Why is the button enter on my keyboard opens the power settings?

For some reason, my laptop is listening out right now. It is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li2735 running Windows 7 32 bit. For some reaosn, when I press the Enter key, it opens a shortcut to the Power Options menu. He did this for about five minutes now, and I think I know why - I was playing a game on Facebook called keyboard Mash. I must have pressed both keys and caused this to happen. Is there a way I can fix this, because I'm seriously confused.

Hello

Because we are not sure what caused this problem on your computer, I suggest to do a system restore on your computer and check to see if it helps you get your enter key to function normally.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

4. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Access the link below to see the system restore:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore

Also, you can very if the other function keys are struck in your keyboard on your laptop.

If the problem persists, let us know if this happens when you use a particular application or any application?

Also check the Enter key if it works normally using Notepad.

You can also check on your laptop keyboard and check if it helps. Access the link below and follow the steps to use and modify the keyboard layout.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

    Hi Dave,.

You have the "Toshiba common Modules" installed? They must first of all for many models of Toshiba, and power settings module is an add-on for that.

If you do not have the appropriate restoration or the utility CD handy, the drivers can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba website.

I hope this helps, let us know how you go

  • What is the definition of inactivity in the power settings?

What is the definition of inactivity in the power settings? Lack of information provided by a user or a process does not? If a computer runs a scan of disks and a user does not input is an active computer or not?

    Hello

Idle refers to the question of whether or not a device is used. This could be due to a lack of user input. For example, if the user is running a disk check, the disc is in use and is not idle. If the computer has been idle and the hard drive was not used, then the idle development would come into force.

  • When you use Windows Live Photo Gallery SCREENSAVER, monitor off, regardless of power parameters. The power settings work with all the other screen savers.

Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver does not extinguish whatever my power settings.  This is the case with Windows Live Photo Gallery.  When you use any other screen saver, the screen turns off according to the way in which the power settings are defined.  It is quite frustrating because I prefer to use as my screen saver Windows Live Photo Gallery.  But he will stay indefinitely if I stop it manually.  Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?   Thank you.

It would help if you said that if this happens in battery mode or network mode.

If this happens in network mode, you should test if this happens, with or without battery.

  • Unable to restore the power settings

At the time where I got Windows 7 on my Z580, there was a management framework for the Lenovo power which enabled me to have only my battery charge up to 60% of its max capacity to prolong his life. When I installed Windows 8, I forgot to return this setting and now I don't know how to make it load to 100%.

EDIT: You just have to remove the battery, then hold the power button for 20 seconds and re - install the battery and re - connect the power supply and start Notepad, this work on my Win7 Z580

    Hello
where did you changed them? In the BIOS or in the Toshiba HW setup?

I suggest you go into bios after turning on your machine. You have to hit just F2 Ant then in the search for bios for setting "all default setting" or something with "bios setup defaults" to reset your bios settings.

After that, your computer should start up again.

    Hi tomCunningham,.

This problem can occur because Windows XP does not allow a computer hibernate if Windows XP does not recognize a specific hardware device.

Method 1: To resolve this problem, contact the driver manufacturer to inquire about the availability of a driver that correctly implements power management features.

Method 2: Try the steps in the section "Let fix me it myself" in the following article to resolve this problem:
Note: The steps in the article are also well worth for Windows XP.

  • Display does not decrease or turn off after the time specified in the power settings.

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion dv6-2140's. It is 1.5 years old. For a few days, my computer doesnot dim laptop screen or stops itself when not in use. I did the settings or power options. tried both recommended hp and energy saving. waited for several minutes, but neither the screen became decrease or stop. It was plugged and I slept something, but I knew he would go to standby mode after 15 minutes, but when I woke in the morning, he was still on with its full brightness for nearly 6 hours! That's what really shocked me, and then I checked for everything on google, but couldn't find anything. So please help me. Why is it so. I didn't install anything, nothing updated.

    Thank you

Please update the latest version of the BIOS for your laptop and also check if your laptop screen is turned off when the unit works only with the battery.
Go to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings and configure the parameters of the battery and check if the display turns off. In case it does, you can try then configure the parameters of the plan when the unit is plugged.

so when I have my power options in Control Panel on high performance, I hear a whistling electric survey noise, when I change balanced lights quieter then be able to save his almost silent but I hear it again, I tried several headphones and speakers, and it happens again, then this action solves the problem, I have a custom high-performance pc that I play games on I don't want to restrict my gaming experience.

is there one solution other than to put it on energy conservation? I also tried different volumes and I cut the sound, it still happens...

    Hi George,.

    ·         What type of port is the wired mouse?

    ·         Are you using wireless or wired mouse?

It seems to be your USB controller in the PC pick it up or interference. Cut everything on the Volume control and bring them both to see if you can narrow the problem down to a specific entry.

Try to connect the mouse to another USB port. Remove any external device connected to the computer except keyboard and mouse and check.

Uninstall and reinstall the latest drivers of sound card on the manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps.
