• Why Lens profile creator Adobe would distribute the checkboards form of JPGs?

  Disappeared, JPGs are a bad idea for images that contain a small number of colors (low compression) and sharp edge (ringing artifacts).  So why then Adobe would distribute the checkboards for lens profile Creator as JPG, rather than a more appropriate as PNG format?

  I have branch last week a new notebook from Toshiba (P70-A-11 (q) which has 8.1 Windows preinstalled on it.

  It seems that the device has a problem with the monitor profiles.
  When I look at the pictures on a unmanaged profile software, the images seem fine.
  Once I have import them to Lightroom or Photoshop, images get a yellow tint.

  Unfortunately, I tried to add sRGB on my profiles but even after rebooting, I didn't see any change.
  From what I noticed the operating system doesn't have a defined profile at all before.

  I know that by selecting a profile sRGB is not a good solution and I should rather to calibrate my monitor.
  The question is why the profiles do not take any effect on my laptop screen, no matter which one I pick.
  Even there are some conflicts with the Intel display driver?

  Toshiba can support such a problem under warranty?
  I think that it is not my responsibility to get a screen totally not calibrated, or at least a portable computer without some suggested profile.

  First of all guarantee covers any software problem. The warranty only covers hardware issues.
  But I don t think that this could be a software problem. I guess it's just a matter of settings.

  I recommend you to check if the option + use Windows display calibration "+ is activated."
  -Open the color management Panel.
  -Go to the Advanced tab.
  -Click on "change the system's default settings...". »
  -Go to the Advanced tab in color management - system default settings dialog box.
  -Turn on "Use Windows display calibration" and click Close.
  -Now go to the devices tab, change the profiles it and click on 'Set as default' as usual.

  You can also go through the built-in feature of Windows of calibration ("Calibrate display" button in the tab advanced)

  I'm new in the world of SSDS.  I recently bought two SSDS for use with mini OWC Thunderbay e:

  ADATA SP550 - my OS El Capitan

  Samsung 850 EVO - storage media

  When I go to each drive in System Profiler, each have a bug, fat 'no' next to the field in Support of TRIM.

  I know that Apple does not want to take charge of third party records, because they will not be held responsible for data loss or corruption.  That's why System Profiler telling me this?  Or are these two truly on readers list it naughty and I should definitely not turn Trim?

  This isn't a bug. That's all just a report. Unless you are using an Apple brand SSD TRIM is not enabled. It's normal. You need a third-party utility to allow the TRIM: Trim Enabler. Or you can leave this option disabled. SSD of today can better actual work without TRIM. So you might as well not worry. See topping Talk. If the SSD using a controller strength sand THAT TRIM is not really necessary.

  I use databases Oracle 11 g and 12 c in my environment, and I disabled (Diagnostic & Tuning Pack None) CONTROL_MANAGEMENT_PACK_ACCESS.

• Why my video look different after have exported them to AfterEffects?

  I made a few changes to a video legacy, and after the export of the video, I noticed that the video looked a little less dynamic compared to the origin of the film. So I compared, and of course the exported video has been washed (whitish) upwards a little search in the comparison. Its very subtle, but still noticeable to me. So I thought that maybe it's an effect I did changed the images.

  So, I started above and downloaded the original file in a new project. Then without doing one thing, I exported it directly on my desk. The sequence was still different. I also double and triple checked that they are both the same files. (Quicktime MIV) Is there something I missed when exporting? I will say that this is my first attempt in a video export. I looked at a few tutorials and they seem not to be something different. I hope you guys can help.

  inheritance changes the video permanently, it creates a gamma tag as 'Hi', if your Player supports, I should be read

  with the gamma setting. This is why AE Profile Converter utility is usually the answer because it "Burns" in the right color and gamma.

  Since most of the video is rec.709, 16-235 and 0-255 to create different looks and darkens the image so that when downloaded on youtube, when youtube them brightened again, (which is bad, but good), they come out perfect.

  instructions for installation color profile Converter:

  set the input to rec.709 profile, 16-235

  and the output profile to rec.709 "no numbers here.

  This will darken your image.

  I also have gamma Lut that convert 2.2 to 1.8 and vice versa with the Dispcal free software.

• Built-in profiles - Illustrator CS4

  I'm working on a work of packaging being sent to a printer to the Japan that needs files to have Japan color 2001 embedded coating.

  I get PSD files in Illustrator and panels of package which comes be superimposed on a model died.  PSD files have the right profile already embedded.  Rather Binder or place, think I'm simply opening the PSD file in Illustrator and paste on the paper model of Die, that worked better in the past.  PSD files are flattened to a layer.

  The problem, in that I am running is...

  I have the Illustrator workspace defined in the color of the Japan profile.  I also assign the color profile of Japan in Illustrator to be double sure.

  But when I got close, and then reopen the file HAVE, I get a dialog box saying "this document is not an embedded CMYK profile.  So I have given the correct profile, save and close.  When I opened the file again, I get the same dialog box - without embedded profile.

  I can't understand what I'm doing wrong - why the profile I am affect exactly in the path indicated in the 'Illustrator help' pages... don't is not incorporated into the file.

  I asked .eps because Illustrator does not support embedding of profiles in .eps documents. Absolutely should work for AI documents, however.

• New camera profile is not "appearance" in ACR, but it does in Lightroom

  I recently created a profile of the camera to a Nikon D200, using a graphic picture of X-Rite Colorchecker and the chart feature in the DNG Editor.  I exported the camera profile.  When I go into the Calibration tab in ACR 5.5, the new profile does not appear in the drop-down menu with the other profiles of the camera.  However, when I go in the development of Lightroom 2.5 module, the new profile appears in the menu dropdown there.

  I am running Windows 7.  Browse my root drive I find that if I look in the directory Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles (referenced in the book of Fraser and Schewe CS4 Camera Raw as a location for profiles Vista) I can't find camera profiles, and when I place the new profile here it does not always appear in ACR.  When I look in the directory ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Nikon D200 I see the regular profile set of camera for the camera, as well as that I created, but as I said earlier, the newly created profile does not appear in the list of ACR.

  A side note: I did a few tests with the camera profile names.  I added "XX" at the end of the name of profile Nikon Vivid (not post), and then this profile no longer appears in the list of profiles ACR.  I removed the extra letters and then the profile reappears in the list of profiles ACR.  Seemed strange behavior for me.  I also noticed that the profile that I created with the DNG Editor is significantly smaller that the others are provided by Adobe (28K against 110 k).

  Hope someone has a suggestion for me.

  Not sure why the profile does not appear in the two ACR and Lightroom when correctly in user-level file... should be. Also note that the reason the folder user level and not the ProgramData folder is only the admin level users can write to the ProgramData folder. Level user folder is the folder proposed because most any level the user can write to the user folder.

  Regarding the relative size, DNG Profile Editor and created Adobe DNG - EP written profiles simplified while vender Adobe profiles are highly tuned and adjusted. I suspect that this makes them more...

  Just a note, you exit and then restart the two _and_ Photoshop bridge after writing the DNG profiles for your level user, correct folder? I ask because some people have the bridge works without realizing it is running. Sure that the connection of ACR requires both apps either quits and restarted (you should not restart the computer if).

  What I'm wondering: why are these so problematic ICC profiles?  It seems that, at least my version of Photoshop, the default values of the program to save something with a profile.  So I thought it was a common option.  And I frequently get ads that pose problems because of the profiles.  Why these profiles exist if they are problematic on the press?  This has always confused me.

  Call their customer service and ask why you can't do something smart, like Let InDesign do the conversions of color (indeed, they should allow you to export the "thing" instead of distillation). If they need a special profile, ask them to provide.

  It seems like if it was totally their fault for me. They ask for embedded profiles, but then do not seem to handle the conversion. And no, I don't think you should have to save the images without profiles.

• Do not open the Menu start XP programs

  I have an embarrassing question on which I could use some suggestions.

  I have a user whose start menu does not work properly.  She can click on start and cascade through the menu to any program, but when she clicks on the program to start it, delete the start menu and nothing happens.

  In the taskbar, it cannot switch between programs.

  Programs will launch quick launch as planned.

  On his desk, she can click on folders or shortcuts and that they work as expected.

• Windows Movie Maker 6.0 - release issues - VCD of low quality

  I recently published a project (audio and images only) directly on a CD of Movie Maker 6.0.  the quality of playback on Media Player is very good.  Unfortunately this CD can only be played back on a PC.

  When I publish the same project as an AVI or WMV file and then burn a VCD with Nero, the quality of play on the DVD player is much worse.  What I can do about the decline in the quality?

  In the meantime, I downloaded the 1024 X 768 WMV9 profile on the website of PapaJohn and saved to C:\Program Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles (after creating a file of profiles).   Unfortunately Movie Maker still does not show this new profile under the list down when published to the computer.

  Any suggestions on how to get the program to see the new file PRX?

  I also downloaded the Encoder 4 Expressions but have not been able to figure out how to open the custom profile for a glance.  I don't think that it is important unless I was planning on editing the file.

• 'undercover' change of office, my favorites has changed, please help

  I have a new pc, age of 3 weeks. Disconnected last night booted up today, Office was default return, tried to go to my home page and it was by default tried to go to my sites and my all favorites have disappeared.  I tried the system restore, in several places in the short 2-3 weeks I have had this comptuer clear back to the first restore point.  All have failed.  I ran my NIS not found error and ran spybot with no problems.  I have Vista Edition home premium, service pack 1.  I also did the updates which recommended the update of silverlight (which I wasn't sure what it was but was microsoft, so I felt safe) and I have upgraded windows live so that I could make panoramic photos.  It came with no restore disk that I had to do, so I still have the original image still on my hard drive.  Can someone help me?

  Were you able to locate all your files on the hard drive? If so, the thumb to follow the suggestion of Michael to fix the profile to create a new and move your files on.
  As to why the profile corrupted from one day to the next, it may be many reasons: bad turns, corruption on the hard drive, system has not saved your profile properly, ect.

• After restoring factory and updates for Windows 7, the system now asks passwords

  Recently had to do a factory restore on a toshiba laptop with windows 7 preinstalled top. has restarted the machine once he had comepleted and now it says Admin profile is locked and my username and password do not work

  2nd why admin profile has been locked?

  3rd - without having a password to disk or save it on a USB key, how can I get around this?

  Ive managed to get it to load the office by changing the settings via safe mode, but with a full restore (some missing drivers, IE the sound card), it always seems to be filled with questions. It runs terribly slow now and still doesn't let me do half of what I need to do to restore its former glory.

  Try this:

  To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

  This will allow you to start system recovery environment and access to the same tools.

• VMware View Persona takes a long time to load

  We have a serious problem with profiles from view.  When we try to implement the component of Persona, the login screen appears and the user connects.  After that, however, the screen goes blue (note, NOT the BSOD) and just is.  We waited more than 10 minutes without anything from the computer.  We can see the folder of the user created, but nothing is filled.  After a certain period of time, eventually the profile seems to cross, but until then, the computer is unusable.

  We checked the speed for the server, connectivity and what folder permissions were set correctly on the share and the folder itself.

  Are there any ideas as to why the profiles would take so long to create?  Sometimes it is the first time that the user is connected or the tenth, so we also know that it is not a question of creating folder.

  Any help is greatly apprecaited.

  Are you running AV?  I've heard cases where AV slowed everything?  If AV is selected, then disable and see if the performance seems better.
