WIFI Roaming client

I have a WLAN deployment with about 40 APs and the double WLC4400. For some reason customers seem too "sticky" on their first partner and do not wander. How the system can be adjusted to make them wander the best of other AP?

Turn the monitor down to the AP and clients. Smaller cell will force the client to seek another AP earlier.

However, this may mean you need more of the AP, but there should be a happy medium somewhere since your power AP settings are too high, as it is.

You can also limit the flow to go no lower than 11 Mbps.

You must be careful with it to make sure that clients work always (voice in particular) but it's still a viable method to create the total bandwidth and balance the network physically in charge.

Looking for a way to solve the problem of wifi roaming between wifi and AirPort Extreme Repeater.

As my iOS devices need me to reset the network settings so that it connects to the Internet. And a few times have restart the device as well. Could not set yet!

the IOS version on all iOS devices I have is 9.3.1.

I tried two different repeaters, but the same problem exists.

Sorry, I know exactly what problem you describe... but it might be helpful to understand that iOS devices wanders very well to all networks with more than one wireless access point.

iOS devices tend to stay connected to the first access point what they "see" and they will remain generally connected to the access point, even if you move the iOS device to another area that is close to a different access point.

What is the problem you're trying to describe?  Or, Alternatively, please provide more details on what you think the problem might be.

  • Unusable WiFi roaming

How can I allow AND prevent the wireless connection
networks based on their BSSID (MAC address), what
their SSID (name, default or custom) is the same and
change the SSID is absolutely NOT an option?
    Physicaly connect the preferred network
Wireless access point is also absolutely NOT one
    option. i.e.

Allow to connect / reconnect to the:
    SSID - Linksys
    BSSID - AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA
    and
    Prevent connection to:
    SSID - Linksys
    BSSID - BB-BB-BB-BB-BB-BB
    and
    Prevent connection to:
    SSID - Linksys
    BSSID - CC-CC-CC-CC-CC-CC

I understand that with Roaming there may be several
WAP on the same network (multiple BSSIDs on one SSID),
but these are completely separate networks coming
the chance to have the same name.

This seems like it could be done by
Connection Manager software with options for
"Do not connect to Non-preferred network BSSIDs" or
"BSSID specific roaming", but I have not found
all that done this correctly. I tried
WiFi Hopper and WirelessMon, two programs
support connection via BSSID, but they always jump
others if preferred BSSIDs network disconnects.

    To make a simple comparison...
Walking items willy nilly to cars
can work and be actually desirable in situations
as the Hill-jack - or factory production lines
Hack-cabins, but the average user is more likely to
make the connections based on WINE # car parts
regardless of whether or not it has the same
color by default/personal as another car.
WiFi should be no different, with Roaming being a
Secondary Option when desirable, NOT the default
    function of substitution.

It has been reported that the 45.2.7 update beat Wi - Fi while traveling

I'm planning a trip to Europe and normally I use my emergency phone

Basic (no foreign SIM - using spring SIM) and do all my email but not others

use of data (without the web navigation or GPS etc.). It worked very well for me

in the past time, I used BB phones. The cost of email data was nominal.

Now the Photon has also wireless and I should be able to make Skype calls

  • PROBLEM with WIFI ROAMING blackBerry Smartphones? Please help :(

So my access provider is Rogers, and I am of the Canada. I go to the United States for the weekend and I wanted to try and use my free Wi - Fi connection. My mobile network is DISABLED, but my WiFi is connected to my network of cousins. With Wi - Fi, I am able to use BBM and my twitter app. My plan comes with a free Wi - Fi connection by the way.

I get charged for data? Or... what? Someone please help! I don't want to really not charged for it.

N ° WiFi works out internet data allowances, cellular data allowances.  The fact that you simply use the internet data of your cousin sweetens the deal.

  • Concerns about 911 (and equivalent) with WiFi calling

I'll take my iPhone to the United Kingdom for a few months and then Israel.  Roaming charges 'works' are crazy, so I'm leaning toward disabling homelessness and by using the Wifi calling feature, because I have Wifi most of the time almost every day.

What worries me and I wonder if others share it: If a person has a heart attack on the sidewalk next to me, I needed to go to the options, re - activate roaming (three or four clicks...), wait for it to connect and then try to remember versions UK or Israel of 911 (for someone who is curious the United Kingdom uses 999 for ambulances, but the 112 for fire and other emergency situations; Israel uses 100/101/102 (police/ambulance/fire brigade), but in theory, they are also used for 911 112 or even, as we do in the United States).

Why isn't Apple just automate all this?

At the present time their Wifi calling already wants to keep me my updated location.  Instead, they might have an option "use Wifi with the exception of emergency situations, wandering around in case of emergency only".  So, if I'm in the United Kingdom and call 911, they may have a version of homelessness that ONLY uses the roaming network for 911 calls and automatically use the right number of premises too.  So I would use Wifi roaming, that emergency calls would actually work without messing with the options tabs and waiting to reassign to a local provider of the phone company.  The phone would actually get on the go, but would not accept incoming calls or send outgoing calls on the roaming provider: he would use Wifi calling for that and for texting and would only use the mobile carrier for 911).

    To clarify:

National emergency services number of the United Kingdom is 999 - including to call police, fire and ambulance.

If you prefer, 112 can be made instead to the United Kingdom for the same purpose (112 can be used throughout the EU).

  • Problem of airtime with the same SSID

I often use AirPlay to my iPhone and iTunes on my PC to play for my (home theater installation) AVR - 1506 Marantz.

Configuring wifi in our House are a router/modem to the ISP and an Asus RT-N56U (in access point mode) with DIFFERENT SSID to which I don't have problem to play AirPlay on any device. I had the same SSID when so I can use wifi roaming without having to change the SSID whenever the other signal weakens.

When I put two (router & AP) with the same SSID, Airplay icon will not be displayed? But if I put a different SSID to one of the two, airplay icon is back. Channels are on ch.1 (router) and ch.11 (AP). Someone knows how to set up?

  • From iPhone to Blackberry classic classic BlackBerry? My experience.

I've been on Mac and iPhone for years.  I got a classic in August 15.  Here is some information for anyone who is planning to escape from the garden of Apple.  Don't forget - I have a Mac - Yosemite10.10.5.  I use for 3G iPhones.

If you have a Mac there are very little useful Office support.  BlackBerry link works, but can not connect and synchronize music, photos or videos on your Mac.  There is no synchronization Mac calendar and contacts via Blackberry connected via USB link (a USP for me - I don't like my stuff in the cloud).  When I called help BB that they it has blamed on Apple and say that they have no intention to get link BB works with Mac. It is shameful that the BB site is still claiming that Mac users can sync calendars, contacts, music, photos and videos using the BB link.  That's all just a lie.  If the music, photos and video synch is important to you, then you are shagged.  BB link is useful only for backup and restoration of your BB classic.

Calendar and contacts must be synchronized via iCloud - that works well.  Except BB Cal don't pull in iCloud anniversaries and BB Cal pull in Contacts birthdays.   If you have spent important birthdays putting time in Contacts then you wasted it BB are concerned.

Despite the hype, I think BB mix is pretty useless.  If you write a lot of text (I have not), then the ability to write using your Mac keyboard might be useful.  All my mail is IMAP, so it is already on my Mac and I need to see it on my BB at the same time.  The thing is useful that could be so alert were mixed (for example, to open the app Footy results and get alerts on my desktop, now that the sky Flash application is dead) - but the mixture of BB alerts do not work on the desktop - same thought there is a checkbox to enable them.

Theoretically, the mixture is useful for copying stuff between Mac and BB classic.  Link cannot sync things, but the mix allows you to transfer files between Mac and BB classic - a SINGLE FILE at a TIME.  You cannot drag and drop directories.  So if you have 20 GB of music - say 5000 songs in 300 directories - you will need to create the directories on the BB one by one and drag the music files on one at a time.  Apparently, no member of BB thinks that this is not a stupid feature.

To transfer (not synch) files, you can configure the classic BB in USB mode and, sometimes, it appears in the Finder when it is plugged in via USB and you can drag and drop to BB or SD memory.  The classic BB to appear in the Finder is fairly random and, frankly, a PITA.  There is no correlation between the BB being in USB mode or not and if she appears in the Finder — and I gave up with it.   I just remove the memory card, put in a converter and put it in the Mac.  The downside is you have to before BB classic feeding cycle he will probably see the new files (this is slooooow) and then the apps (podcast app, music app, etc.) will be another age to read all data.

Apps?  The most frustrating is that productivity applications and businesses are very thin on the ground for a device traditionally intended for professional users - both BB and Amazon store.  I am an entrepreneur.  I do not play games or do ny social networking stuff.  Apps that I used every day on iPhone are the map time, expense reports, ToDo.   On iPhone, I used HT Pro, iExpensit, Appigo ToDo, Notes on Mac - and I have used them happily for years.  There are no apps for BB approaching these in terms of usefulness.  I've got MyTimesheet classic (not bad - but buggy and dev. ignores emails), Manager of charges (banking something I have to jerk off in Excel for expenses, I can add to bills), ToodleTasks (OK - but no subtasks without subscription) and BB via Evernote notes (OK - but he refuses to sync on a regular basis and the account must be deleted and recreated and re-synchronized every day).  The lack of business utility/productivity applications surprises me.

Other applications that I used a lot (at least once a week) on the iphone-
TripIt - not available for classic BB.  BB trip is sort of OK, but there is sod-all useful calendar integration.
Search results for SkySports Footy and Cricket;  There is nothing that comes close to that I found for BB. I use FotMob but it's flaky.
Podcasts - I never thought that I would have good things to say about the iPhone for the podcast, which has got to be the PoS greatest that Apple have ever produced, but it's a miracle bloody compared to the best of BB - I think that this is bPod - but I listen to podcasts much less now I have the classic BB I did on the iPhone.  It's so hard to manage.
MetOffice weather - not available for classic BB.
AeroWeather - not available for classic BB.
    FlightRadar 24 - NAFBBC.
    eBay - NAFBBC application.
    Amazon App - NAFBBC (!)
    Album Shuffle - NAFBBC
All four of my banking applications - NAFBBC
WiFi BT and Cloud Fastconnect profiles for automatic connection - NAFBBC.  It is a real pain.  The iPhone is just used to connect - good wifi roaming. The BB has to go through the log of the web page every time.

In addition, many apps install without options for privacy and access.  Most BB applications allow you to choose whether to share contacts, location, etc.  If you load via Amazon App Store and many of them give you the same option with Android - i.e. accept any invasion of privacy or do not install the application.

Battery life is looking pretty * beep * for the moment.  I charge it all night and it turns in the economy of the battery in about 1800 - but I've spent a lot of time looking for applications and try to make things work.  If all goes well he will settle after a bit, but it does much better than the iPhone 6.

Of course, I could have to research a bit more before I bought it - and it was a bit of a bargain.  The keyboard is great.  I think that it is more productive than the iPhone to take care of things on the road.  It is much more robust and portable in the pockets of jeans than the iPhone 6.  It has a nice heft.  He got a memory card.  I love the hub.  It's more like a phone than the iPhone (but all also deaf).  It fits in my jacket pocket.  Apart from that, I fight to find something nice to say about it.  I'll give it a go a little longer, but I think after Christmas (or when I've missed someone important birthday!)  I'll be back in the garden of the Apple, the BB will have my SIM of emergency inside and will collide on in the glove compartment in case where...

I have 4 email accounts.   I've got Android applications.  No NFC - not supported by one of my banks.  WiFi on.  No 4g. Bluetooth that on when I need.

Thanks for the tips on reboot, but the classic went to the trash.  Tomorrow I'll be back with my iPhone 6.  I'll be able to sync my music and podcasts again - and I'll be able to hear when I play (the classic volume is too low).  I'll have regained access to my bank accounts and credit cards.   I'll be able to make my expenses and timesheets and sync with my Mac Notes again. I'll be able to back up the phone again.   I won't have to carry the card paper, a notebook and pen and an iPod and a calculator.  And a backup phone.   It will be like putting in the 21st century.

  • Network configuration of Roaming Wifi problem I just bought an Airport Extreme and I intend to use it as my router

I just bought a refurbished Airport Extreme and I intend to use it as my router & combine with our old time Capsule of existing one to create a roaming Wifi network.

The new Airport Extreme (renovated) is in my studio/Office - directly connected to our internet broadband wireless (WAN port)

Our small ethernet is connected to my iMac [mid 2010 running OSX 10.11.5] & a PC and extends up to 2 other domains through an ethernet switch.

This configuration works very well, our internet speed has improved slightly - better than our old T-Link router bit.  WiFi available throughout the House - better on one side.

Time Capsule (2 TB) is connected by ethernet on the far side of the House, offer backup Time Machine and strong Wifi to this area.

This time Capsule was an existing installation that went perfectly with the T-Link before I bought the Airport Extreme.

I used the Airport utility to set everything up and it seems to work.

    The problem is:

Combines the Capsule and extreme connected & active, the Internet gradually slows down and grinds to stop. -Wifi seems to follow suit, but is much more gradual.

If I disable the Time Capsule, the internet connection is back to normal, Airport Extreme Wifi signal is strong and extends to almost all areas.

I got to the departure of the two units configuration problems, so I reset both factory default and from that moment managed to do all this work - with the exception that the internet connection slows down.  Whenever I visit a different web site, it takes more time to load/link upward.

I spoke with our ISP, the link to our tower is solid. The technology suggested that I put Wifi on each unit to use a different channel (2 frequencies & several channels each available).

So far, this has not resolved the problem, I will continue to make adjustments.

I googled this - most of the answers are not to date - usually 2012, 13, 14. and not directly related to my situation.  But I will continue my search.

I'd appreciate if anyone here has any suggestions

The new Airport Extreme (renovated) is in my studio/Office - directly connected to our internet broadband wireless (WAN port)

What is the number and the model of the modem or modem/router that your ISP has provided you?

Should we assume that you use a Mac with the help of a current or recent operating system?

If you get out of the Capsule of time and leaves disabled for now, the network AirPort Extreme continue to run at full speed for a few hours and not slow down?

We ask these questions because we must first confirm that the AirPort Extreme works properly until we can begin to troubleshoot the connection to Time Capsule.

  • Access Wifi to Smartphones blackBerry data roaming off

I know that this issue has been mocked around, but it is has not discussed this very specific question:

    Data services 'ON '.

    When roaming "OFF".

    Mobile network active (on)

    WiFi, the value preferred, connected

With the setting above, the 'data' such as email work WiFi if I'm outside of my coverage area (ie. roaming)?

I know that if data is set to off, the Wifi does not work, but if it is set on "ON" and when roaming is 'OFF', which also will prevent Wifi work?  In other words, is the when 'OFF' roaming applies only to data mobile network (eg. 3G) or does it affect the wifi?  Intuitively, off is off, but then I did not write this code... and I'm not going overseas to test, my daughter will be going and she won't be able to solve this.  Thank you.
