X140e why it is so slow

Why is it so slow? This was my first purchase of laptop in 4 years and I think the NEW Lenovo is slower than my last (an hp computer that cost $300). I got this x140e recommended by a computer scientist at my college, after the death of my old laptop in a flood. so why this computer costs $500 if she is so slow? and what I can do to fix this? is there something or am I stuck with a computer that takes 10 seconds to switch between the tabs? and I've been to 3 separate internet connections, who had the same result, super slow X140e. I'm doing something wrong?

I had the same problem. The problem is that the system of stock only comes with 2 GB of RAM, and integrated graphics subsystem takes 512 MB off for video application. If you have only 1.5 GB free memory left!

Since the X140E has two memory slots, I added 4 GB of RAM so I with the existing 2 GB 6 GB total. Now the machine is much more responsive and faster. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and it is not nearly as slow more.

Check the Task Manager, I can see the average BONE needs from 1.7 to 2 GB of RAM for light loads and > 2 GB for heavy loads. So the 1.5 GB available in a stock system is not enough RAM to all!

If yours has only 2 GB I would add a little more. I really think that the X140E should come with 4 GB as a default, because performance is hampered with 2 GB. I can say in my situation as adding RAM helped.

p.s. in another thread, I will post about a glitch that happens with my trash. Maybe it's related.

The function of Secure Erase of Trash was removed to El Capitan. One of the reasons was that it worked as expected. The other is that it reduces the life expectancy of the SSD.

Muse is incredibly slow... I'm working on a very simple site... the file is only 9.3 MB. No idea why it runs so slow? I use a trial version of Muse because I want to see how it behaves and if she could be a good purchase for me, but if it runs it slow I don't know if I want to buy it...

The Muse is still wobbly, so I just rebuilt from zero and no problems so far. He must have gotten corrupted somehow.

  • Why is it so slow Firefox! It takes 10 minutes to load, then 5 minutes to change between different pages. I have version 22, it is getting worse.

It seems the newer version of Firefox, it gets the slower. What is the BEST version to download to use? This used to be a fast browser, now it takes 10 minutes to load. I did all this mentioned on the historic authorized help page, hides, scanned the computer, deleted Firefox and reinstalled, but it does not work.

Chrome runs circles around Firefox, it will load in 10 seconds approximately and will work in MANY games better Firefox - using games is totally impossible with Firefox. I need to know which version is the fastest and has the best notes. It looks newer, it gets, the worse it works.

    Help!

I have the same problem with Firefox 25.0.1. It happened months and I'm tired of it. I can't even watch a video in Firefox - YouTube or something - because it is always too rough. I don't have this problem with Chrome or Opera. And Chrome is lightning fast.

I won't try Firefox in Mode without failure. Why should I? I will not uninstall other browsers, remove plugins (I don't really have a lot and they work very well in Chrome and Opera), or remove a file called User.js, if I have it. It is a bunch of nonsense. Firefox 25.0.1 works, or is not, without having to do all these things. So, I do not use Firefox any longer.

  • Why is it so slow on Satellite A300 PSAG8E SSD

    Hi, guys

Please help me with the following question. I would like an admin to help me please, or someone very experienced, if possible.

2 weeks ago, I bought a Satellite A300 PSAG8E. A couple of months before the purchase of this laptop, I had also bought a disc SSD OCZ 64 GB core series v2. I tried several times to install the SSD drive on the laptop, but the answer during the installation of windows and after that when using, the reader response is very, very slowly. It is still slower than with its original 250 GB drive. I compared the SSD with SISOFT SANDRA and confirmed my impression.

The SSD was assessed at 5400 RPM, strangely the same speed as the original HD 250 GB supplied with the machine.
I've used different windows CD (including one with SP3) and earlier with SP2, the two original windows, but nothing has changed. I then installed my SSD on my desktop computer and installation and use in the windows environment, is incredibly fast. I put it on the laptop and it's still very, very slowly.

What is going on? Do you have any suggestions? Y at - it a bug using the SSD on my model?
    Y at - it a firmware update?
I think it has something to do with the transfer rate of the laptop. Can you help me please?
    What can I do?

    Kind regards
    Dionisis Falireas

    Hello

May I ask how you installed the Windows XP operating system on this new SSD?

As suggested above the SATA drivers must be installed or included in the Win XP operating system.
The SATA drivers are located in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
The package contains the necessary drivers and theses drivers allow you to use the full capacity of SATA controller.
Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the page of Toshiba and Intel page.

By the way; It seems that the OCZ 64 GB SSD supports SATA II but I m quote do not know if your A300 supports SATA II or SATA only.
If it supports only SATA, then this might be the reason why your SSD does not work with the best performance.

    Good bye

  • Why is it so slow FPGA?

Hi, I am fairly new to real-time and FPGA programming.  I read a lot about speed problems, such as some modules slows the rest unless you use their own lines, and using fifo to move data more quickly.

But for now, I'm just a simple reading and a simple LED control.  If you look at my code that I have attached, you will see the readings in a loop and the LED control in its own loop.  I have the LED just turn every 1/2 second. (The counties of ticks are set to mSec, 8 bit)  But when the code is running on my FPGA, the LED flashes only every other 12.5 seconds.  It's basically 25 times slower than expected.

I also have a counter tick sending its value to my code in real time, which also has its own meter of ticks, and both are to get connected.  When I look at the counter of the two side by side tick data, it shows time to counter tick in real-time is perfect, but the fpga tick counter time is way slower.  It ends up being 25 times slower.

Why the FPGA reports that it runs so slow?  It's going slowly? Or is the meter tick does not properly? I understand how it works?  Although there are more slow IO modules causing the fpga to run more slowly, the counters of the tick must still report the right to the exact time?

What is possibly sense as to why I get this behavior?

    Thank you

    JES-

    Hey Jes,

In view of these figures, I think what have seen you, it is correct. Assuming a 40 MHz clock, the calculation is:

    500 Mticks / 40 Mticks/s = 12.5 sec.

The 32-bit parameter does not affect the behavior of timing, he controls just what tick counter height can go without flipping.

  • Why Windows 7 extremely slow on your laptop just multitasking ordinary?

Okay, so it is a mystery to me. I'm a tech guy, btw.

The scenario: I use a little old laptop with 2 GB of RAM. Have virtual memory turned on,

In ADDITION, have a very fast USB plugged into USB 2.0 and implemented with 4 GB ReadyBoost.

Using Windows 7 and this notebook can handle.

Normally, the laptop works very well and is sensitive with place for 4-5 open applications. However, recently,.

When I open several pages in a browser, it will slow down abruptly to the point where it takes 30-60 seconds

Press the close button on a page and see my click and everything is not responding. I'm not talking about slowing down a bit,

I want to talk about a sharp slowdown in the overall system which lasts 10 to 20 minutes, until what I managed to close some windows,

each takes about a minute to close. Then it accelerates again.

I checked the memory usage, and my programs use not yet 2 GB of physical RAM when this slowdown happens! But even if the

pagefile is written it there is no way that this should make Windows so brutally fails. In addition, I have too many 4 gigs of readyboost.

Something is very wrong with that and I'm curious as to why this phenomenon occurs and how can I solve it?

No I don't have any spyware, as I said I'm a tech person, this is the basis. I know all this,

It's something to do with the way Windows is not able to be managed properly.

An overview of what on Earth is happening here would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

IE uses a lot of resources, especially CPU is what you slow down as only
have 2 GB of physical RAM. ReadyBoost can help, however, this is only disc (caching speeds
reading on the rise) and is not a replacement for real RAM.

pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • Why Mac Pro is slow at the opening of the apps?

Compare to the other mac, my mac pro is so slow at the opening of the apps and any other use. Memory is 4 GB and still half store is available. This place since the case open. But other Mac that we have in the House so different from mine. Should I call it Karma? Next to no where my CD player does not read any CD more. If original or a cheap it is not serious. Additionally CDs can only release by restarting my mac.

Mac Pro 13 inch Mid 2012

    I5 2.5 GHz

    4G

    Macintosh HD

    CPWMJ7Y5DTY3

    500 G (280 G available storage) storage

Should I upgrade my ram from 8 G to get faster in opening applications, using Microsoft Office, gaming, etc.?

Should I change my CD player? (If I have it is so so so expensive being honest).

  • In Mac Os Sierra why is he suddenly slow opening of folders of bookmarks in the sidebar of Safari?

Since the installation of Mac Os Sierra I'm suddenly affected by a very slow opening and closing bookmark next to Safari bar files when I click on them.  Regularly, it takes 3 seconds for a file to open or close to display the list of bookmarks in a file.  Does anyone else know this?  Trying to solve the problem, I have repaired the Mac HD, emptied all my caches in the library in the Finder, reset the PRAM and am now ideas.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in the Preferenes system, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.
