows 7 edition starter from asus inc.

Hello

1. is the slow computer when you work with a particular application, such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, or games?

2 have you installed new hardware or software before the show?

3. who is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

Whatever the cause, there are lots of ways to help speed up Windows and make your PC work even without upgrading your hardware.

You can consult this article to improve the performance of the computer.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause

  • Is the another great category why my computer is slow?

I get a lot of beach and the General slow balls spinning this month.

One thing I checked last week my storage status. 237 free GB to 999 GB and 618 for which is the category "other"!  I hate this wave "other" category. Here is a screenshot.

You can see that I have barely keep anything on my internal drive. I don't have a lot of applications. The ones I use regularly is Mail, Safari, Lightroom and Photoshop.

A few years ago I learned about a procedure in disk utility to completely erase the disk space, but when I went to do, I couldn't find more, as El Capitan got rid of him. Is there something similar I can do?

Is this large amount of yellow on the bar as alarming as it looks and probably why my computer is slow?

    Thank you!

p.s. in another thread, I will post about a glitch that happens with my trash. Maybe it's related.

The function of Secure Erase of Trash was removed to El Capitan. One of the reasons was that it worked as expected. The other is that it reduces the life expectancy of the SSD.

I would suggest your download and install OmniDiskSweeper. When you rum ODS, it will tell you the names of the files and folders that use the most space. You can then decide for yourself or ask us what can be detected or moved.

The first step in the process must be a full backup of everything.

  • X140e why it is so slow

Why is it so slow? This was my first purchase of laptop in 4 years and I think the NEW Lenovo is slower than my last (an hp computer that cost $300). I got this x140e recommended by a computer scientist at my college, after the death of my old laptop in a flood. so why this computer costs $500 if she is so slow? and what I can do to fix this? is there something or am I stuck with a computer that takes 10 seconds to switch between the tabs? and I've been to 3 separate internet connections, who had the same result, super slow X140e. I'm doing something wrong?

I had the same problem. The problem is that the system of stock only comes with 2 GB of RAM, and integrated graphics subsystem takes 512 MB off for video application. If you have only 1.5 GB free memory left!

Since the X140E has two memory slots, I added 4 GB of RAM so I with the existing 2 GB 6 GB total. Now the machine is much more responsive and faster. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and it is not nearly as slow more.

Check the Task Manager, I can see the average BONE needs from 1.7 to 2 GB of RAM for light loads and > 2 GB for heavy loads. So the 1.5 GB available in a stock system is not enough RAM to all!

If yours has only 2 GB I would add a little more. I really think that the X140E should come with 4 GB as a default, because performance is hampered with 2 GB. I can say in my situation as adding RAM helped.

  • Why the printer stop printing when you click Cancel?

This may belong in the Technet forum, but this is a question that concerns me since the days of Windows 95.

Sometimes striking impression make you you screwed up in a certain way and to cancel the print job. Enter the printer, right click on the document and hit Cancel usually takes some time, during which the printer keeps printing and waste of ink & paper.
Why is this? Why doesn't it stop immediately? Why do several PAGES for it to stop? Come to think of it, I can't think of a time casual since I left high school (which uses Mac and Apple printers) when I have not tried to stop a print job to a printer that was not Hewlett-Packard (an HP printer from ""), so I'm not sure if it is exclusive to HP or not. Work used to stop printing almost immediately after order - Macintosh printing, or at least they did with printers ImageWriter and LaswerWriter Mac OS 6.0.8 - 9.1.
This is not the case with Windows 95 - Windows 7.

I used to assume it had something to do with the buffer memory of the printer, but a recent incident involving someone accidentally unplugging the computer when the printer was on changed this long assumption based on my experience when I bought a buffer for my printer ImageWriter II return to 1989 or 1990. Printing stopped almost immediately after the computer that it was connected to the lost power (he tried to disconnect a faulty device so that it could be shipped to the manufacturer and pulled the wrong plug).

This phenomenon embarrassing occurs on several different computers, printers and configurations. School computer laboratories on the areas of small business workgroups to systems of the House with the directly connected printer.

    Hi, SlickRCBD,

The memory has a lot to do with why this does not block when cancelled.  There may be an older doc who is was filed here.  Unplug the printer from the computer periodically.  Leave that he unplugged for several minutes (5 max), then reconnect.  Remove the cables that connect to the back of the printer for the same amount of time.  This clears the memory.

    Open elevated command prompt

    Enter Net Stop Spooler

    Wait message spooler stopped

    Go to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder

Search for files ending with. SPL and. SHD created around the time that you were trying to print - delete these files.

Return to the command prompt window

    Type Net Start Spooler

You will see message spooler has begun

    Output

Sometimes the files are hungup.  The above gets rid of them.

I have a new laptop of HP 15-ac151dx. Right out of the box, I noticed that the company becomes exteremly slow when I unplug the charger.  As soon as I plug in the charger, the speed is very good.  It works fine on a wired connection with the charger plugged in or unplugged.

    2. remove the checkmark beside: ALLOW the COMPUTER TO TURN THIS DEVICE OFF SAVE tab managemnt Realtek RTL8188EE wifi power adapter.  I also didi this on Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller.

You probably don't want to disable one at a time.  Try groups of 20 or 30 at a time.  I'm not sure you need restart between trials.  Some extensions of the sample I tested were immediately disabled and right click on a file did not show the options for this extension.  It wouldn't surprise me that you will not be able to disable each extension.  Work with those that you can and see if something helps you.  Look in the 'File name' column and suspect that any file that begins with "------" or a drive letter that does not correspond to a hard drive on your system.

If you do not want to use RegScanner, do the same with Regedit.  Run Regedit (start-> Run-> 'regedit'), simple click on 'My Computer' to select it, make an edition-> find, enter your------the field search and click "next".  It stops at the next occurrence.  Press the F3 key to find the one that follows after that.  I think you will find that there are many references to '-', some occurring in places that you probably want to touch.  Unless you know what you're doing, editing the registry can be dangerous.  Always back up the registry first before making any changes.
