Why isn't my Photoshop CS4 install 64 and 32-bit?

Hello

I am sub Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

I have bought and downloaded Photoshop CS4 Extended, and installed as a 64-bit program. Now I need a version 32-bit also (for some Nik plugins), but the installer has not installed the 32-bit version (it would be in Program Files (x 86). He must have installed the two by default.

Also, I does not change the path by default I know who can screw up the installation.

I ran the installer again and she's going through the complete installation without giving me the Options Panel to choose which version 64 or 32 (or both) to install.

Should I completely PS to uninstall and reinstall to see if I get the installation of the Options Panel?  Any other ideas?

Thank you!

Chris

Yes, your single-user license allows up to two simultaneous installations, activations.

to install and activate a third you would need to disable (help > deactivate) on one of the other two.

  • Photoshop CS4 type tool and paint bucket

I'm teaching my students Photoshop CS4 and have started to have problems, I've ever met.

Problem #1 - text tool will not work. We can create a text box and type in it. Text does not appear on the document, but appears in the layers palette. I made sure the layer is on top and text is not too large for the text box font color contrast the background. I have looked at the character and paragraph palettes you are looking for something unusual but found nothing.

Problem #2 - the paint bucket is "stuck" on one color. Any sample of the color I chose, the color does not change. I created new documents and also closed and reopened the program but that didn't help either.

Enyone met these problems? How you solve the problem?

1st thing I would do is put him tools. I use a Mac and CS3, but I think he's still in the same place on CS4 and Windows:

  • Why isn't download photoshop?

Hi, I got a subscription to creative cloud a few months ago, but didn't download it at the time. My subscription is up to date. I tried to download photoshop and creative cloud. I get a message telling me Photoshop is downloading but does not download. How can I fix?

The root user account is the account Super user with higher privileges.  You can try running the CC app once.

You cannot create Root account, it is a built in user account, you can turn on and off according to your choice.

    Root user account activation step:

OS X Mavericks: enable and disable the root user

    (Applies also to Yosemite)

    How to connect as root

    1. If you are connected, choose quit from the Apple menu.
    2. If you connect from a list of names of users with pictures, click on the other.
    3. In the name field, type: root
    4. In the password field, type the password that you set when you configure the root user account.

Once you connect to the Root account try to launch creative cloud application and check.

  • Where can I get Photoshop CS4 64 bit?

I saw a lot of people talk about native code 64-bit Photoshop CS4, but I can't find where.

I am currently using Windows XP, but intend to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit in a week or two.  I'm going to reload all my programs from scratch and I would start with the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS4.

I bought the standard CD of Adobe's Photoshop CS4, but I don't remember anything about the 64-bit version when I installed the 32 bit version on Windows XP 32-bit.  Maybe I don't see nothing, because I do not have a 64-bit system.

I have googled and looked for this information in the Adobe knowledge base with no luck...

    Thank you...

Maybe I don't see nothing, because I do not have a 64-bit system.

That's exactly why you won't see anywhere. The Photoshop installer contains 64 and 32-bit and a 64 bit OS on two of them will install by default.

  • Installation hassle for Photoshop CS4

I bought a Tablet Wacom Bamboo Fun comes with Photoshop Elements 6.0. Under the Wacom privileges program, I bought Adobe Photoshop CS4 for $299. http://www.Wacom.com/privileges/privileges.cfm?ID=55 & Tablet = BambooFun

    https://Store1.Adobe.com/cfusion/store/index.cfm?store=OLS-us & View = ols_prod & category = / spec ialPages/Photoshop & affiliateID = 70281 #loc = en_us & store = OLS - US & category = / SpecialPages/Photosh op & view = ols_prod

After getting Photoshop elements, I installed and registered the product to my PC 64 bit Windows Vista.  After Photoshop CS4, I installed the product on the same computer.  The installation went well, but when I start it, it starts as Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. I entered the serial number (name on the tile is Photoshop Agreements) in the back of my CD case without problem.  It brings me to the screen to enter the serial number Photoshop Elements'. I select the version 6.0 and enter the serial number correctly, but I have the message "serial number does not match the product you selected."

I don't understand why my serial number Photoshop Elements is not activating the program, or I do not understand why I got a Photoshop CS4 Extended trial of a case box and the installation of the CD has Photoshop CS4 written all over it...  If buy Photoshop like this has become as much as a chore, they must finish with the upgrade products and give away true complete versions of Photoshop CS4 for 50% off.

OK, all this strange seemsa, but since this particular situation almost never appears (although there are many problems with regular upgrades) your only solution is to contact Adobe customer support.

    Installation tips are free.

  • After Effects CS4 install on Win XP 64 bit OS

I try to install the After Effects CS4 for a Win XP 64 bit OS trial version.  There was only a single downloadable trial available and figure that if there is 64-bit trial versions, it would be packed with this also.

Setup designates the place of installation as "C:/Program/Adobe" which is correct because it is the location of the 64-bit program folder.  However, he falls in fact demand in "C:/Program Files/Adobe (x 86)".  Also when After Effects CS4 is run, it appears as a 32 bit application in the Windows Task Manager process list (labeled as "AfterFX.exe * 32")

If possible, is it possible to get to After Effects CS4 correctly recognized as a 64 bit under XP64 application?  I know that this OS is not entirely supported by the system configuration required, but managed to install Photoshop CS4 as a 64-bit problem-free application.

Another thing that confuses me is also the After Effects CS4Readme/technical note:

    http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405854 http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405854#_Toc162848026

    By problems known...

"When installing on 64-bit Windows Vista, an incorrect default installation location is displayed. The application will be installed to the correct location: C:\Program Files (x 86). (#BG064131) »

This means After Effects CS4 is a single 32-bit application?

Yes. For now, the AE is still a 32-bit application.

Photoshop CS4 (Windows) is a 64-bit application, which is why it installed under 64-bit application path structure.

  • I have problems with Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Windows 7 32-bit Professiol.

When I open an image of the bridge, the photoshop Panel is locked on one side of the screen.  The onle way I can get out of it is CTRL, alt, delete.  The problem persists.  I tried to uninstall Adobe and reinstall with no luck.  I called Adobe and they think that there is a problem with the security system in Windows.  Help, please.

    Hey jrcjr,

This could be attributed to several factors such as conflicts between device drivers, applications, settings of operating system, hardware, and corrupt elements in specific files.

    Basic troubleshooting

    1. make sure that the computer meets the minimum requirements for Photoshop.
    2. install all Windows updates. .
3 re-create the Photoshop preferences file.

Re-create the Photoshop preferences file to eliminate problems that may cause a damaged Preferences file.

To re-create the Photoshop preferences files:

    1. quit Photoshop.
    2. rename the \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp directory Users\ [username] Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.old.
3 launch Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file.
If the problem persists, the Photoshop preferences files aren't the cause. To restore custom settings, quit Photoshop, and then delete the new Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file and restore the original name of the previous Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file.
