Win32/Small.ca virus

My windows 7 system crashed yesterday and the problem rem\port said to remove the virus Win32/Small.CA. I ran my usual antivirus program & it found no infection, I also ran the MS recommended security Scan, but it reported no infection also.  What now? As a side note my wireless connection collapsed working yesterday also, don't know if this is related.

Hello

Microsoft has registered this as serious a virus: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Virus%3aWin32%2fSmall.R

Have you downloaded Malware bytes and ran who? If not, do it now: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

I hope this helps.

  • How to remove my small.ca virus win32?

So, I was infected by small win32. ca virus. Blue screen of death and all. The path of the failing application seems to be C:\Windows\System32\services.exe but when I scan it with my software McAfee and Malwarebytes Anti-Malwarenothing presents. I scanned with Malwarebytes and TDSS Killer of Kaspersky and it still cannot detect it. I found some infected software and removed it but not win32, because at the time I got another blue screen of death.

I also tried to manually remove the virus, but all the instructions step by step won't help me I can not find my virus to use. For example, it was suggested that I watch processes in my task manager for random.exe but I couldn't find that. Another suggested I change my registry and gave the names of files that Win32 hides usually below but I have not found anyone.

Please please please give me great detailed instructions how to remove this virus. I searched on other forums of discussion and tried other solutions, but they have not worked for me.

I recommend that you review the following.  If you have made reasonable efforts to locate and delete/quarantine declared malware from your computer then this can be a false alarm by Action Center.  It occurs on an occasional basis, but not necessarily aimed this reported malware.

Your BSOD may not be malware related, but just what is causing this BSOD can possibly cause a false reading to the center of the Action.
Have you studied the BSOD in Event Viewer to determine what is the cause?  Probably a driver is faulty - I had one of these last week on a desktop XP - a first in a few months on this computer and once again, he said it was a Windows Media Player problem - beats me.  It's frustrating.
    Good luck...
  • Remove virus Win32/Small.CA

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.  Windows Action Center reported that I needed to remove the virus from my PC.

I have done complete analyses of the entire hard disk with Sophos Anti-virus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, the safety of Microsoft, and Microsoft Security Essentials scan Scanner.  None of these programs reported the discovery of the virus.

It was a false alarm of Windows?  Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thanks and regards.

    Hello

After all these virus scan, now open Windows Action Center and check the status.

Action Center brings together the key to maintenance Windows alerts and security features, including Windows, Windows Defender error reporting and user account control. If Windows needs your attention, the Action Center icon appears in the taskbar.

  • Win32 PKU [TRG] Virus or Malware Downloader

I use the free version of Avast more Malwarebytes that I use on my Inspiron 14R - Windows 7.  That afternoon, Avast began with pop - up warnings saying:

    Blocked Trojan horse.

Infection: Win 32 Downloader PKU [Trg] and

Infection: Win 32 Malware - gen

    Action: Moved to the chest.

I ran Spybot and Malwarebytes.  They have found and cleaned a few things but pop ups keep coming.

These warnings are popping up every 5 minutes or more.  I googled 'Win 32 Downloader PKU [Trg]' and the trusted site only talk about malware is an Avast forum which recommended to post a long report, disabling Avast, download and run software programs and so on.  Messages from the forum on the issue are very recent, but what they offer seems a bit too complicated for me.

This is a serious issue and is there a more easy way to deal with it.  I don't understand why it's only a matter of Avast.  I can do a restore or should I buy or use another anti-virus software?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

It is there really not enough information (for example, the NAME of files that avast has detected).

"Malware - gen" peut indicate a virus - then again, it may simply be a 'false positive' detection... especially if, as you said, "it's only a matter of Avast.   (Which again once underscores the need for you to process carefully, getting a correct analysis of YOUR particular situation.)

I think I have found the avast forum thread you are referring.   One of the tools submitted ComboFix.   Note that ComboFix should NOT be run unless we personally recommend to do it, under the supervision of a malware removal expert.

Unfortunately, head-to-analysis or remove malware is is more done on the Dell Forums.

Instead, you must follow the instructions at http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=79038 to sign up and post the logs requested to SpywareInfoForum.com ; There are experts here AIDS that can 'walk you through' procedures to analyze your system and clean the infection.   Any help provided that it is FREE.   If you decide to go to help them, please wait for a response and do NOT try to perform any other scans to remove yourself – do exactly as they ask you to do, no more, no less.

    Good luck!

    Hi pik11,

See the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2:

Perform the scan in safe mode with network.

Proceed as described in the following link to start in safe mode with network and run the virus scan.

Start your computer in safe mode

Scan your computer for Microsoft Safety Scanner, it will help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
    Hope this information helps.

This could be the result of malware, or it could be a mistake with service pack 2.

Download, update and perform a quick scan with Malwarebytes. If there is no threat detected then you know that the issue is probably with sp2. Nevertheless, you need to update to sp3. Make sure that the system is also a free malware first.

  • Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute. Please save your work not

Original title: I have Windows Vista home basic. Whenever I try to connect to the internet I get the error "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute. Please save your work now' and the computer restarts

This started happening a few days ago. I tried to run the software anti-virus and 3 different registry cleaners and nothing helped. I use a mobile internet USB and when I tried to run safe mode with networking of the device was not recognized.

Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this?

This is the Win32/Trojan.Shutdowner virus and rootkit causes this error. I think that it is the solution: download and burn the ISO image of kav rescue ofhttp://rescuedisk.kaspersky-labs.com/rescuedisk/updatable/kav_rescue_10.isoon CD. Make a start of full system scan from the disc that you created. Remove infections all found, including this stupid annoying rootkit, and you're done! At least it worked for me!

  • Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute. Please save your work now.

Hello world. Since I installed Windows 7 Home Premium, I had problems with an error message displayed when I start my computer. The error message said, as in the title, "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute. Please save your work now. ». After a minute, the computer is forced to restart, it closed suddenly, without any message "Shutdown of Windows". The problem occurs very often, I want to say that it appears whenever I start my computer. I don't know what to do, it's really annoying.

I found a microsoft forum, when someone posted an article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976586/) when it was said something to the topic 'how to activate her do not require account Kerberos preauthentication option", but I did not understand how to do this. If anyone can help me, please do it, each response is welcome. (Sorry my bad English, I'm still student - Romanian).

Hi again! I managed t solve the problem myself, using Kaspersky Rescue CD 10. This is the Win32/Trojan.Shutdowner virus and rootkit causes this error. I think this is the solution to all of you who have this problem. Download and burn to a CD from the ISO image of kav rescue of http://rescuedisk.kaspersky-labs.com/rescuedisk/updatable/kav_rescue_10.iso. Make a start of full system scan from the disc that you created. Remove infections all found, including this stupid annoying rootkit, and you're done! At least it worked for me! Thanks again to all who have tried to help me!
