Why pdf files fail to download (or are corrupted) after that I upgraded to OS 10.6.8?

I managed to download the same files if you are using Safari. Is there something in Firefox that I need to update since I've updated my OS?

Hi RNewport-

I don't know how an upgrade of the OS would influence the download of a PDF file. I noticed that you are on the oldest version of Firefox and suggests that upgrading to the latest version here:

http://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/new/

In Firefox, you can manage your preferences on how Firefox displays or records all types of files, including PDF files. Here is the article describing how to do:

Hope that helps!

  • New files created when to split a PDF file using the Adobe SDK are much higher than expected

Hello. I use the kit Adobe SDK to split large PDF into a set of small PDF files, using a set of page ranges. I created 2 PDDocs.  One is for the original PDF, which I open it.  In the other, I insert a range of pages of the original.  I'm doing this for each set of pages.

    objPDDocNew.InsertPages (-1, objPDDoc, startPage - 1, lngPageCount, 0)

It works fine, except that the combined size of the smaller PDF files is 10 or more times the size of the original PDF file! Y at - it an explanation for that? Y at - it a setting that I can put to reduce the size of the output files? I run my program of my Windows 7 desktop that has Adobe Acrobat XI. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You can get an idea on what elements are the use of how much space in the PDF file by opening the various Acrobat Pro files, and then select file > save as other > optimized PDF - then click on the "Use of space Audit" button in the upper right corner of the dialog box that opens. When you compare the use of the space of your source files with the file target that you can discover what is causing the increase in the size.

  • Error message "To display the contents of the Flash technology in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat".

I converted MS-Outlook 2010 e-mail folder (and emails) into a PDF portfolio. When I have Adobe Reader X R-clicked, selected, I got and error message "To display the contents of the Flash technology in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat". I get the same msg when I try to open it with Acrobat. He worked the week last in Adobe Reader. I have the latest version of Flash Player installed. The portfolio opens when I click on < more >, but the Index is missing and I can't get to the first email. PC platform. Anyone else having this problem? If so, how to fix?

You are running Internet Explorer by chance? If so, the Flash Player you have is NOT in need of Adobe Reader and Acrobat. If there is a link in the message, use that, rather than assuming that you already have Flash Player. If this does not work, let us know.

Why Firefox is not saving my log in info after that I used the option "Remember Me"?
Whenever I get on a frequently used site where I have already indicated on the Firefox browser to save my log in info, I still need to manually connect. The latest versions of Firefox are not like that. I don't have this problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox then please let me know if there is anything I can do to solve this problem.

  • Why PDF files linked on my website appear off-center opening?

I created a website (not yet published), in which I have linked some of the PDF files. When I discovered these files in preview mode, the file pages all appear biased, that is, they are positioned right on the page with a large, empty margin on the left. This happens only when I view in Mozilla Firefox, and not in other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. This could be the cause and how can I rectify?

Personally, I hate how browsers are default to open PDF documents in the browser. You can set it to download the document in Firefox, and then automatically open in Adobe Reader solve your display problem.

To do this, click on the Orange FireFox icon at the top left. (If you have implemented the menu bar click on the Tools button.)

Now, click on Options. Choose the Applications made tab scroll Format de Document Portable. Right click on the list of dropdow. Choose the other. Then choose Adobe Reader in the list. This means of course that install you Adobe Reader. Don't choose Adobe Reader in the browser, because it simply means it will open with Adobe in the browser. That can sometimes Firefox crashing or stalling on if the PDF file is large. I hope this helps.

  • Why pdf files automatically closes after a few seconds?

I recently reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI and when I opened a pdf file it automatically closes after a few seconds - any know why and how to solve this problem?

You may need to reinstall or repair, one of the two. Let me start with the repair on the Help menu. Then perform updates also on the Help menu. See if that fixes the problem. If this isn't the case, you may need to reinstall. If you reinstall, use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html , and then remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, reboot and reinstall. Then perform updates.
