WiFi constantly drops / disconnects

Hello, I use an Inspiron 3541 Windows 8.1

My problem is that my wifi keeps disconnecting at different intervals. Sometimes, he would spend every few minutes and sometimes once per hour at least. Also, when wifi is, google chrome does and it freezes, or sometimes the chrome becomes black. Sometimes wifi disconnects and gets the yellow exclamation point, but generally the bars just drag as shown in the picture.

Here is a picture of ipconfig/all to see if I'm doing something wrong:

Now, here are the solutions I've tried:

1. I unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in power management.

2 I turned on maximum performance in saving mode in the adapter settings wireless settings of my energy battery.

3. I tried netsh winsock reset in the prompt (Administrator) command

4. I tried enabling DHCP

Frankly, before finding the solution, I don't know yet what the problem and I hope someone can point out what is wrong. I will gladly give information if necessary. Thank you.

Hello

The system does this by ethernet as well? Nevertheless, here are a few steps to try in this thread (especially the 2 method): http://dell.to/2e4syDR

I've not seen service WLAN cause this problem directly, but it is worth it. Unfortunately, with all the steps you tried it sounds like maybe this is a bad card. Still one thing to try again would be completely remove the drivers for the wireless card and reinstall, you can also try the online Dell Diagnostics (pilot and diags) can be found here by entering your serial number: http://dell.to/2e4rGPF

I hope this helps.

Hey everyone, long time, apple, displays the first time user

So my wife and I have almost identical Macbook Air 13 ", but his is early 2015, mine is beginning 2014. We have both set to update to the latest version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and since then (two days ago) my wifi falls continuously every 10-15 minutes, forcing me to turn on the wifi and turn it back on. Woman MacBook doesn't have this problem, it is not a router problem. However, I have reset the router, stop my computer and all the latest updates installed. I have run diagnostics and he had to monitor my wifi and it fell every 10-15 minutes like clockwork.

Is there a file I can download that can restore my wifi?

    Hello, TerryNikop.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I see that you have a problem with the disconnection of the Wi - Fi on your MacBook Air.  I'll start with the treatment of updates of the firmware on your router and adjust the settings by section below.  You can also make sure that you are not connected to a network of comments and test the change between 2.4 and 5 GHz options that offer most of the routers if they are available.

Recommended settings for the WiFi routers and access points

You can also try to create a new Wi - Fi location, and then test to see if the network goes.

Using network locations (Mac OS X 10.6 and later)

Then, try to create a new user on your Mac and test to see if the behavior persists.  Please let me know the results of these tests in your follow-up.

Since then, is happening in different places guess that there cannot be a router issue.

Yes, probably, what with the MacBook Pro itself.

Try the following on your Mac in order, until (hopefully) solved:

    1. Create a new user account
      • System Preferences > accounts
      • Click on '+' to add a new account.
      • Disconnect, then reconnect, then with the new user account.
      • Try to connect to a Wi - Fi network with your Mac airport.
      • If this resolves the problem, there may be something wrong with your profile and require more troubleshooting.
      • If this does not resolve the problem, go ahead and log in to your account and go to the next step.
    2. Airport to delete the Keychain entries
      • Launch the application "Keychain Access", located in Applications/Utilities.
      • In the left side windows: Select login for keyrings and "Passwords" for the category.
      • Click on the 'Genre' filter at the top and search all "AirPort network password" entries... and remove them.
      • Close Keychain Access.
    3. Remove preferred networks
      • System Preferences > network > Wi - Fi > advanced > tab Wi - Fi
      • Remove all the entries in "Preferred networks".
      • Click OK.
    4. Add Network favorite (s)
      • System Preferences > network > Wi - Fi > advanced > tab Wi - Fi
      • Add preferred networks using the button «+»
      • Click OK.
      • Restart or log off and then, again.
        • If it works, then you're done.
        • If this is not the case, proceed to the next step.
    5. Move System Configuration files
      1. Quit all applications that are currently using Wi - Fi.
      2. Turn off the Wi - Fi from the Wi - Fi icon in the OS X menu bar.
      3. Open Finder > go > go to folder > / Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration /
      4. Locate and select the following files:
Note: The files are OS X specific version, not all of the following files are used in each version.
        • com Apple.Airport.Preferences.plist
        • com.Apple.Network.eapolclient.Configuration.plist
        • com Apple.WiFi.message - draw .plist
        • NetworkInterfaces.plist
        • Preferences.plist
      5. Move all of the corresponding files in the OS X Desktop. You can place them all in a backup folder. The 'missing' files will be rebuilt after the Mac is restarted.
      6. Restart the Mac.
      7. Re-activate Wi - Fi from the Wi - Fi icon in the OS X menu bar.
  • C720 Chromebook - wifi connection drops

Overall, I'm happy with this Chromebook after using it for four days. The only problem is that the wifi connection has been doing worse and worse.

Chromebook keeps dropping wifi signals. To solve the problem, I connected with my laptop side by side with my Chromebook and the laptop has no problem with the same network connection. Chromebook shows the WiFi around 48% when the laptop displays 100%. I disconnected the wifi on my laptop in case there was some kind of interference and I tried with the Chromebook, but which did not help. This problem of Chromebook began a few days after I started using it and seems to be deteriorating.

Surfing the Web is still possible on the Chromebook because disconnects are sporadic. The main problem is that my VPN disconnects whenever the signal strength decreases. Yet once, my laptop has no problem with the same network, same VPN (and the same VPN server), and in the same place. I have a bad unit?

So, after many hours of testing... I found a solution.

In fact, it turn out to be a configuration of router for me.

I have a Cisco DPC3825 and I had to disable DETECTION FLOOD IP in the Security tab.

Simple as that.  My router log said the Chromebook sent packets LAN UDP Flood.

I apologize to ACER Tech Support.

It might be useful to add a FAQ to this effect.

  • Mac Mail will constantly be disconnected with Time Capsule

It has been ongoing for more than a year: I the time Capsule AC version (bought fall 2014) and uses a Macbook (version slim retina released in March 2015.) 12 "I am constantly the mailbox in offline mode in the Mail from Mac application.  The status bar displays "Error of account" and when I click on the error box, it gives the following message:

    DRAW THE ATTENTION OF

There may be a problem with the mail server or the network.  Check the "iCloud" account settings or try again.

The server returned the error: connection to the server "p15 - imap.mail.me.com" on default ports has expired.

If I temporarily turn off Wifi and turn back on right, the error messages disappear and download new messages.  Everything works fine for a few hours, and then I start to see those! exclamation points! next to my mailbox.

Initially I thought it was a problem with the Macbook.  They did a replacement under warranty of the wifi module into the Macbook.  Still the same problem.  So yesterday, I noticed that my iMac 27 "retina is sometimes as well.  And also, it is fixed temporarily by activating / disabling wifi on and outside.

Interestingly, my business partner, who has the same version AC Time Capsule and retina macbook 12 "even I experienced the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS in his house.  (Mailbox log in Mac app, remedied temporarily by activating / disabling wifi power).

It's to drive us both crazy.

Both have tried to remove the email accounts of our Macs and rebuild them.  Still the same problem.

Is there a problem of connectivity between the time Capsule AC and some Mac computers?  I do NOT notice the problem when I'm connected to all other routers in other locations and mobile.

If anyone has a thought on this, I would appreciate it a lot.  I am about to replace my Time Capsule with another brand of router in order to solve the problem, but all other routers are so ugly and I don't want some Darth Vader looking black thing with 8 antennas in my living room.

I assume that you are running the latest OS to el capitan?

The iMac is also updated for later?

El Capo had e-mail problems... so I assume also that you have updated to the latest patch.

Your experience with the laptop when you suggest that mobile are still correct... It is the TC at fault.

There are known problems happening... not universal, which is a shame because then it would be imposed on Apple to fix... but it is not uncommon.

I would recommend a reconfiguring of the TC... See the list below.

I understand your network a little better.

    1. what modem do you have? Brand and model please.

    2. your ISP using IPv6 or spend now?

    3. is the work of TC as main router or bridge? (The answer might be inherent in the 1st quarter, but if it is a modem router I need the exact details).

    4. is the modem, also located in your living room... If you run ethernet instead of modem, a router could be installed right next to the modem... and the TC has changed to the bridge? It can work perfectly as a WAP right and for the TM backup when you remove its role in the delivery.

Darth (breath in) Vader (exhale) Asus or Netgear router... which I suppose you don't not aesthetically... get to work extremely well.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

And then redo the configuration of the computer with the Mavericks - Yosemite - ElCapo. (MYELCAP)

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the problem is using wireless TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels like this also seems to help stop school dropouts. (I recommend you do cela.. 2.4 ghz 11, 9, 5 GHz use 36 or 149)

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

    3. If the TC is router, you can ignore this point. It is only a problem when the TC is bridged.

If ensure that the TC is always the same IP address... you will need to do this on the main router using a dhcp reservation... or a bit more complex setup by using the static IP address in the TC. But it's important for deriving from intellectual property in all directions when MYELCAP do not remember his name for 5 min after a reboot done for poor network management.

    4. check that your share on the computer name does not change... (It was mostly from the Mavericks)

Make sure that it is also in line with the above... short without space and pure alphanumeric... but this change will mess up your TM backup... so be prepared to make a new, full backup. Sorry... keep this one for the second round, if you want to avoid a new backup.

5 attach the TC disc into the computer manually. (Expired for El Capo... just use Finder...) Connect the box below search)

In Finder, go, connect to the server in the main menu,

Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever ip of TC is that you made static. It's a default router 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with it unless you know what you're doing).

You can use the name... SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your name of TC... local is the default domain of the TC and does not change.

However the names are not so easy as... the IP address nor reliable. They are not at least not in Yosemite. The field can also be a problem if you are not clogged or wireless directly to the Treasury Board.

    6. ensure that IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. (Depends on your ISP and if they moved to IPv6.. e.g. comcast).

For example wireless open network, wireless and Advanced preferences / TCP/IP... and the difficulty of IPv6. link-local only. Do the same for the ethernet if you use it.

In the TC configured only IPv6 local link... assuming you're on IPv4 yet.

It is very important with some ISPS like cox cable at this time.

It is a lot more jiggery pokery, you can try, but the above is a good start... If you still find not reliable... don't be surprised.

You may need to do more work on the computer itself. for example, to reset the NVRAM/PRAM/SMC... helped some people. A clean installation of the operating system is also useful if you update installed.

These changes could amount to little more... practical household good network... but I salute them as a starting point.

It's going to ruin your Time Machine configuration... So if you change the TC its location in the network name must be passed to TM... so open TM preferences and put the backup to the new location. TM will then say that he will make a new backup... once he starts, he will find the TC and original backups... check it out... and then do another differential... so no problem. If you are prompted to you want to use the old and new locations of backup just say a new.

  • HP Envy 15-k233ca Notebook: Wifi constantly falls on the brand new HP Envy laptop.

I always thought that if highly HP and as such, has decided to buy a laptop HP - HP Envy 15-K233ca laptop.

I had a few problems early and one in particular, makes for an unpleasant experience.

The wifi connection continues falling.  It drops when the system is put into mode 'sleep', when I surf on the net and even after a reboot.

I went through the question (and a few others) with HP tonight and after 2 hours assistance service has encountered the same problem.  I'm now having to restart the computer and solve problems to try to maintain a wireless connection.  This is my first experience with an HP laptop and I'm disappointed.  It's unfortunate, but I may have to return it.  I'll walk to Apple for a replacement.   If someone from HP can solve this problem for once and for all, it would be useful. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to return the unit.

Note: I noticed that others are experiencing the same issue.  I asked that the HP help desk install drivers to fix the problem.  If this does not work after our session tonight, then I fear, that it may be a hardware problem.

    Hello

Thank you for taking the time to answer.  It seems that the box was already unchecked.  Good idea look even if, as others may have this checked and may, if all goes well in this solution.  I asked a tech support in India for download drivers that may correct the problem.  It seems to have worked.

    Thank you once again.

  • Satellite L350 - WiFi RTL8187B drops

    Hello

    I have a problem with my L350 - 16L (PSLD8E-00C00GG3) of Toshiba.

Build adapter WiFi - "Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802. "11b / g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter" abandons the connection without reason.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium that came with the notebook.

I tried several drivers for this card but no change.

Sometimes the connection drops and Vista says "Windows cannot find any network" - with the other computer, I have about 5 visible networks.
Other times, I see all available networks, but I can't connect them. My wireless router signal is excellent according to the indication.

The problem goes away for a while when I turn off/turn on the map, but sometimes the same card cannot be disabled, and I have to restart the computer - of course, it freezes at screen is closed and I have to press the button for 3 seconds...

Sometimes, the problem appears after 30 minutes, but sometimes after a minute, again and again.
    You have any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Best regards

  • Charter & Airport Extreme: random drops/disconnects

OK, I'm at the end of my mind to try to get the Charter to work with my wifi from the airport...

After years of strong connectivity, my modem Asus started appearing as "disconnected" Airport utility. I have hard reset the modem, replaced the modem, replaced the coaxial cable to the modem, replaced the 6th gen AirPort Extreme (connected via wan to the modem), hard reset and rebuilt factory default as long as the airport, and the 5th gen Airport (connected by Ethernet at the 6th and in bridge mode) and always keep my modem dropouts or moments where my Airport 6th get suddenly seems to now show activity utility Airport.

I have connected a laptop directly to the Asus without any problems at all, so it's within my network. But I am confused... And very frustrated.

I'm including some settings below, but any help would be appreciated... I don't know what has changed.

Oh, and the two airports are running the latest firmware for their respective models.

    Thank you all!

For the gen 6 Airport extreme, directly connected to the modem via the Wan:

    • Is connected to the Internet via DHCP
      • Configure IPv6 is set to "Link-Local" only (I have checked and don't see that IPv6 is currently active in my Charter service area)
    • Wireless network mode is "Create a wireless network" and I chose the channels for 2.4 and 5 Ghz that I found to be opened via iStumbler
    • Network has the router Mode DHCP and NAT, with an active lease 365 days DHCP and NAT Port Mapping Protocol

For the extreme 5th generation of airport, connected by ethernet to the 6th gen:

    • Is connected to the Internet via DHCP
      • Configure IPv6 is set to "Link-Local" only (I have checked and don't see that IPv6 is currently active in my Charter service area)
    • Wireless network mode is "Create a wireless network" and I selected channels for 2.4 and 5 Ghz as the 6th gen
    • Network is set to "Off (bridge Mode)" router Mode

6th Gen airports have had a lot more problems with the compatibility of the modem that previous generations, so if you have the time... connect the 5th Gen airport to the modem and put in place to do DHCP and NAT to the 6th Gen in bridge... Mode to see how things work out like that.

Charter do not have active IPv6 yet, but they and about all the other suppliers have been the addition of new equipment and changes to their service. This can be a factor in your connection problems.

Yes, I'm sure that the Charter will say that this has had no effect at all on their regular service of IPv4... Since the ISP always claim that they have no issues when you ask them about their service.

If you decide to exchange the Gen 6th and 5th generation, as I suggested above... and you still have trouble connecting... then you are going to have to decide whether to keep the airports and to try another brand of modem... or... keep the modem and try another brand of router.

  • WRT320N constantly drop connection

I have a router WRT320N.  He is constantly declining internet connection and it is very difficult to restore when this happens.  Basically, I have to wait is "feels like" reconnect.  If I just wait, the connection will return.

This affects not only wireless, but Wired so computers.

One interesting thing I noticed, is that the login page changes when the internet connection.  If I put the address 192.168.1.1 in the browser when internet is not working, I get a different login page that looks like this:

    Link

My regular connection password or the default password works on this page.  I was not able to guess no more.  This could be a clue for someone who knows more than me on this problem.

I read a few threads on this forum and adjusted the settings in the configuration of the router which have been proposed as solutions.  I don't remember any changes, but that they had something to do with the packet size and PNP or something similar.  I always have problems.

It's really frustrating.  When I need to do something important, I have to bypass the router to get a stable connection.  Help, please

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

I think I have solved my problem.  The Linksys WRT320N router's default IP address is 192.168.1.1.  I changed the IP address of the router 192.168.0.1 and it suddenly cleared up.  I ran two days without a drop of water at this stage.

I think that there is another device somewhere in cyberspace that was the IP 192.168.1.1 and is in conflict with my router.  This is why I would like to get this page to connect to the strange search I didn't recognize when you try to connect to the router configuration menus.  I know that this unknown device wasn't my cable modem because it has an address 192.168.100.1.  I don't know what is the unknown device or where it is located.

So if you have a similar problem, try changing the IP address of your Linksys router.

  • OnPlus constantly reports disconnects

We have an onplus at a client device.  Constantly, the OnPlus device reports that it is in offline mode.  However, the Internet is alive and well.  What are the causes the OnPlus report that it is in offline mode?  Is it an external address ping?  If so, what address?

It is almost always a type of occurring between the ON100 packet loss and OnPlus portal that is causing this symptom - but this loss could be caused by something local on the network of the Subscriber (bad ethernet cable, high CPU, switch/port, WAN connection overloaded, flakey router same QoS parameters), ISP customer or somewhere on the internet between their ISP and portal OnPlus.

The key is to determine whence the packet loss. Knowing this ON100 sees packet loss on the portal on a regular basis you gives an indicator that something is wrong with this particular Subscriber network and could give you the opportunity to identify a connection problem, before it becomes noticeable to the customer. It is much more difficult to identify this type of problem when it does not occur often. Maybe it's not a problem for the usual daily traffic of the customer, if the problem exists in apart from their ISP - end-users do not tend to be very regular reports (or sometimes even noticing) brief periods of packet loss that affect only certain parts of the internet because of problems in BGP or a supplier of special transit along the way.

If you have a unix machine at your disposal on the network of the Subscriber, you can run something like the below script on it to connect some pings on the portal OnPlus, the customer's ISP (side maybe the ISP to the WAN, or a network server of the ISP such as a DNS server), until you get the next event of disconnection from OnPlus. Then, you can view the log of the host for the period of time when OnPlus saw a failure and see if there's an abandonment in pings on the portal OnPlus of this unix machine. If this is not the case, the problem is probably related to the ON100 or, possibly, the switch/port/cable to which it is connected. If so, you can review files newspapers ISP and gateway and see if the unix machine has seen a similar to worms leaving the same time to the ISP or local gateway router. If you use this script below, please be sure to change the 3 values at the top.

  • WiFi constantly falling.

Hello world.  I just got my phone a few days ago and I have some problems with wifi.  My wifi is one second, but after a certain time it disconnects and it is very annoying to keep connecting every 10 minutes, so I will try to find a solution to this problem.  I've been looking online, but nothing works.  I have an Acer Aspire E 15 Touch and Windows 8.1.  I also installed all the drivers, but it's because when I go to download drivers, it does not download no matter how many times I click on the download button.  Also, what makes the auto connect thing? I check the box but it is never automatically connects.  Help these problems would be greatly appretiated!

Get the drivers on another system and put them on this system with an external support.

Since I got my new MacBook Pro (13-inch early 2015), I had speed incredibly slow connection.

It became obvious that it was the computer when:

I had to connect my printer to print when I was not with my 2008 macbook

I'm writing this on my iPhone because it is so much faster

If my phone can connect to my wifi successfully, it is not my wifi which is a problem

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 15: Wifi constantly out, computer freezing?

I got about with my computer, honestly. Most recently, in the last month, my computer started putting my wifi in limited. For no reason. Yes, I tried all the fixes on the primary computer. Yes, I disabled disabling "allow" of it. It's just a waste.

Not only it will go to limited, but it crashes completely hard from my computer (but sometimes only)

I don't connect both until recently, because I always realized it is once the limited showed on my wifi.

I don't know what is the cause. I made sure it's no virus, and I still have no idea. I really want to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

Good news! I was able to fix! I looked towards the top as many bugs as I could and tried somehow several ads of things one of them worked. I don't remember exactly where I got these corrected since then, but one of them consisted of uncheck the "turn off this device to save power" on the usb root hubs.

At the same time, I reset my router and re-turn off "disable this device to save power" when I put my wireless card driver. I don't know who it was... but my wifi did not come out for 15 hours. Hooray!
