Why my windows 7 installed on drive hard Seagate IDE goes into blue upon awakening from sleep screen while everything goes well when I installed it on the SATA hard drive.

I did a Chkdsk/f/r hard disk and no errors not found. Is it because of the incompatibility of your IDE hard drive with windows 7 or other?

Hi Auggy,

I could not roll back the driver for GIGABYTE GBB36X controller, instead, I uninstalled the driver and now the problem seems to be resolved.

There will be consequences if I ever install the storage controller driver and what is the use of the controller driver?

Thanks for the comments.

    Hello
I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.

About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.

    I tried many things

-uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software

-prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints

-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.

Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.

    haroonsj,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You will need to install the Sata driver. On one of the installation screens is an option to install the drivers on the lower right side of the screen. Choose this option and put the disc Driver of Dell in. The driver, it seeks to install is the Intel Matrix Storage driver. If you need to download this driver and put it on a disc, you can click on the title below.

Another way to complete the installation without the first installation of the driver is to change the bios setting to ATA. To do this, restart the system and press F2 to enter setup. Once there you can TAB down to the devices on board and press ENTER. Then tab down to SATA Operation. You see at the top of the screen on the right side the ATA and AHCI. Change that to the ATA. Save the changes and exit. Once the system reboots, you should be able to complete the installation. After installation and that you have loaded the drivers, you will need to go into bios and change the setting back to AHCI.

  • 10.11.4 position of the window off the screen after awakening from sleep + external display

Does anyone else have problems with windows being placed off screen when waking up their MacBook Pro from sleep mode or when using an external monitor?

I have a 15 "rMBP and regularly connect with lid closed to a Dell screen 4K P2715Q. Whenever I wake up from sleep, many of my windows are off-center and move the windows from the edge of the rightmost to the Center.

I can't say with certainty if it is specific to the application or for all windows, but Mail.app and Messages certainly do.

I will do some tests later and post updates. Thank you!

    Hello

I take this in system preferences > displays the mirror effect is on?

What resolutions are two screens to?

How to wake up the laptop from sleep?

If it is by lifting the lid is on the Mac you see it?

If it's the position carries no report available to the larger screen?  (i.e. If the laptop could match the larger screen resolution would be the 'shift' appear in the same place, as the laptop was a cut from the larger screen).

In system preferences > displays which is the screen to 'drive '?

  • Windows 7 install "stuck" on the HP Pavilion 17 laptop

HP, I am trying to install Windows 7 OS that I am unhappy with Windows 8 (sorry).  I did for I think almost the last step, but the Windows 7 splash screen is "stuck".  To date, I have disabled Norton, I disabled the Secure Boot, I changed the boot order to CD/DVD-ROM internal drive then I restarted the laptop with the new HP operating system disk Windows 7 Pro DVD in the drive.  Everything seemed to go ok until he "started" (restart) with the familiar screen of Windows 7 and is "stuck" there.  I was just before he should have asked me for the key.  I tried to go back to Windows 8, and it does not start, so I'm currently leave "Reset" itself, and then I intend to try again.  Why am I 'stuck' to the Windows 7 boot screen?  Thx for your help!

    Ok.

Please make sure you create your W8 recovery media set before installing W7, because after the installation of W7, the recovery partition very probably will no longer work.

Check out this guide on how to do this.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Fortunately, your model is pretty easy to get off at W7 driver-wise.

Here's what you need to do the drivers for your model:

You can use all the 4540 drivers s of HP Probook except audio player drivers and card.

Use the Intel HD graphics to your model driver.

This model card reader driver should work on yours.

  • [G4 Pavilion] Starting from 8.1 to Windows cannot install DVDs using the UEFI.

I have a g4 of Pavilion which had 8 Windows installed, until I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1. I followed the instructions I found in other posts on this forum to be able to boot from the installation DVD - I had both disable secure boot and enable legacy Support, because otherwise, the system ignores the DVD drive (it is not even appear in the F9 Boot Menu if Legacy Support is not enabled!). The problem is that my HARD drive is formatted in GPT partition scheme, and the DVD of Windows 8.1 fails to install the OS on the drive when starting in the traditional Mode.

What should I do to be able to start on the DVD Setup mode UEFI? I even tried to boot from inside Windows 8, itself, using the options advanced boot, but as soon as the system reboots, UEFI throws an error indicating that the computer is unable to boot from the DVD. I know that the DVD is * NO * damaged in any way since 1. I am able to start inside in the traditional Mode and 2. I was able to start it in UEFI mode on another computer.

I had actually done this, but install the 'dirty' update messed with stuff I had installed so I decided to do a cleaning.

Anyway, I solved the problem on my own (I discuss with a very nice representative of HP chat support, but she could not give me a solution that does not necessarily need to reformat the entire disk to an MBR partition scheme) through the following steps:

    1. created in a single file system FAT32 on a 8 GB USB key.

    2. copy the contents of the installation on the USB DVD. I thought that the root of the problem is that the system is not allowing me to access the DVD player at the start, I might as well try to see if it recognizes other files systems.

3 restarted, you press F9 to start and selected the USB in the list of available boot devices.

4 here, managed to start the installation on the UEFI mode Win8 DVD, as well as the installation worked flawlessly.

So, it's the thing people. It still sucks that it is necessary to go through all this trouble to install an OS, however.

  • Stopped Windows 7 install to complete the installation window

Recently I bought the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium to upgrade my photographic XP computer.  Ran "Advisory" to determine that I could use the 64-bit version.

    Material:

ASUS motherboard with processor dual core Athlon II X and edge NVidia video drivers
    8 GB RAM
2 Seagate Barracuda 1 TB drives.  C:\ drive partitioned with the first (106 GB) partition for OS
    CD-Rom and DVD players
    Monitor SVGA/DVI NEC

All is well until what he has obtained to "complete installation" and then everything just stopped.  No other activity and therefore, no OS.  Repeated several times, same result.

Went to this forum, found several similar positions and followed all the advice: i.e., disabling USB in BIOS setup controller, disconnect all devices and cards (I only had a Netgear wireless card).  Enabling ACHI setting. No joy.  Same result.

Finally decided to take an extreme measure and reformat the hard disk.  Full format.

Attempt to install "clean".  Same results, repeated many times.  After having reached the screen where it is copied files and receive the message that it is now "finish installation", everything stops.

ARRRGHHH! (Or words to that effect.)

Now what?  Seen a post to the effect that Windows 7 can't settle on a 1 to or larger.  Any truth to that?  If it is true, as are both of my drives 1 TB, how all about without having to tear off one and put in a smaller?

Anyone has any ideas that I have not tried?

Download the drivers from ASUS. Unzip (expand the driver file, must create a folder that contains the setup.exe file and all the other necessary files).

Burn it to a CD/DVD and insert after pressing F6.

  • Windows 7 install stuck to the language selection screen

So I recently set up my own PC and tried to install Windows 7 Home edition. Everything would start to screen selection of language very well, but if I select anything with the mouse or keyboard that was going to happen. I checked all USB ports and they all work when I go to the BIOs menu, but they are still hooked on what an OS install screen. Currently, I have a 2 TB hybrid drive and a 120 GB SSD inside as well as an optical drive to read my installation disc. Any suggestions?

Thank you man. In fact, the issue has proved being in a simpler way that I thought. I just had to enable the PS/2 controller.  I appreciate your help.

  • Why my Windows movie maker keeps "not responding" or "restart" whenever I try a mounting from a saved file.

Whenever I try to edit anything to move a clip to the evolution of the duration of a song the Windows movie maker stops working or "restarts". Even adding transistions and effects causes this. Why?

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • I am trying to install windows 7 64 bit on my laptop. I have Vista 32 bit and 7 32 bit out there, but when I try to load the easy transfer from the dvd, he says it is not compatible.

I would agree with everything destroyed and, if there is a way to get windows 7 64 bit on my drive.  Transfer easily gets a «not compatible...» "answer, as does the dvd when you try to start it.

  • Colors in Windows 7 too bright/faded after running Windows Update for the first time (everything was going well after initial installation). See the details.

I just installed Windows 7 Pro on a HP Pavilion with a HP w2007 20 ". I have had no problem of color first and everything worked fine. The first time I ran Windows Update, it included an optional update called "HP - display - HP w2007 LCD wide screen". That the update "has failed" to install and when I rebooted, my screen had a look very 'neon' - my desktop background, a picture of a tree with a bunch of Red leaves, was very washed out and now most of the leaves were bright red with no visible details. This is obvious everywhere, not only my desktop background (another example... small green circles next to the names of Gmail chat contacts are very bright green, more even than usual). Everything is too bright. I tried the following hotfixes:

-Manually reinstall the update of the HP screen (it worked this time) and restart - did not work.
-Reset my monitor to factory setting - has failed.
-Download and install the latest HP driver for this monitor - did not work.
-Through: "Control panel-> appearance and personalization-> display-> Calibrate color" and through an assistant color calibration (that's new for Windows 7?). Also, did not work.

I have the dual-boot of Ubuntu installed on this machine and I think the colors under Linux are always very well, so I think it's a problem with Windows and not the monitor. Because it was working fine before, I would rather try to get everything worked, rather than the update manually the brightness/contrast of my monitor. Any ideas?

A useful answer, I got on another forum (windows7forum.com). It worked:

    I had this problem too!

In my case it is also explained by a driver from Windows Update called "nVidia display".

Fortunately, I figured out how to fix it:

    1. Open Computer Management (start > right click on "Computer" > Manage)
    2. Select "Device Manager".
    3. Select 'show cards '.
    4. Right click 'NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT' (or whatever your video card)
    5. Click 'properties '.
    6. Select the 'Drivers' tab
    7. Click on the button "return to the version.
  • window appears on the extended screen, but the screen isn't there anymore so can't get to the window (2nd screen on laptop is only when it is connected to the desktop)

Hi... interesting problem. I use my laptop computer on a desk with a second screen and moving.

The last time I was using my laptop on the desk, I brought an application (Quicken) on the second screen and now when I start it up it displays on-screen extended even if I use the standalone laptop. I can't demand because it appears in the second screen and I can't get it back to the main screen. I even rebooted and it seems to 'remember' where is was the last time.

Any thoughts on how to get it back (I know I can reconnect the second screen and move it back, but what about the time when I'm not near my office and want to access an application that was last used on the extended screen.)

    Argh...

Thanks for your thoughts, I assume that there is a simple key sequence to make it visible on the main screen once I can't find it anywhere.

    Kind regards
    Lex Gitter

Very late reply, I have the same problem and I solve it hovering over the window you want in the taskbar when the preview window displays a right-click on it.  Select optimize.  The window will appear on your screen.  No, you can enter the window and its size down, it stays on the current view

    Please try the steps below.

    Close Premiere Pro.

Go to the Documents folder and folder rename Adobe at old_Adobe.

Then click on Start button, type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto in the box find and open the folder Roaming Roaming > Adobe rename the folder of Premiere Pro. Plese don't delete any folder just a change of name.

Roaming > Adobe, open the common folder and delete all files in the media Cache folder and media Cache files.

  • Why am I getting the message «It seems that you did not start Firefox for a while...» "When I use it all the time?

It may have been a recent update, but it says that I have not used Firefox for a little while when I used it this morning. What is only a function of the update? I expect that if Firefox knew how long since I used it, it would not give this message.

    Ignore this message!

From what I've observed, a Firefox update will cause Firefox 'watching' the time of the profile file stanps and perhaps trigger this alert. I do not know exactly what or how many parameters involved in Firefox "decide" display this alert message, but as long as you are not having problems with Firefox do not respond to it.
