Hi This is my first attempt to help in this way. my asset is not only the best please understen. About a week or two ago, I started to get a wjndow pop up on my desk which read "the smtp server requires a secure connection or the Chief client was not authenticated. the response from the server was 5.5.1 that required authentication. Learn more,". Microsoft won't say that Live Mail only on line help. If anyone can help, I would be greatfull. Tanks

Hi Firedog, thanks for your effect. You're really nice. There was a misunderstanding from the very beginning because a technician of Optus suggested Live Mail. Here is a link to the screen shot of the message (thanks to a tip on how to do this). https://SkyDrive.live.com/redir?RESID=5EBCF026C069D223! 112 & authkey =! AEbfWyyrYKtIH3g by the way the problem has been resolved by a kind person in Switzerland with whom I am in regular correspondence. Here's what we did. I downloaded a track from "Trojan Remover" version, run it and it removed a Trojan horse embedded in a file named skillfully as one of the windows updates. Unfortunately the file has been deleted by Trojan Remover without register the full name. He was placed in users /my name /folder AppData. If the problem is solved but a big thank you to all who helped. I have a program of security installed on my PC, but it does not take this Infection, time to consider my safety. Greetings and thanks a lot again.

  • I would like to know how to prevent messages sent to be registered on the SMTP server

    Currently, my Thunderbird client saves a copy of all messages sent to the folder "sent", as expected. All sent messages are also stored on the Server SMTP (G-Mail in this case). To avoid having to delete them manually, I want to warn the outgoing message to be stored on the SMTP server in the first place. Currently, my account of Thunderbird for Copies and folders settings has a check mark next to the option 'Other' with a destination of the folder option sent in Thunderbird. I don't see any other parameters that could control how sent SMTP mail server handles. I use the POP service only with the G-Mail Server. What settings should be in place to prevent messages accumulate in the folder "sent" on the SMTP server account?

    I think I can now answer my own question! The question turns out to be a g-mail not delivered not a factor controlled by Thunderbird.

    Apparently g-mail can automatically a copy of all mail sent by SMTP service one account. It's a "feature" that cannot be disabled! A workaround seems to be to set up a filter in g-mail account settings for all mail with an address corresponding to your own email address and send the message to the trash folder. Items in the Recycle Bin are automatically deleted after 30 days. Google prevents the rule 30 days being modified by measure of security, but at least trashed messages for irrevocably removed in a month.

  • Email from being erased from the SMTP server blackBerry Smartphones

    I have setup my Storm just to collect email from my personal account, which is in an area of SMTP in Windows Server (no Exchange). I see that when I get a message on the storm, it is immediately removed from the server, so my normal PC does not see everything. There is the option when you delete a message in the storm to remove only locally, or delete the copy on the server and local, but it seems to be a little too rambuncious! For now I have to delete my account off the coast of the storm, but I would really like to be able to use it for timely emails when I go out in the field.

    And you were correct. I did a sniff of this ethernet on the SMTP server port and found an Exchange Server that has a Connector POP3 pointing on the account. Deleted the POP3 Connector (that Exchange server is not live yet) and the post office started acting normally.

  • failed to connect to the SMTP server

    I can't send mail in ThunderBird sometimes. I use 31.5.0 version but I was wrong this problem in older versions either.

    It is said:
    "The message could not be sent because the server name of the SMTP server connection failed. The server is may be unavailable or refuses the SMTP connections. Please check that your SMTP server is correct and try again, or else contact your network administrator. "

    Sometimes, every time. But really bad situation for me. It happens with hotmail, gmail and with my own email accounts. For the time being. It sends to all accounts except for Hotmail. I tried not in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Connection_errors_-_SMTP , but there is no change.

    Firefox 3.6.6 added a new preference for connection settings, use proxy Panel"system settings", and the default value is the point. • WebEx meeting Server 2.0 - setting up the smtp server

    Configuration of SMTP server for the Webex Server 2.0 meeting, the manual States:

    Possibly to enable authentication of mail server, select the server authentication enabled.

    If you enable authentication, enter credentials user name and password required for the system access to the e-mail server of the company.

    System emails are sent by admin @. Make sure that the mail server can recognize this user.

    -What exactly does "ensure that the mail server can recognize this user"?

    • I have to configure the admin @ account on the SMTP server? (customer can configure only e-mail as account [email protected] / * /)
    • Or admin @ is the property of «of» the mail and SMTP server should accept this property 'from'?

    -What happens if the user name and password are not specified?

    Thank you

    Here you have two options:

    (1) either use authentication: you must create a user account in exchange.

    (2) do not use authentication: let disabled authentication and configure exchange to relay emails from CWMS.

    "-What exactly does 'To ensure that the mail server can recognize this user'"?".

    "- What happens if the user name and password are not specified?"

    This means that if you enable authentication - create a user account for CWMS in Exchange. If this isn't the case, then have the exchange server that is configured to relay CWMS emails. Its simple allow only the ip address of CWMS in Exchange to accept and relay e-mail.

    If it does not means that you don't want to receive emails from CWMS and as you know email principal means of CWMS communicate with users.

    Simple way is to leave off authentication and configure the relay. I did this couple of times in the past without problems.

  • I'm answering an ad on craigslist and Outlook Wizard Windows wonder for the mail server (POP, IMAP, or HTTP) and anSMTP server used for incoming mail. How can I find these?

    I'm tryilng for answering an ad on craigslist. I could never do it because when I try to answer the ad, I am sent to Windows Outlook Wizard. I wonder for an incoming mail server. (POP, HTTP IMAPor) and an SMTP server for mail out. Where can I get these from?

    Sorry, but I don't know a thing about dam on computers. I use it a lot... What is an ISP?

    ISP = Internet service provider.  Anyone who buys a PC and want to get online purchases this connectivity with an Internet service provider.  A lot of people get their Internet service from their cable company, like Comcast or Charter.  Some use AT & T.  Some use Verizon.

    Most (all?) Internet service providers also has mail services, assigning to customers who want one, an e-mail address.  AT & T, for example, provides e-mail ending addresses by @att.net.  People can also use independent e-mail like Google Mail providers, Hotmail/Live or Yahoo, which do not depend on any of particular Internet Service provider.

    Clearly if you try to answer message from Craig's list, you must have a messaging services provider and an e-mail address for this vendor.  Trying to repond to a message by clicking on a MailTo URL in a web page (i.e., mailto:*** address email is removed from the privacy *) usually, you need a mail client - a program that allows to send and receive mail - on your computer.  If you use an e-mail service such as Hotmail or Google Mail, accessed through a web browser, online then you can not send mail by clicking on the link email in a web page or a message without changing your Windows registry database, something not to be taken lightly by anyone who is a self-proclaimed computer naive.  Some providers of online, like Yahoo Messenger, provide toolbars that integrate with your web browser to provide a part of the functionality of a complete email client, for example the activation of the option click MailTo URLS on web pages.

  • Impossible to connect to the smtp server and send an email using javamail.

    Hi all

    I am struggling with sending e-mail with javamail api.

    I've visited a few forums but not be able to solve the problem then post here.

    Details of the situation are:

    1 SMTP - to which we are able to connect with telnet and able to send emails that work even between the firewall.

    2 tried to disable IPV6 from my windows machine 7 after reading something - java tries to connect to smtp with IPV6 and it should be disabled so that javamail work.

    3 has tried to run the same code to a linux environment. in this environment, we are also able to connect to the smtp with telnet server and send mail

    the code I have tried is below.

    import java.util.*;
    import javax.mail.*;
    import javax.mail.internet.*;
    import javax.activation.*;

    public class SendEmail
    {
    public static void main(String [] args){
    String to = "[email protected]";//change accordingly
    String from = "[email protected]";//change accordingly
    String host = "smtp.somthing.com";//or IP address

    //Get the session object
    Properties properties = System.getProperties();
    properties.setProperty("mail.debug", "true");
    properties.setProperty("mail.smtp.host", host);
    properties.put("mail.smtp.starttls.enable", "false");
    //properties.put("mail.smtp.port", "25"); //commented as its by default takes 25
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(properties);

    ////compose the message
    try{
    MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(session);
    message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(from));
    message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,new InternetAddress(to));
    message.setSubject("Ping");
    message.setText("Hello, this is example of sending email  ");

    // Send message
    Transport.send(message);
    System.out.println("message sent successfully....");

    }catch (MessagingException mex) {mex.printStackTrace();}
    }
    }

    No, no, nothing is more required SMTP side if his performance of the iBots for IDS in-house.

    If you set up SA_SYSTEM correctly, you can send reports to users non-obiee as account gmail etc.

    Try steps below...

    1. create and save a report using your logon fields and the SA_SYSTEM EMAIL that contains the people you want to send the report. Or by email or logon information must be an OBIEE user that exists in the RPD.
    2. create an iBot and under the general tab, the visibility of the non custom data value and run as an administrator account.
    3. set the conditional query on the report you made in step 1.
    4. for recipients, check the box, "to determine the recipients of conditional query. The "column that contains recipients' must be set to 'connection '.
    5. If you want to save the ibot to a shared folder, and then check the box 'Release for subscription' no otherwise.
    6. choose your content delivery and all other options and ensure that planning is set on immediately if you want to get out immediately.
    7. Save and send to any email address that was on the parole request.
