Win XP Recovery CD and HARD drive repartitioning
Hello.
I need advice how to configure the Windows soft recovery so that it do not repartition the HARD drive during the recovery process. I have used before once and cannot find an option for this. Fortunately, it was a new install then and I did not lose anything. Later I got another version of Windows installed, but now I would like to return to the original configuration. I have two partitions on my HARD drive and this time I don't want to lose the data on the other partition.
model Tecra A2
soft Win XP pro
Thanks in advance
Greg
Hello
Usually the first partition files will be deleted.
If you want to recover the unit with the recovery CD, then you must use the expert mode.
This mode allows you to choose a partition where you will install the operating system.

New NB550D clean system and TOSHIBA recovery on the HARD drive.
Hello
I was wondering, if I install a new clean Win 7 on my NB550D I keep TOSHIBA recovery on the HARD drive and when I need to use it.
If so, how can I do?
> I was wondering, if I install a new clean Win 7 on my NB550D I keep TOSHIBA recovery on the HARD drive and when I need to use it.
You can keep it, but after installation of clean operating system, you will not be able to start the installation of recovery more. Now, when you press F8, you repair my computer option. After the installation of clean operating system this option will disappear. What you need to do is to create DVDs of recovery or recovery USB key before you install own OS. Be careful about this.

Installation clean victory 8 - recovery on damaged HARD Drive Image
Hi all
I was doing a few BSOD lately, after some research, it appeared due to a missing driver and damaged a windows configuration.
It's an Alienware 17

So I thought to do a factory restore and reinstall windows, but because this machine has been shipped in mid-2013, it has been bundled with windows 8 and 8.1 not. I cannot recover my system with the options of windows using the boot disk, I received when purchasing.
Or reinstall the system via the DVD starts works. Installation could not see my hard drives correctly or missing drivers.
Now, I did a system restore (Yes surprisingly has started up normally this morning) but I am always a little scared and would have preferred a clean install.
Decided to buy Alienrespawn Premium to try to restore my original recovery Image and reinstall the original windows 8 from scratch. But during the selection of these options, I get the message that the image is missing or incomplete. When I try to select another HARD drive he asks to insert a disk external HARD at least 100 GB on this subject. Is there an internal HDD option and select put this system up? I've got 2 750 GB SATA HARD drive and the other has been completely formatted for backup reasons...
Could someone please help me and tell me what to do in this case?
A clean install would be the best way to go, but I tried everything I found on google in communities and to but still do not get them to factory reset my PC...
Thanks in advance
BoempatatMy warranty has expired in order to request a backup CD is not going to work I'm afraid...
I have a cd provided dell with the laptop, but as said my laptop has been delivered with WIN8 not earned 8.1
I can't do a clean install, as described in the article, because it tells me to load the required drivers and there is a missing part so that my cd is in the laptop...
I need to find a way to recover the original recovery on the HARD drive in order to reinstall the complete system with the factory settings...
Please tell me how to do this.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?
Hi KevinRy,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
Unplug all external devices.
Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.
Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:
1.
Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
2.
Click the Advanced tab.
3.
Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
4.
Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
5.
Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.
Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.
Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
Kind regards

Sharing of files and hard drive between computers
Dear Sir or Madam:
I'm trying to connect two computers, which I named system A and system b. Computers and a DSL modem at wire speed Westel are connected to a router Asus WL-520 through ethernet LAN cables wireless/wired. HP PSC 2355 printer is connected to the router with a USB cable. The LAN on board two computers automatically configures the IP addresses of the form 192.168.x.x, which, in my view, to work. However there is no connectivity between the two computers, systems A and B. They do not see the shared disks and files on the other. The operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002 with Service Pack 3, n ° 76477-OEM-0015717-31545.
When I ran the program ipconfig on each a said computer specification that IP routing is not enabled. See the configuration below. IP routing must be enabled in order to have connectivity? How IP routing is enabled in Windows XP? In the Services section of the Control Panel, there is the Routing and remote access, which is disabled and other related networking services, of which some are also disabled. What services must be enabled for computers to connect to share files and hard drives?

Hello
The display is OK. The routing setting this isOoff is not relevant in your case.

Configure all of the computers to share files and you have a network Lcall.
Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions
General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

A1103 new Ram and HARD drive will not start
Hello.
I have a Mac mini A1103. When I got there the folder flashing with question mark. I got a macbook earlier where this problem was solved by installing a new hard drive. so I ordered a new 160 GB IDE 2.5 "5400 RPM and 1 GB Corsair Valueselect DDR1 333 MHz hoping that this will help me get the mini running and preforming a little better with 512 MB of Ram.
When I boot the mini after swapping ram and hard drive I always see the same flashing folder. I can reset the NVRAM Boot, enter diskmode target? (I think) and the Boot Manager.
When I enter the Boot Manager I can see the following screen
a few times I get to this screen for Open Firmware screen where I can use certain commands such as vram-reset reset-all rebot and so, but sometimes I'm just stuck on this screen.
Anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong and what I can try next? I do not have the boot original dvd but I have a usb bootable with IOS 10.6 and a dvd with IOS 10.6 (not original) but I can't get botting from any of the devices.
A Mac Mini A1103 has a G4 Power PC processor and cannot be greater than 10.5.8. Superior OSX versions require an Intel processor.
In this statement "a usb bootable with IOS 10.6 and a dvd with IOS 10.6 (not original)" I think you mean OSX, not of iOS. You must obtain a copy of the original installation disc which was 10.3 or 10.4 or disk to upgrade to 10.4 or 10.5 full retail. Coverall A1103 all three 2005 models of the Mac Mini G4.
You cannot use a grey disc unless it was delivered with your specific Mac. Native gray disc with Macs and can not e used on the other model of disc.
You can probably call Apple and order a copy of the original disks

23 - f270: RAM and hard drive one device?
Hello
I had recently a hard drive has failed/bad in my computer that was just out of warranty, so I took my computer to a computer repair man who said he could replace the old/bad disk with a new one. This man didn't really hold up to the end of his contract, and now I find myself in a dispute with him as he always has my HP PC and he gave me a lesser Dell as if to replace. Now, I contacted the office busniness better for resolving this dispute. But it is now trying to claim that he gave me the HP drive hard and RAM unit. This man gave me was a rectangular metal box telling me that it was the old bad hard drive. So what I need to know is are the hard drive and RAM in this a model room? I need proof that if the RAM is not present, he was the one who pulled it and sold it. They only gave me one of the components of the computer, and I would like to know if the RAM and hard drive are one or two pieces of sepearte?
Thank you
Hello
RAM and hard drive (HDD) are two different things. Your machine has 6 GB of RAM, which means it has 2 sticks, and 1 TB of HDD (1 unit). His record:

Satellite C660 - compatibility between motherboard and hard drive internal
Hi, I have a problem with the compatibility between the internal (1 terabyte) hard drive and installing windows 7 pro.
I broke my old internal hard drive (320 GB) and I bought the new hd (1 tb), but during the installation it says that w7 cannot be installed on this new hard drive. Can my pc motherboard (serial number: 3B071014k) support the new hard drive (serial number: wd10jpvx)?
and if the answer is 'yes', how can I make it work?First of all the question has nothing to do with the motherboard and HARD drive compatibility.
If the HARD drive is visible in the BIOS (first page), the HARD drive is supported by the BIOS and HARD disk controller.
In the case where the drive HARD isn't recognized, you will need to replace this HARD drive with another. I guess the smaller size of the 2.5 SATA HDD THAT would be taken in charge (500 GB)However, in case the HARD disk is visible in the BIOS, you should be able to install Windows 7.
Before starting the installation, you must format the HARD drive and should create the system partition.
For this procedure, I recommend to use some tools such as partitions for example: GParted
GParted is a freeware Linux tool.
You can create a bootable USB key in order to start the device using GParted:
http://gparted.sourceforge.NET/LiveCD.phpThen, you should be able to format the HARD disk and create partitions.

Satellite A50: Question about type RAM and HARD drive
Anyone out there who would try to open their laptop Toshiba Satellite A50, what type of RAM and hard disk of brand you all have inside?
All the portable toshiba comes with Toshiba RAM and hard drive?Hello
As far as I know the Satellite A50 uses DDR PC2700 modules. These modules must be compatible:
PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)There are different models of Satellite A50, but I think that there should be a drive HARD IDE(ATA-6) 60 GB 4200 RPM with 8 MB buffer size.
Here is all the information I found.

SL 410 Upgrade ram and hard drive
Hi all
I have been using the 410-2842-rk1 model Lenovo thinkpad SL for a year and a half.
No problems until now
I want to upgrade the RAM and hard drive of this machine.
At the time of purchase, I had seen that I could improve up to 1 TB of hard drive.
Please guide me if I can or not.
About the RAm too, I need assistance (maximum limit I can update)
Thanks in advance...
You can switch to a 1 TB HDD providing it will fit physically. They are more hard are 9.5 mm thick but some hard drives of 1 TB are 12.5 mm thick. If you get a 9.5 mm HARD drive then it will work. Readers of 12.5 mm is too thick to fit.
Regarding the RAM, you can install up to 8 GB of RAM, which is 2 x 4 GB.

Envy 15 t: upgrade memory and hard drive HP ENVY 15t
Hi guys, I just bought the HP Envy 15 not touch t (ae100) with the following characteristics:
-CPU & graphics: 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core processor + Intel HD Graphics 530
-Memory: 8 GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM
-Hard drive: 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive
I have a few questions about it. First of all, my laptop doesn't have a vacant unit of m2 where I can insert an SSD and if not a SATA 3 2.5-inch SSD fits instead of the hard disk without additional fixing or need support.
Second, is there an empty memory slot to insert a 8 GB of additional ram.
Any kind of assistance will be extremely useful and thanks in advance.
No crack m2. From the Manual:
Only dedicated support of storage SATA m2 (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics)
So if you have Intel HD video only you do not have a slot m2.
Here's the manual for your use:
Yes on the memory 8 GB 2d module:
Both not accessible/upgradable module DDR3L-1600 slots double channel memory support 16 GB of RAM in the following conƭgurations ● 16384-Mo (8192 MB × 2)
Access to the memory and hard drive are obtained by removing the lower cover. Technically this is not allowed to the end user if security is jeopardized.
A standard 2.5 inch SATA SSD to integrate perfectly in the original hardware for hard disk 5400 RPM. It is a highly recommended update. The 16 GB of RAM not so much, but it's one of those things "might as well" If you are determined to go there.
Let us know if you need more information.
