Win 32 error 740?

I'm trying to install a program, but everytime I try, I get the popup: error 740 win32 (requires a rise).

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

Normally you would right-click on the setup.exe > run as admin.

Also check the compatibility of Vista:

http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

Windows Vista Compatibility Center

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.

This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.

If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on setup.exe O run as admin.

See you soon.

    Original title: win 32 error

When I dounload one program and try to run it I get one is not a valid win32 application error. This happens on more than 1 program how to fix this?

    Hello

    ·         What program are you trying to install?

    ·         The program is compatible with Windows XP?

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         What web browser do you use to download a file?

I suggest to delete temporary internet files from your computer, and then try to download the program, save it in a different location and try to install it from there.

Get the error: not a valid 32-bit application can have several origins:

I have listed some of them below.

The file is corrupted, bad or missing.
    (a) if the hard drive is damaged or hurt it cause work programs to fail, either because not all data can be read from the hard drive the program is damaged on the drive. Run scandisk and defrag on the hard disk to check for potential errors.

    (b) If you are running the program from a shortcut on the computer, verify that the program is still on the computer. In some cases if the program is no longer installed on the computer, you can get this error.

File is not designed for your version of Windows:

    (a) If you try to run a program that is not designed for your version of Windows, you can get this error.

    (b) Although many old programs designed to work in older versions of Windows will work with new versions of Windows, unfortunately, not all programs will not work.

    (c) if the program is an MS-DOS program more former start program or Windows, you can get this error.

    (d) if the program is designed for a 64-bit version of Windows and you are running in a 32-bit version of Windows, it will not work and generate this error.

File is a virus, worm or other malicious program file.

    (a)
this error can be generated by a file that is a virus, worm, Trojan horse or other type of malware file. Often, this will result because the antivirus installed on the computer will not allow the file to install or run. Try to analyze the file to check, it is not a virus or infected.

    (b) if the file has been checked and is clean, it is always possible that the virus protection program or a another program installed on the computer is at the origin of questions during installation or execution of the program. Start the computer in Mode safe and try to run the program. start the computer in Mode safe will be that nothing is running in the background that could cause this problem.

    Hardware incompatibility.

one) If you get this error during the installation of a program, it is also possible that the CD-ROM drive or the drive that you are installing the program from is not compatible with Windows or drivers that are not compatible with Windows.

    (b) download the latest drivers for your CD player or other of the manufacturer of the computer or the manufacturer of the equipment. (Microsoft does not pilot for other materials)

Follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Step 1:

I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on your computer Scanner and check if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    Step 2:

I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps form the article and check if it helps.

Win 98 codes error (offline)... 605-24, 6605-63. can not access the Internet to download a free fix. Download to my computer (online) and download a fix, then burn a dvd?

    Missouri-63080 Hello,

Microsoft can't stand Windows 98.  The end of life support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second edition and Windows Millennium Edition (me) ended on 11 July 2006. Microsoft will end public and technical support to this date. This also includes security updates.

The most likely reason that you can not download a free fix is that it is not intended for the Windows 98 operating system.
If you will provide me with the link to the hotfix that you are trying to download, I will review it for you.

    Sincerely,

  • Win 7 - error Code 646 - RESOLUTION FOUND! :)

I read in the posted threads and only managed to recover some of the downloaded downloads; Nevertheless, I have still several updates of 'security' (new downloads) that are simply stubborn even through the method of manual download.

I went up to clear the Windows Update log; that helped, because it has updated some additional (older) updates that Windows Update has apparently missed that were identified.

I have Win Firewall CA Security 2010 Plus (which makes activate the update of the victory, plus all Microsoft and Office of access) and the MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). I disabled the Security CA (I can run solo on MSE if I have to)- and I even went so far to lower the UAC (User Account Control), just to get the security updates---> final result: failure.

I checked the Regedit for programs and everything looks good from A to Z...

Notice to the media no matter who?

    Additive and follow-up:

I found this resolution which will solve the problem, it has to do with the
.NET framework - if you are not updated on the .NET framework (sub
    (3.0) - you'll be linked with error Code 646.

I highly recommend that you visit it and download (via administrator)
and clarify the bases and update your framework for later (Microsoft .NET
HAVE a RC .NET framework 4.0 and then there is the public Version of
.NET framework 3.5) - your choice but the RC (Release Candidate - is not yet
a public version, so don't forget - it's at your own risk.)

    Here is the link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us

I hope that this solves a lot of problems for those who suffer with Windows 7
and the "beast" code 646 related updates and the security of MS Office.

  • KB972270 Win 7, error 80070643

    Hello

I recently discovered that my laptop is not updated properly, such as windows update is still stuck at KB972270, giving the error 80070643. I run win 7 and I do not have office 2003, which seems related to the error, the patch is reclassification a police security patch, which according to me is not about .net, but still, I tried reinstalled .net nothing helps. could someone please inform me if this is the problem with the patch or just my laptop, because I do not believe that there was once when I accidentally close my laptop computer off(pull plug) when it was an update of the judgment. Maybe it was the root of the problem, but I did a cover after that. Thanks in advance

I'm using a purchased laptop recently and it is installed with internet micro security trend, which I didn't activate his license.

Well, now you get not to bother with a clean install of Windows, Kevin.

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

HOW to do a clean install of Win7: see "using the custom installation option" and formatting the hard drive section of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7#section_7

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the page following before otherwise connect the machine to a network or the internet and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

  • 0x8007006e win xp errors

After repeated errors with windows update on xp laptop.
Win Update won't load updates of office 2007. (now there are 14 of them)
Error code is 0x8007006e every time.
Tried to repair office. no problems found.
    Tried twice as MS Fixit.
Have you tried diagnostics Office Word and Excel. no problems found.
Have you tried sfc/scannow - no problem not reported.
Tried ms diagnostic tool. Gives the following (see attachment).

I also managed to get a file called WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab from one of the sites of MS, but could not find a way to run it.
    Any help is appreciated! t.i.a.

Issue has been resolved - apparently by the ms tool of diagnosis above, even if she didn't say he did...
Waited 2 days to see if updates more appeared via windows update; but unless one happened, failed and then disappeared (something to do with the Flash), there had been no more...
More MS mysteries! Anyone understands this?

(I noticed, when I was looking for solutions to the original problem, Ms staff gave several quite different solutions to the same problem posted in various parts of this Web site.) Obviously, they don't know THE answer - no more than anyone else. A result of having systems overcomplex, I guess.)

  • Receives a box of generic Win 32 error and the sound is off

    Original title: generic Win 32

I have the latest version of XP sp3. Recently, for seemingly no reason at all, I get a generic error Win 32, my sound card is disabled, and any program, regardless of whether a site like youtube, or a media player such as Windows Media Player will continue to function, but if I change songs or go to another site etc there is not its what so ever.

My attempts of difficulty not going from site to site and through many blogs, I had no chance.

-Restart - (allows his work for about 10 minutes then it dies)

-Tried to repair the operating system via the sfc/scannow command prompt (there is nothing)

-Ran varies according to program viruses and adware, spybot, avg, windows defender and combofix (Nothing)

-Created a new profile with administrator privileges (Nothing)

-Ran all previous scans in safe mode with and without network (Nothing)

-Download the new drivers from Realtek AC' 97 sound card (Nothing)

-Uninstalled and enabled the audio driver via My Computer-Properties-Hardware (nothing)

    -Tried reloading sp3 (Nothing)

-Would like to restore an old save point through the restoration of the system, but after the error for some reason magic all my backup saves went somewhere

IT IS JUST A PIECE OF MESS.

    Hi Mehatewindows,

You can first check the event viewer when you restart the computer and before closing.

    Check out the link:

Procedure to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308427

    Method 1:

You can remove any external devices connected, especially HP connected devices that remove and check what is happening.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

    Method 2:

You can also see in clean boot, if the problem occurs.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If your problem is resolved after the clean boot, and then follow the steps mentioned in the article above to refine the exact source.

After trying to clean boot for your problem, you can follow the steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Hope this information is useful.

Note: some older video cards may be incompatible with Windows. This probably means the graphics card has or is close to status of end of life that limits the level of support that the manufacturer can provide. The card will probably function very well for general purposes, do not expect that it works well for such scenarios that play games. There could still be problems with some games does not well at all.

If the app get Windows 10 prevents still installation after uninstalling the card, try using the media ISO to upgrade:

If you have installed a new video card without uninstalling the old video card, you will need to reinstall the old card, then uninstall it properly through the Device Manager.

See the manufacturer's Web site for the status of the video card. Check if there is at least 8.1 Windows drivers available. If there are no available drivers or support options technical manufacturer, you will need to buy a new video card.

  • Win 7 error "Windows Explorer has stopped working"

Using Win 7 Home Premium, I get a pretty consistent message "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and the auto check routine does not come to the top with a solution.  I know for sure I can do it almost everytime with a right click on the Recycle Bin (I'm trying to empty).  My security program is Microsoft Security Essentials.

None of the positions worked for me. However, I could use the logger and hunt down later.

Here's how: go to the beginning
where it says, "computer", right click and select 'manage '.
under System Tools, select "Observer of events," look under "type of event" and find errors.
Scan down the list - make sure that the window is quite large, so you can see the errors in the last day (or maybe it's time).
When I did, I found many errors about "windows Explorer." When you click on one, it opens a box with details. All the ones I checked had the same details, more or less.
Most of the details seemed incomprehensible, but, in my case, a particular .dll kept being mentioned, file called AFLDLL. DLL.
what he said was: the name of the failing module: AFLDLL. Unloaded DLL or something to that effect
So, I went to start, search and put in AFLDLL. DLL and I was able to determine it related to a program for iomega dvd writer cd burning.
When I uninstalled this program from the Control Panel, add remove programs, the problem stopped.
Maybe the causes are different for different people. but at least it will give you an idea.
Maybe you can find some information on what is involved in your mistakes of "windows explorer".
