Window 7 64 bit Ping Spike every 10 seconds
Once more, I ask this question! I tried to fix it by:
go to regedit---> FFFFF (does not work)--> still get ping spike!
Disable Ipcv 6---> still get ping spike!
some suggestions about the Wlan configuration: turn off = disconnect = cannot join the game.
Disable my antivirus, my fraps, xfire ===> still get ping spike!
My network card driver update / reinstall my driver ==> later ==> ping spike always get!
I used my old laptop (Windows xp) ===> no Pic of ping at all (using wireless)
What should I do?
I am playing games online!
My ping is 10-17 (normal). After that I have to play the game as 10-20 seconds, my ping will up to 1500-2500-3500-4400 within 2 seconds, then it turns to normal. It occurs every 20 seconds. Please help me
I don't want to demean my win 7 ==> win Xp.
Hi Beckdavid,
Before solve us the problem I need more information on the issue, that you face.
-What do you mean by Ping Spike every 10 seconds?
-Do you mean are you lose internet connectivity?
-This only happens when playing online games?
-Should he behave normal when you play the game online?
-C' is comes up with a particular game or all games?
Also access the link for how to ask a question and publish the exact details of your problem.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375
However, if you are facing this problem only for the online game you try to purge the DNS and check if it works normally.
To clear the cache of DNS resolution, perform the following steps:
- Click Start.
- In the search box of start CMD.
- In the list select CMD and right-click on it and click Run as administrator.
- At the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns, and then press ENTER.
- Restart the computer and check that it works very well
I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds.
My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds for the last 8 days. Window XP SP3. I spent 1-1/2 hours will dell workstation support and 1-1/2 hours with my computer work (shot as a favor to my personal computer) and they find nothing, MacAfee installed, updated several full scan virus. A ran Malwarebyte s multiple crawls - nothing. Kaspersky lab - nothing. Computer work ran a vrius start-up detector and nothing. No error log is generated. And two technicians stop various folders in the Task Manager and NOTHING he did stop. I was sent a disc of reinstalling XP SP3 Dell and I did a repair XP complete with no fix. Technician COMPUTER checked a bunch of stuff and thought it was "related to a driver." Regardless of what is the cause, how do I find the problem and fix it. Thank you
@GarySibley:
Thanks for the comments, and I'm happy that you found. Although I'm not surprised that an msiInstaller error could have caused a "critical stop" but I never thought that he would deliver the error never seconds.
@JudsonWelcher:
I suggest you also check your event viewer to find errors msiinstaller. I've seen other posts where a sound "critical stop" appears to be linked to these errors (but like I said above, not continuous repetitions of the error).
There is no easy way that I know to track this sort of thing. Before you start the method of 'Clean boot' or start using the process monitor, open the sound control panel applet and scroll down to check that Windows XP stop critique.wav has not been assigned to certain events in addition (or instead of) a real stop critical Windows.

When streaming audio via the audio interface USB 2.0 Audio Class Compliant on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit update, there's regular CPU usage spikes up to 100% every 15 seconds, sometimes amounting to audio dropouts. Utility LatencyMon v6.5 reports that huge amount of CPU time is spent inside the usbport.sys driver whenever there are any audio stream of isochronous USB happening. I know that there is a supposed to be available to target exactly this problem - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/981214 fix - but the fix refuses to install, probably because the fix itself is quite old and does not seem to recognize the latest versions of the drivers usb*.sys on any instance to date of Windows 7.
I have tested and confirmed this problem on two different mobile-class workstation laptops from different manufacturers, both based on Intel 7 series / C216 QM77 chipset (Panther Point) and using the integrated chipset USB host controllers to connect to the audio interface (a 18i20 of Focusrite Scarlett). One of the laptops has EHCI and controllers xHCI routed to different physical ports, the other laptop has all the physical ports connected to xHCI; It might be interesting to note that the problem seems identical to the audio interface is connected to EHCI or xHCI. All other possible causes that usbport.sys were eliminated by a careful configuration and the measure, i.e. There is no limitation, no turbo CPU, no CPU C-State, not of processor HyperThreading, no food, no virtual memory paging management event, not even any SMI (System Management interrupt) passes, everything boils down to usbport.sys hogging the CPU.
It would also be interesting to note that according to Intel, there are a bunch of bugs known to host USB controller Series 7 / C216 chipsets, one can find an Errata section detailed from page 15 of the document Spec update - http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/7-series-chipset-pch-spec-update.pdf
Could this problem hogging CPU actually come from bugs in the hardware host controller USB drive operating system driver nuts? Or it comes from a bug unrelated in the OS driver? And what happened to the existing of the fix, why he refuses to install the operating system to date and how is the same old problem suddenly reappeared on automatically updating Windows 7 systems?
It is in any event, that my most sincere and humblest hold like a paying customer for a hotfix update fix this if possible, one that is truly committed to settle. Without corrective work, Windows 7 machines are quite useless for all serious audio work. I also feel that I speak not only for me but for all members of the global computer audio community who are trying to use Windows 7 with audio USB.
Just upgraded my Windows 7 Professional for Windows 10 Pro and the issue hogging CPU is now gone - no pics no CPU more, more dropouts no audio USB. (It would still be nice to have a fix for Windows 7 someday, too)

Windows 7 Windows Explorer keeps crashing and restarting every 10 seconds.
I have a problem with the Windows Explorer. It keeps crashing and restarting every 10 seconds as soon as windows loads. I got in safe mode, and this error does so. My computer is free from virus/spyware etc...
Thank you for your support in advance. I need to solve this problem quickly, I would appreciate your help.
I have Windows Home Premium 64 bit
4 GB OF RAM
2.4 GHz
NVidia GeForce GT 320M
Thank you for your help, but I tried something else. What you suggested, it was too complicated for me :) I restored Windows 7 to the point before the problem started (which was a recent Java Update December 26) and even if he says that restoration could not be complete, it seems to be invalid the latest version of Sun Java and Windows Explorer now works as it is supposed to.
I have a new question now, if update SunJava caused my windows Explorer keep crashing how can I keep the java software to install this update again? Thanks a lot for your help.

Windows 8 gives me high ping periodic and consistent spikes every 10 seconds
I'll use the League of Legends for example (but I have confirmed that this problem is not exclusive to LoL, it applies to all internet connections.)
Updated versions of Windows 8, I had 86ping perfectly fine, compatible on windows 7 while playing League of legends. After the upgrade to windows 8, all 10 seconds or if my ping would be pointing up anywhere between 300-800 ms. It might soar at this time for a little, then fall back down to 86ping front of fortification to new 10 seconds later.I have a computer running windows 7 with perfectly coherent 86ping on the League without any enrichment, and my computer of windows 8 is still doping.I can say with confidence that windows 8 has caused this problem somehow, whether directly or indirectly, as evidenced by other complaints people have had about 8 windows and games.Afflicted - computerASUS Zenbook Prime - UX31ABell fiber optics Internet 25/7 MB (download and upload respectively speeds)I have the same problem on win 10 did you find a solution?

Windows 7 keeps asking my PW every 30 seconds!
I've searched high and low and can't find anything that should / could control this dysfunction. I withdraw my PW (not a good idea), but Windows 7 still appears with the check-in of the user anyway, even without the PW.
It is very boring and tedious to have to go through this process as often as 30 times EVERY hour. If I'm typing or clicking on anything, then Windows does NOT interrupt me. But if I want to read a long email, or an article, then I am stopped. What in the world is happening here?Thank you!The only sign in guests is the email, messenger, or other similar applications.

As you can see, every 8 to 12 seconds or so the ping spikes. I also have the symmetrical experience drops in bandwidth when, for example. update of a game in steam, I guess these are related.
I tried to use a different router at my place of work, but the problem persists; the tips of ping every 8 to 12 seconds. I tried to change channels on my router at home, nothing helps, my ISP upgraded the firmware of the router, but with no effect on the tips of ping.
I tried to find a solution online, but I couldn't find anything for this case. I have an idea that the spikes are perhaps caused by my macbook pro to roaming for wireless signals, but the only solutions I've found regarding this issue relate to the PC.
Maybe this is caused by the update of January in El Capitan?
Any help would be appreciated
Hi Mljodense:
When you click send ping was he set up to send a number of pings or have you click you send an unlimited number of ping.
See this article. http://www.Macworld.co.UK/how-to/Mac/how-test-ping-on-your-Mac-3524076/

Running Windows 7, 64-bit, using IE 9, Facebook games keep telling me every morning I do it to install Adobe Flash Player, and all goes well, that day, then the next day, get the same message, is there a permanent fix for this somewhere?
It could be related to ActiveX filtering, too. Adobe Flash seems to work on IE only with ActiveX filtering disabled (I also have these messages, they never appear on Chrome or other browsers who do not share this security feature).

Spike in ping every 60 seconds, wmp54g
Vista ultimate x 64
WRT120N router
Wmp54g V4 adapter
All by sucking my router, 192.168.1.1 I noticed every 60 seconds, the ping to dope for about 1000 Ms. tested on my laptop, and it didn't happen. When this happen the packet loss on the ts2 and TS3 Server I use jumps to 50%
Have not yet tried a lot, locked the router mode G, tried the channels 1, 6 and 11. Tried with filtering mac on and out, swell like wpa security. Tested also with SPI firewall turned on and off.
I'm about 15 feet above my router, 1 wall with a constant of 5/5 bars. The laptop is about 20-25 feet away.
I also noticed that this adapter refuses to download at a faster rate that about 400 kB/s, even the wusb100 Wireless USB adapter I was using yesterday would go at least 650.
Replaced the USB with the pci I had problems of connections. Constant disconnects, everything that involves connecting to multiple computers, it made disconnect.
Really, the points don't bother me as much as the slow download rate.
In fact, using other drivers linksys garbage drivers worked fine. Switched on the drivers Ralink, and his work very well now.
For anyone wondering, it's the pilot "PCI/mPCI/CB (RT256x/RT266x).

Hey all,.
If you have a ping spike/temporarily stopped in connection with your wireless adapter, this is probably the solution for you!
You can read my story here of my previous thread about my problems and solutions I've tried along the way.
http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/Linksys/board/message?board.ID=Wireless_Adapters&thread.ID=22612
I have not yet official Linksys promised support they'd contact me and have not found a solution here in the forums I took matters a little further and did the research myself to fix this problem.
See my response below direcly for the solution.
So, the problem is mostly with people with linksys adapters and vista 64 (could also affect other OS, but found 64 a lot more when searching).
1. If you have 64 bit vista drivers, first download drivers 64 bit XP linksys for your card, then uninstall your current drivers completely removing them (via Device Manager) and all managers of linksys (via Control Panel > functions of the program)
2. restart your computer.
3. install 64-bit XP via Device Manager drivers > network card (should have an exclaimation mark next to him now) > update driver (then point on where the driver XP 64 is, to ENSURE that it has no. OTHER DRIVERS in THE SAME FOLDER! so after you download linksys files, DELETE ALL FILES BUT THE XP 64 bit ones.)
4. connect to your wireless router, then go to start menu > type cmd (open in administrator mode) > type [command netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled = no interface = "Wireless network connection"] (without the square brackets []), replace with all wireless network connection this as your network connection, your computer connects to. You can check that you are connected by going here... Control Panel > network and sharing Center > manage network connections
Now you should have no problems with your connection, as well as ping spikes, check that it works by going to your command-line typing ping 192.168.1.1 - n 100
change the 192.168.1.1 to all what your router address, at the end of the audit, there was no spikes high and everything works!
Here is the part the shit, every time that you start your computer again or lose the connection with the wireless signal, you must re-enable the automatic configuration service in the cmd prompt, command netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled = yes interface = "wireless network connection".
And once you have connected to your router, you should disable this auto config connection.
I don't know how it will work on any other OS, but I guess it will be a similar solution (unless this question is strictly caused by 64-bit)
Now, seeing as how my other wireless adapters do not have this problem, I think that there is a problem with linksys and their drivers for these affected products. It of a gene to do these things, but I guess that's how things will work up to linksys sees this post and if everything goes well he corrected with a new driver update :-D
Feel free to post your success stories here! I will accept responses and congratulations in lieu of payment :-D
And if a moderator can sticky, I think this will help a lot of people because I noticed a number on these forums with this problem.
