• HP slate 5 voice tab ii: tab is unable to connect to internet

  The Tablet detects the home wifi network and shows a strong signal, but trying to connect it just makes the network as 'saved' but not connecting, even using the wifi protected Setup button. There is no password on the network and all other devices - computers portable tablets and phones - open a session with no problems.

  Please report the full product for your VoiceTab number; so, please check the version of the OS you are using.

  How can HP and Compaq tablets - I find my model number?

  For now try a hard reboot and see if it works. Press and hold the power button for more than eight seconds. Once the tablet shuts down completely, wait a few seconds and then press the power button to turn on the tablet.

  Then try looking at the following page: connect to Wi-Fi networks - support.google.com/android-one

  If the network does not work for you, then I suggest you do a reset of the Tablet plant.

• Slate 7-2800 - Settinsg stopped responding when connecting to Wifi

  I have a 7-2800 slate that I just got yesterday.  WiFi connectivity works fine at home.  However, I'm at work, try to connect to our wifi and it works at all.

  When I try ti connect to our main network, I get error that "Unfortunately, the settings has stopped" as soon as I enter my password and click on connect.

  Fixing a few screenshots.  The network worked very well for my phone and no one else is having problems with other devices, but I don't think that someone else has a slate.

  There are a few threads discussing this error.  This one, for example:

  It appears usually when you try to join a wireless network that uses EAP and MSCHAP encryption schemes.  Does your office use?

  One solution is to download a free software called "Wireless Manager" from the game store.  Please check the thread for instructions.

• HP slate 21 wifi

  I'm having a problem on my network. I've implemented 2 slate monitors 21 as kitchen displays.  The two are connected by wifi to our network in the House used with Square register.  I use a Linksys E6400 which broadcasts only our secure wifi.  Since we are in a mall there are several other wifi networks that are also in the area of dissemination.

  Randomly each or both of the monitors will drop our wifi and connect to one of the other networks unsecured.  I repeatedly chose each of the other networks and selected "forget network".  But ultimately the monitors will always find a way to connect to one of them.  Always after a power failure or if the monitor is stopped off the coast for some reason any.

  How to stay on our network and block all other signals?

  If you, in your HP SLATE 21, Android OS 4.4.2 or 4.2.2 you must select the best channel for use in your router, without interference with other near the router, so download from the Google game shop, the .apk Wifi Manager (first on the left, in the first file).

  Better, if use... 1 to 11 channel (2.4 Ghz).

  

• 7 original slate does not connect to wifi after update

  My daughter-in-law has a 7 Slate origin. It was working fine; connected to our wifi without problems, etc. I used it the other day and noticed there was an OTA update so I installed. Now, the Tablet does not connect to our wifi at all. I tried to do a factory reset, but it still won't connect. You can see my SSID and seems to try to connect; the wifi symbol shows the signal strength but gray remains and refuses to turn blue and complete the connection.

  Is there anything else I can try to make it work?

  As a contributor of top of page on the Forums of media consumer, HP, HP gives me access to the HP Slate 7 more free of charge so I can better answer questions on the Forum.

  Why not to delete the network connection original, that you used to connect to your router and then scan for wireless devices?

  As seen in the screenshot below pictures, go to the settings--> Wi - Fi and click on your SSID and then click on forget. Scan and when you see your SSID again click on connect and provide the password. This should work for your question.

  

  

  Once you have done this, connect to the SSID of your router again.

  The nice thing about operating systems, it is that there are usually several ways to attack and possibly solve the problem.

• HP Slate Pro 21 - upgrade to 4.4 KitKat?

  I see comments on problems on the HP Slate 21 dealing with WiFi 5 ghz with 4.4.2... I just bought a 21 Pro slate for Christmans and it's down to Jelly Bean 4.2?  I don't see a migration path supported HP?

  Hello

  You cannot connect through a USB port, so you will need to print to connect wireless networks using either the 21 slate and the printer on the same wireless network in your home or you also have the choice of wireless direct printing.

  If it is available, I always find the connection for the network devices wireless easier than printing directly home.  To do this follow the instructions that came with your printer to connect to your home network.  I also suggest following the instructions of ePrint must also be provided.  Then connect your tab 21 for the same wireless usinf settings > > Wifi.  Once this is complete, you should be able to use the print option available in configurations for some applications, the HP ePrint application or Google Cloud Print,

  As said the other option is direct wireless printing.  Follow the instructions on your printer to set up.  Then now you slate 21 go to settings > > Wifi and choose to connect to your printer.  Then you should be able to print option available in configurations for certain applications or the HP ePrint request to print.  The disadvantage of this method is that you cannot be connected to your printer and the internet, so it's a bit restrictive.

  I am from the United Kingdom and branch my slate before I went away on business. I have connected my slate to my wifi in the hotel in France without problem. Now, I'm in Spain and it does not connect to hotel wifi but my friends iPhone does? How does it work?

  Unfortunately, the Slate7 uses only the channels 1-11.

  The Slate7 does not work if the hotel you are trying to connect to use channel 12 or 13...

• 7 Slate to a PC file download

  Since I installed a file manager on my Slate 7, I can view and use the downloaded files from my laptop via the USB port.
  However, when you open a window on my laptop showing the folder 'download' 7 slate, text files are not displayed on the window on my cell phone if they were created on the slate of 7. For example, 'test.txt' will not appear unless it is renamed "test.jpg". Then it can be moved to another window on the laptop. Rename it to "test.txt" allows to display and use on the laptop. This workaround can be used, but it would be nice if a method not USB was possible.
  By selecting a text file in a folder of 7 Slate and clicking 'Share', it should be possible to transfer the file via the WiFi connected to the laptop and slate 7.
  It is possible to transfer the file selected via email Yahoo or Skype, to the laptop, but I would like to transfer the file directly on the Wifi without using Yahoo or Skype.
  When I select 'send by LAN' a window appears that says "analysis." Shortly, a message says: "Please check Wi - Fi connection. If 'set up the LAN' click, the Wifi list appears, including my normal WiFi. If "direct Wifi" is selected, a device, Android_ad85, is listed. At this stage I don't know how to proceed.
  Is it possible to transfer files to a PC without using a USB port, Yahoo or Skype?

  By downloading a free app called Websharing Playstore, the browser on your PC can be used to view and save files of th 7 Slate tablet.
  The URL is displayed on-screen Websharing on the slate of 7.
  After click on the 'Start' button on the app Websharing, go to the computer and enter the given URL and slate 7 records displayed on the Websharing site.
  Then the selected files is downloaded from your PC to your designated download folder.
  I think this is the simplest method of file transfer of the Slate 7 tablet to a PC on the same Wifi network.

• 21 Pro slate - Gets the IP address but no Internet connectivity

  Hi all

  I have a slate of 21 Pro with no internet connectivity at home.  The device gets an IP via DHCP on cable networks or wireless, but when you try to browse or access resources on the internet, it simply expires. I tried also to assigning a manual IP address without success. If I take the tablet in a café local wi - fi, it connects fine, but I can't make it work at home. My ISP is Baja broadband, a 50MB / 5MB cable connection LAN details below:

  * Arris T822G cable modem - no. ISP-condition, ability of routing and firewall, just a regular old modem

  * Cisco/Linksys E3000 router wifi - internal network gets NAT'ed here. not about filtering, fancy

  * Switch 24 port managed gigabit Netgear

  I tried bypassing the internal network and connect the slate 21 Pro directly to the modem Ethernet cable through cable. Same problem - it gets an IP (a public IP address in this case), but does not connect to all websites. HP sent me a replacement unit that shows exactly the same problem. Both units work very well at coffee wi-fi.

  (OS is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. I could take the unit to the WiFi Café and see if there are updates available OTA if anyone thinks that might help).

  I am an engineer network with HER 25 years of experience. My home network is a mature network without problems. Connected to this network and works perfectly are: 2 iPhones, a Roku box, a smart LG TV, 2 Macs, Windows PCs 4. already had 2 HP Touch tablets, which were also very good. Home visits can connect their phones and tablets to our wi - fi without any problem. It's * just * slate 21 Pro, which is bad.

  I'm puzzled. Any ideas?

  UPDATE: it's resolved. I found that I was able to gain access to Web sites by IP address, but no host name. There was something wonky with the DNS server provided by the ISP. Once I substituted another DNS server in the IP configuration, it works.

• No "Tethering & portable hotspot" feature on Slate 21 Pro?

  I bought a 21 Pro slate for my father cognitively-challenged to use in her nursing home room. The key factor was the fact that the switch is on the front, by the way. That's why I don't have the model no pro.

  I expect a very simple hardware configuration, with the DSL modem connected only to the slate of 21 and any material (tablet used by a person for assistance) using the WiFi. No problem, right? Just go to settings-> Wireless & networks->-> tethering & portable hotspot.

  That the setting seems to be absent on the 21 Pro slate. Did I miss something, or did HP remove this feature of their variant of Android? If the answer is that HP has turned off the feature, how can I encourage them to change their minds on this subject?

  What I understand the function of Tethering and Hotspot in Android is specific to mobile data and does not allow sharing of ethernet or wifi.  As the slate products 21 do not have a cellular antenna, the feature is not available in the settings.  For this reason, I believe that your only solution is to buy a wireless access point to get what you are looking for.

• WiFi from HP: Internet connection problem

  I started a hotspot through HP Wireless Hotspot (Version 1.0.19.1) software in my laptop HP Probook s 4540 to share my internet connection with my portable Sony Xperia L high speed. I can connect to the network, but I share my internet connection RCA. When I tried my internet connection in my laptop, it works fine. But through the mobile phone is not connect to internet via wifi hotspot. Here are the screenshots of the n6cessoires settings I configured. I have no idea on "Change adapter settings" in Windows.

  Your Probook is a business unit.

  I'm sorry, but to get your question more exposure, I suggest posting in the trade forums, since it is a commercial product. You can do it at Commercial/laptop - HP ProBook, EliteBook, Compaq, slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE.

  Do or can techs HP make remote access with your 7 2800 HP Slate Tablet?

  I do not use too much according to that I first bought and don't think to ask for a refund. Too late. However, perhaps a remote connection would allow the technicians HP Tablet check my tablet.

  For example, I have a hot point of moble. Lit. Had problems of connection and sent to the parameters to verify that the hotspot was listed and ÖUT RANGE"? Got to be kidding me. Also, it was a struggle to ling to the network I want to from time to time.

  I have a LG flexible Bluetooth earpiece/headset still trying to play the music becomes a nightmare. Songs often 'jump' during playback?

  Perhaps a remote control connection could solve some problems if possible.

  Sorry, this action you want is not possible.  HP CSR can only remote control in Windows PC.

  You use wifi American channels for your hot spot?  (1 - 11)?

  Slate 7 28xx cannot use European channels above 11.

  Are the songs downloaded on the device, or you use a streaming service?

  Make sure that you have stopped all unnecessary apps running in the background and other housekeeping tasks as to clear the memory cache on the device (settings/storage/tap Cache/Clear Cache.
