Win 7 backup and the restore failed

I did the backup Windows for a few years to a 1 TB USB external drive. I make these for family machines. I recently added a new machine for my wife and ran out of space. I took a recycled 3 TB USB, formatted and tried to start the backup and restore. When the backup and restoration Committee came, he had all the options... I could give anything. Finally, I did something that I got an error code which lead me to discover the backup and Restore Service has been disabled. That helped, but was not able to change the disc. I downloaded a file to update the registry here and reset the backup and restore settings. Installation went through and singled out the refocused 3 TB USB drive. Has launched the backup. It ran for a few minutes and then failed with the message "the last backup was not completely successful" [not helpful] so I clicked on "More information" to find "one of the backup files could not be created. Details: The can not be performed because of an i/o device error. [not very useful.] I looked at the logs and see no error even vaguely related to this.

No error code. No indication of what device or file. No log entry. Everything works well otherwise. Because I'm running on a single system SSD disk I am very nervous about not having a system image.  Direction/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am somewhat a novice.

It seems that the problem was a kind of incompatibility of Windows with the Western Digital MyBook 3TO by car.  I did CHKDSK on drives and everything was perfect, but I've always had a "IO error" totally useless is not heading the aircraft in question or explain what type of error has been encountered to the Win 7 backup process. It would have been much easier to diagnose if the WD drive had been shouted.  Also, I have no idea why the Backup and Restore Service got disabled.

The solution (perhaps not the only) other than its use yet another USB key was to reformat the drive using a recent quick format WD utility (format Win 7 did not help) and only for the update of security for a newer driver.  Then by making a System Image backup, allowing me to point to the drive. Make a backup and a restore, then make a configuration pointing the disk.  A backup then worked.

Win 7 Backup and Restore does not recognize the USB flash drives for a backup image or a recovery disc.  Given that Windows 7 Starter Edition is used in many, if not most of the netbooks and netbooks have no optical drive, support for flash (thumb) drives would be very handy, especially for repair and recovery.

    Hi Mehatewindows,

You can first check the event viewer when you restart the computer and before closing.

    Check out the link:

Procedure to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308427

    Method 1:

You can remove any external devices connected, especially HP connected devices that remove and check what is happening.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

    Method 2:

You can also see in clean boot, if the problem occurs.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If your problem is resolved after the clean boot, and then follow the steps mentioned in the article above to refine the exact source.

After trying to clean boot for your problem, you can follow the steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • backup and system restore after upgrade to 8.1

I have an Acer Aspire Swich 10 E computer that came with Windows 8.1. After many hours of downloading, I upgraded to 10 Windows for free. Now, I want to make a backup of the system so that I can restore Windows to its present first State that is necessary or desirable.

When I launch Acer Recovery Management to create a backup, the only options are "Factory Default," which is no doubt 8.1 Windows 'drivers and Applications.

I tried to use Acronis True Image, but he does not see my C: drive, which is probably for the 64 GB SSD. He sees the 500 GB HDD, the Acronis USB key and the reader, that I intend to use for the backup. I understand that the default value of the plant is stored on a hidden partition, likely on the SSD, so I wasn't expecting to see that.

How to restore Windows 10 without first reinstalling 8.1, and then reupgrading?

I also want my backup on my media, not on some clouds or pie in the sky!

Oh, and of course, at a later date, I want to make a backup with my software installed and all the removed bloatware.

an image of the system, this is what you need, system image is a 1:1 copy of your actual state of the HARD drive and can be loaded from a 10 windows installation media.

so, first, I would create a bootable windows 10 media:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

Follow the instructions on the screen and get a loan from 8 GB USB flash drive.

then have a big USB flash (32 GB) drive or external hard drive, press the logo key windows + x

    Click on Control Panel

Click backup and restore (windows 7)

Connect your USB key or external HARD drive

Click on the left side, create a system image

  • Global correlation and the Application failed

    Hi, people.

    I have IPS4270-20-K9 with version 3,0000 E4 and signature version 572.

Sensor health show me a critical problem, with:

    -Application has failed
    -Global correlation

probe #sh - global statistical correlation

Error: getGlobalCorrelationStatistics: ct - collaborationApp.459 does not, please check the processes in the system - failed to connect to the specified Io::ClientPipe.

    How to solve these problems?

    TKS.

This error message indicates that a software process required for the overall correlation function (CollaborationApp) does not (stop / is crushed, hanging, etc.). You'll need to reboot ("reset") the sensor to restore the process to a status of "Running".

There are several defects in the software version you are running (the 7.0 (3) E4) who are the likely culprits/causes that have been fixed in later versions (E4 7.0 (4) and 7.0(5a) E4). After restarted the sensor and restored service, you can upgrade to a fixed version (7.0(5a) E4).

  • RMAN different type of channel and the restoration

    Hello

    I read http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28273/rcmsynta004.htm

    and

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmdupad.htm#BRADV441

I would like to know if anyone knows about the types of channels used with rman and between restoration and duplicate.

1-interview (ok is only for the purpose of maintenance, I/O is not allowed) I guess the process need fewer resources to the host that is connected to. But how this work? Where is its configuration?

Channel 2-clone (is the same as the aux channel?) Is perhaps only for the old version?

3-auxiliary channel (ok, duplicate), but why should be clear?  What is the difference if I use a channel normal sbt?

    4. what happens if I use the aux channel to restore Strip form of database without database duplicate?

    5. where is the difference between restoring database to a tape with a valid backup and duplicate database from the same band?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Fran

A channel "auxiliary" is when you read a backup and in writing (e.g. Creation/restoration) a database that is a copy of the target (which is the database that has been in the original backup).

Normally, you would define disk or sbt channels when you create a backup of a database.

The difference between COPYING and restoration, is that two COPIES more than a RESTORATION.  It automates certain tasks (create and configure the spfile, recover the database, rename the database).  A RESTORATION is to the same database (it is not expected to rename the database).  If a restore is not using an auxiliary channel.
