• Student Upgrade Win7 64 bit on a new computer

  I built my own computer and it is ready for an operating system.  I have Win7 64 bit.  I am a student and I am eligible for a reduced price.  I'm a little confused because it says I want to download Windows 7 Professional Upgrade.  This 'upgrade' will allow me to install the OS on a computer brand new with no previous operating system?  I also have the option to pay for a disk.  Is this disc a full version?  If I download this update can I just load into a USB and loading the BIOS? or do I need a full version?

• CS5 Pathfinder - 'Break down' button doesn't work anymore?

  Hi folks!

  Hey, I noticed since I upgraded to Illustrator CS5 that 'Development' button in the pathfinder dialog box is no longer becomes "activated" when I click on any of the Pathfinder icon functions.

  Someone knows why?

  For example: if I have two overlapping selected and click on the button/icon "welding" within Pathfinder - the two paths automatically welded together, without having to click the "Expand" button as I did in Illustrator CS3.  This is true for all Pathfinder function icons in the dialog box.

  Can someone explain the 'change' for me?

  Also - if the 'Expand' button becomes ever 'active/clickable'... so why even contain it more?

  They changed this in CS4. Now, if you hold down the "ALT" key when you click a shape mode, they have not automatically expand (you used to hold down 'ALT' pressed when using modes of the form to automatically extend without having to go through the 'Expand' button). They changed, I presume, because most of the people still stretch this forms. But there are times you want to use the methods of the form, but not simplify the paths. Now this by organizing 'ALT' when clicking a mode of the form and the button of 'Development' is there so that if you need later develop, you can.

  The most common cause to stop suddenly a computer is an overheating problem.  Normally, the fan runs faster the CPU heats up.  If you have noticed that your fan runs fast most of the time, that would be your first clue.  Also, if the fan is not spinning, this can also cause overheating. If the fan runs, the most common cause of overheating is an accumulation of dust inside the computer.  You can download the following freeware program which should indicate how hot your CPU becomes:

  If it detects overheating, try blowing compressed air into the vents to loosen and remove dust.

I uninstalled it, check "incompatible with my system" and my computer turned on like never before. Lightning fast connections and no message more "this connection is not approved. Wow.   After a verey frustrating weekend of research into the problem, I find that there is no solution to the incompatibility of the HP Pavilion / 220 Nvidio (N11071) and 64-bit win.

  Not wanting to spend money on a new map to see the same error occurs, I'll now wait for win7 SP1 (ormaybe even 2) in the hope that a workaround is provided.

  If you have both installed on separate partitions/hard disks, they are considered separate or computers, facilities so yes, both must have unique names.

And, System Restore is not a way to solve this problem, it's just a quick fix. I have three internal hard disks, three hard drives, card reader external drives, USB keys, disks, etc. I need a way to solve this problem when it happens. So far, happened about 9 times in the last six weeks since I installed Win7 64 bit ATU.

  There may be an update of the motherboard BIOS to solve the problem.

  Otherwise, as your card readers are no doubt attached via USB the usual way to solve this problem would be to uninstall the drives and the USB controllers and devices in the system restore.
