Why is taking hours to load after the last iTunes update?

I have Windows 7. I don't know even how long it actually takes to potentially - more than 2-3 hours - open 6-7 hours. I woke up this morning and it was finally opened after I clicked on it last night. This is certainly new behavior with the last update. The document "about iTunes" is quite annoying, because in fact it does not specify which version is installed - this should be at the top of the document, I think. However when I run "Apple Software Update" it says "your software is up-to-date." It is not very useful as a music player more if it takes 3 to 7 hours to open - pretty amazing honestly. In addition, it does not show even any UI again. The Task Manager Windows says that iTunes.exe and iTunesHelper.exe are running and showing 0% CPU, so it doesn't seem to do much. That's happened? This is unacceptable.

More information: it seems to be stuck in the Windows kernel somewhere as "taskkill /f /im itunes.exe" is not actually kill him - even though it claims too - she is still ongoing in the Task Manager and rekilling he said the same thing:

    Try SafeMode as the first step.

    Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that might not start correctly, or that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. If a problem does not reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic as possible cause device drivers. If a program recently installed, device, or driver prevents Windows from running correctly, you can start your computer in safe mode, and then remove the program that is causing the problem.

    You can also perform a restore of the system on your computer and check if the problem persists.

    Attn: Microsoft Brainiacs; IT IS VERY ANNOYING!
    attached pps files won't open if clicked in outlook express/ie8 after automatic update more recent.
    When I try to open files pps attached, this is what I get.
    a box with a red x will appear and this is the message;
    "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action.
    Create an association in the FOLDER OPTIONS Control Panel."
     
    Before the automatic update, this function worked fine.
    Also, the association for pps files is still there in the Folder Options Control Panel.
    and more if I save the pps file attached somewhere / anywhere and then click on it, it opens fine.
    .. This failure to launch opening pps files attached, that happened after the latest Automatic update,
    .. just one more why people hate automatic updates or updates of any kind.

  • iMac does not start after the last security update

    After the last update my iMac (late 2009, El Capitan) does not start.

    Thanks for the reply. I understand the problem. After the last update, it must have been a change to the firewall. I was finally able to reinstall the FIRST printer by turning off the firewall. This allowed me to see the printer and reinstall it. It worked very well after turning on the rear firewall after installation.

    I have been using Thunderbird without any problems and just after the latest Automatic update, happened the other day, I can not receive or send e-mails to all. I checked all the settings of accounts and find nothing has changed. I think it's a problem with the update? I don't see any way to update or install the program without losing emails or information.   • Some pages are not loading after the last update v39.

    After the updated 07/07, pages many (but not all) which worked well previously are now time and need to be recharged to load (for the first time, somehow). Started by clearing cache, then checked for malware and ended by reinstalling Firefox. I copied my profile, rather than starting from scratch with extensions (about 5 only execution).

    All of these problematic pages open correctly in Internet Explorer.

    Any ideas? Thank you very much.

    As test, please disable McAfee. It caused problems.

  • BDP 3100 Youtube freeze and Yupp TV does not work after the last firmware update

    My Youtube app on the Bluray Sony BDP - S3100 drive freezes when I play any video. It says LOADING... and plays the video completely. But the Player hangs and I have to be able to market. This started happening since yesterday is to say 26/06/2013.

    The other problem is with the YUPP TV App.

    After my latest firmware upgrade June 4, 2013 live channels on the YUPP TV app does not work peoperly. It says loading and will market every 5 to 10 seconds. On demand videos are very good. This began to happen immediately after the upgrade on June 4, 2013 (M14. R.0136). but after that, there was a more updated firmware that says that connectivity issues fixed on 08/06/2013 (M14 Version. R.0138). I've updated on my player. Yupp TV questions are still there. YouTube has been fine since then, but then the Youtube above issue started happening since yesterday and I have reported to the Youtube community as well.

    Could you fix Yupp TV, I'm sure that updating the firmware.  Also please check if Yout tube is with the firmware...

    At least I'm not alone, until a few days earlier, alls well, now, I have the same problem, so that makes three of us.  New default factory setting does not so I think a firmware issue, all other channels & functions outside of youtube look... very annoying

    Hello, I upgraded my imac (late 2009) to El Captitan, a few days ago and everything went well and I had no problem to use it after the upgrade.

    Yesterday I tried to update the last security fix (2016-001 10.11.6) and now it will not re - start. I get a clear grey screen with a circle with a line through it.

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It is my understanding of your light a circle with a bar symbol backslash when you try to start your iMac. I use my iMac every day and I would be very concerned if he does not start correctly. I'm happy to help you.

    This particular screen means that your Mac could not find a valid system folder from upward. I recommend that you try reinstalling OS X using OS X Recovery. Please follow the steps below.

    To boot from OS X Recovery, hold down the command (⌘) r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo. If you can not boot from OS X Recovery, now try the Command + Option + R key at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.

    I have a backup, but what is the name of the contacts file so that I can restore the backup?  After that the last operating system updated, the contacts file is empty.

    If you use Time Machine for backup, you can open the app on your Mac and then click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar and then click on "Enter Time Machine".

    Welcome! The forums you'll find helping hands, solutions and suggestions! I understand that you don't have a cursor after an update has been done.

    Have you tried to go to Safe Mode to see if the problems persist in there?

    Have you tried uninstalling the driver for the Touchpad, restart your laptop twice, then reinstall the driver for the Touchpad?

    Have you tried to use an external mouse to see if it's only the Touchpad?

    Here is a document for you called using the touchpad or the ClickPad. This document can help you with problems you encounter with the missing cursor.

    Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

    Have you tried to uninstall the Windows Update?

    If this isn't the case, please follow these instructions and see if they help.

    • Safe Mode boot
    • In the search type Control Panel
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click on programs and features
    • Click view installed updates
    • Click the drop-down list next to installed on
    • Select the dates when these problems began to occur
    • Go to the shows updates
    • Right-click on the update
    • Click on Uninstall

    Please uninstall all updates made on this date. When you're done, restart your laptop twice.

    If this does not change anything, please use the system restore feature and choose a date that was before the problems began.

    To use the system restore in Windows 10:

    • Go to the Search
    • Type of Control Panel
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click System
    • Click on the System Protection
    • Click the System Protection tab
    • Click on System Restore
    • Click Next
    • Select "Choose a different restore point"
    • Click Next
    • A box that says "Restore your computer to the State it was in prior to the event selected" will pop up
    • Choose event
    • Click Next
    • Click Finish
    • Click Yes to confirm

    When the system restore is complete, you'll be up a pop that says that it has been completed.
