Win 7 hover over lance programs task bar icons automatically

VMWare Fusion 3.1.0 running a Win 7 Pro 32 bit VM and a Win 7 Pro 64-bit VM. Suddenly I'm getting unusual behavior when I just run the cursor over any icon pinned to the taskbar, the program starts automatically, or if there is already a window open a new instance of the same program is launched. What is happening in the two Win 7 VM. My XP Pro works fine. It seems that things are fine unless my cursor touches a taskbar icon, date at which a new instance of the program under the cursor is launched. As you can imagine which makes the two VM unusable. I tried looking for some obscure preference and done a fairly thorough research on the internet, but can't find even a mention of the issue.

Does anyone have a hypothesis? Thank you.

Hi all

I realized my conflict.  It's Smart Scroll preference.  I just had to add Vmware fusion for expectations and goes off for this application.

Thanks for your help, Welles,

Tony

  • Windows 7 task bar icons stopped normal mouseover of the functions.

Usually, when you mouse over or hover over the 'show desktop' without clicking, you should see the office with a visible transparent window frames. It has stopped working. Usually when you hover over the icon of internet explorer in the taskbar, you can see thumbnail pages of everything you have open. Now it produces a list of these pages display. I tried to look at the taskbar settings, but do not see how I could change these functions.

  • Windows7 task bar icons won't stay where I put them

I spent hours carefully "pin" some 20 shortcuts to the Win 7 taskbar. When I removed some UI features, ALL icons have been deleted without warning.

Then, I collected all the icons, this time putting them in a folder and put the folder in the to-do bar. So far Windows did not remove the folder or icons.

But. After carefully put the icons in alphabetical order, all the hours or the icons are in a different order. There is no sorting feature for the icons in the taskbar (Windows 7 seems to have lost MANY useful features). The underlying folder is sorted by file name, but the taskbar seems not aware of my stated preference.

What is happening, and how can I convince Win 7 I really know where I want the icons and ask them left in place?

I know I can "lock" the taskbar, but I've never had to do before.

Thanks for any idea you may have.

    Jon

For years, Windows has had a feature where he puts most recently used icons at the top of the lists, or even remove items that have not been used for some time.  Since I was oriented "positional", this "feature" always totally threw me.  I want to know that a specific icon is always '(deuxieme from the left.  So, I disabled it in every Microsoft program that I've met, including Windows.

I think that my turn this off in Windows 7 has prevented Windows to constantly rearrange my icons.  I would have spotted it earlier, but the shifts that took place were NOT correct implementation of most recently used icons on one end or the other of the list.  In fact, the transpositions appeared more arbitrary than thoughtful.

If someone of another unwanted meeting moving icons of Windows 7, you can try to disable this feature.  Honestly, I don't know what is the name of the feature. Or I don't like.  This "feature" has lost a lot of my time.

  • Yellow triangle with! the wireless network connection in the task bar icon, but ok in Device Manager

I still need help: 11-24-10' uncorrected problem after all

I have a laptop of refurbished HP older Pavilion ze5385US who has recently lost the wireless connection.  Now, I have to leave it plugged in to use, not practical at all.  I did the right click on the icon to open the network connections, left clicked wireless network connections and then clicked "repair this connection.  The uninstaslled of the computer, and then was not able to reinstall.  When I checked D, it was empty.  I thought it was where restoration stuff should have been.  So I downloaded and reinstalled much Express IEEE 802.11 PCI card Lan, until I found the one that the computer would be except.  Now, it appears in device very good Manager, but has theyellow cone with! on the icon in the status bar at the bottom.  When I raised it lights, it is said: 13 of (ANY) wireless network connection, speed: 11.0 Mbps, Signal strength: Excellent, status: limited or no connectivity.  When I choose "View available wireless networks", I get "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection.  Under network without wire/support/details of connections, Iget physical address: 00-02-8A-92-BE-0C, IP address: 169.254.196.112 subnet mask: 255.255.0.0, then the default gateway, DNS server, WINS server & have not enumerated values. I'm afraid to hit the repair again, it could wipe out the only map I've found so far that is accepted by my computer.  When I try to enter the knowledge base for WinXP, I get an error for this page, as well as several other help pages I tried the site of microsoft.com for help.  When I used configurationtool thewireless zero in respect of services & restart earlier, I had a red X on my icon, so I guess I've lost my card after all.  Can I disable this?  The map always shows as OK in Device Manager.  Any ideas anyone?  I need help here please.

    Hello

I thank you and wish you the same.

I see that your problem has been solved using the HP driver that you mentioned on Thursday, November 18 in your message and the Express.sys is a problem with Windows install.

I suggest to install the version of Windows install 4.5 on the system from the link below and then update the driver from the link that was attached to your question before and check.

    Step 1:

    Install windows install 4.5

    Windows install 4.5 Redistributable

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

    Step 2:

Update the driver from the link you mentioned in your previous post.

I suggest you to check with TP-link if this model is compatible with Windows XP or not.

    Thanks and regards.

  • in the right user account after the connection in the task bar icon flashes "windows need your permission to continue".

I got a virus in my Vista computer cse.exe the so-called fake-AntiVirus. He has changed the file association for exe files. I fixed it and and deleted the program as well as its footprint in the registry. The virus attacks when I was in a non-administrative account. Therefore, any changes made to the registry were in the CURRENT_USER section.
Still a problem. If I connect as User1 [non-admin] before any other action is taken, I see a tab flashing in the taskbar. It says "Windows needs your permission to continue". If I try to remove it the Explorer window dies and I get a clean screen with wallpaper and I have to restart. Of course if I provided the 'root' password every thing seems OK. I tried to identify any processes that can ask something looking at the tables Task Manager but don't see anything suspicious. If I do not touch the flashing tab I open the other Wndows Explorer since the icons I have on the desktop and NOT additional UAC asks pop up. The computer so that these experiences if offline. There is an another non administrator account on this computer. If I connect you no problem can be observed. Everything happens only in the account where the virus attacked.
Any idea? Can I find out what program is doing admin type of request?
    Victor

    Hi Victor,

How to remove the virus from the computer?
I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Scan your computer with Microsoft Safety scanner for viruses and check if that helps.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Run check file system (CFS) analyses and checks to see if it helps.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Note: SFC system gives an administrator the ability to scan the files all protected to check their versions. If the System File Checker detects that a protected file has been replaced, it retrieves the correct version of the file in the folder cache (% Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache) or the Windows installation source files and then replaces the incorrect file. System File Checker verifies and repopulates the cache folder also. You must be logged in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run the System File Checker. If the cache folder is damaged or unusable, you can use the sfc/scannow, sfc /scanonce or commands sfc /scanboot to repair its contents.

Method 3: To fix an account corrupted, please follow the steps in the link and check if that helps.

Method 4: To find out which program makes admin request type, check Event Viewer and check if that helps.
    Open event viewer
  • How to stop the flashing task bar icons?

So I installed Windows 7 ultimate the other day, and whenever I have many open windows icons startup flashes no appearant reason. Is there a setting somewhere to turn off blinking icon? If this is not the case, is there a registry fix? I found info on another forum that has been able to change the number of flashes of the registry. I tried to delete the registry that contains the number of lightning but that did not help? Can you people help me out here?

Yes, well, it was a complete waste of time. I know there is a way to stop the annoying icon blinking, but I didn't have to resort to the installation of tuneup utilities 2010 but I know that it can turn off this feature, I just wish I knew how he did. sucks when you have to disable a feature stupid as icon flashes by installing third-party software, whereas it should so much easier. I have installed tuneup2010 and off flashing icon and did not blink since... Win 7 is so much better without this _. Thanks anyway

volume and battery meter icons have disappeared from the taskbar. How to make a comeback?

Use this tutorial. Don't forget to restart the computer after you apply the tutorial:
Use the method three - easier.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/106787-notification-area-system-icons.html

You can also use system restore. Choose the right date when you had the missing icons in the taskbar as your restore point.
Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Task bar icon, what is it, how do I remove this

This icon appeared on my taskbar. It appears while playing games in full-screen (without window), but does not appear in the screen grabs. It seems to not be selectable) what is and how to remove? circular arrow.

It is the theatre of shadows of Nvidia. I finally found the answer in google search for 'corner weird icon screen '.

  • How do I get my task bar icons, now on the left, back on the bottom of my Windows screen - see print screen below (have no idea how it happened)

I'm not a supercomputer user, so please keep it simple.

Ok. It is the taskbar all moved to the left. Just do what I suggested in my first answer.

Right click on the Start button. Properties | Taskbar and change the location to the bottom.

Or, what you probably read on: right click on a place empty, as between the upper icons and notification icons and unlock the taskbar. Then left click on an empty spot and drag the taskbar to the bottom and relock it.
