Why Windows Mail creates mirror mail folders in Inbox?

Hello

Re: Windows Vista x 64, and Mail Gateway laptop, mirror of the mail in the Inbox files

Windows Mail keeps creating mail folders in the Inbox with the same names as existing files from the Inbox. When I do drag messages in the Inbox folders, messages will again be saved in files with the same name in the Inbox. When I transfer these messages in folders unwanted in the correct on Inbox folders, I get error Message can not be found when the selection of the recognized object - until I close and then reopen WM.. Then I get two copies of each new message in the correct folders, which opens successfully, the second can not find the above message. I remove the empty and offensive messages new folders in the inbox every time. This "bug" is more a nuisance than a problem I can fix things manually, but the "bug" repeats the problem for new messages when I forward these messages to the existing folders outside of the Inbox. Why this is happening and how to fix it?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Amused but frustrated.

I suggest in WinMail you create temporary files (tempJob and TempBus).  Then, in Windows Mail move all the folders 'Job' (but many are) messages in the folder TempJob and then do the same for messages of the 'Business' files in the TempJob folder.  Then in WinMail delete all work and all cases except the temp ones.  Then close WinMail, and then run the compact functions and repair of WMUtil (detection of malware in scxout.dll was a false positive, but you don't need this dll for this).  Then reopen WinMail and see if things work very well.  If so, you can rename the temporary folders to work and business and then see if the problem is resolved.

This solution worked, at least as much as I tested it.

One caveat I noticed concerns rename files back to employment and business to WinMail. Mail moved to employment or a business in WinMail is still saved in TempJob and TempBusiness in WinExplorer (while in employment and Affairs to WinMail). This occurs even if you rename TempJob work and TempBusiness of business in WinExplorer. WinMail will simply recreate TempJob and TempBusiness and ignore the files that you renamed employment and business in WinExplorer.

Thank you Steve and Gary. I appreciate your time and your help.

Cheers, lychnobius

I'll have to re - set up my Windows Mail after the death of my old hard drive. I am trying to import my old files from my Windows Mail Backup in my new Windows Mail. I was able to transfer the former folders of the backup but when I go to import it recognizes not all files. Windows Mail does not dbx files.  Copy the store directory of all message on the desktop of the new machine.  Then right-click on the file and go to properties and make sure that they are not read-only.  Then go to file | Import | Messages in WinMail and choose the format from Windows Mail 7 and point to this directory.   See also here for general information: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm

If you can not always get messages in folders, you can create a new folder in WinMail and open it so that it displays a list of empty message.  Then, open up one of the subdirectories containing eml files in Explorer and drag an eml file on top of the list of message empty folder and drop and you will see it is embedded in the file.  Once you get a job, you can drag and drop all eml files at a time, as long as they are only the eml files.

My husband and I share the same email address and use the same computer.  All e-mails and applications on the toolbar 'his side' of the computer are very good, but me disappeared including send/receive.   I got emails that I downloaded, but do not read.  There an idea of how to recover emails and applications?

It is not at all what you mean by the 'toolbar '.   You use Windows Mail in Vista?  If so, you can search the *.eml try to locate emails (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for background), but you will need to provide more information, because it is not clear if you do not see the files or toolbars in WinMail (try to view |) Page layout) or if your all start menu disappeared.  You can also try a system restore, but it seems that you should also check for viruses and malware, according to your description.

  • Why Windows Mail in Vista is not send copies of all messages in the sent folder?

I have my Windows Mail set up if all the messages that I send a copy automatically go to my sent folder. For some reason any only certain messages are sent to this file. What could be causing this and how can I solve this problem?

I don't know how to repair the database. It does not ask if I want compact everyonce in awhile and I answer yes then he does. I can not delete the account and add it again because I have too many messages inside both in files and not in the records.

What is a POP3 account? If Yes, you can certainly remove the account, restart and add it again. No messages will be lost.

With respect to the repair of the database, you download and install
WMUtil and then click on the button that says Repair Database. Simple.

  • Why Windows 7 creates a Partition of 128 MB on UEFI?

When installing Windows 7 on a computer UEFI, Windows is still a 128 MB partition, which as far as I KNOW, stores the bootloader of the second stage of the BIOS boot. This multi-boot system, and the extra partition is rather... awkward. The partition, as tested by ' sudo dd if = / dev/sdb2 | hexdump', contains nothing of interest (no file system and only traditional bytes null/debugging (0x00, 0xFF)). I have my ext4 partition extended over this partition and resized file system? Or is it a kind of magic in there?

  • How to keep each "open in Windows Mail file"?

I use "Windows Mail" folders as a workbook.  But when I open or try to put something in a folder it opens and it takes forever to get to where I want to msg to go to.  Is there anyway I keep opening for 100% and just open the subfolder that I need?

Why have they changed it in Outlook Express, that was such a good and well-organized program?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If you have 10 subfolders under one main folder, you do not see them all or none. It was the same in OE. If you want to 'post a message', expand the folder tree and drag the message into the folder wanted.

Unless you make to each folder a subfolder of the folder above instead of the main folder, it should not take longer to get where you're going, regardless of the number of subfolders.

  • Why e-mail messages are saved as .fol when I record to the Flash drive?

When I save my Windows Mail emails to my flash drive it saves them as files .fol and I can not open them.

How do you open them and is it possible to save the email in an easily accessible format?

    Hello

Winmail.FOL contains information about the folder itself, it does not all e-mail messages.  The actual messages are stored as discreet. EML files that can be imported or slipped and fell in Windows Mail folders.

Windows Mail does not export directly on an external support.

First, export the e-mail messages to your hard drive, then copy from there on your USB.
