Windows 10 education and problems of Boot Camp 6.0.1

I try to install Windows 10 on my (2.7/8 GB / 256 GB) 2015 13 "rMBP El Cap 10.11.2 running and I do not know how to do in this regard. The first time, I used a regular Windows 10 .iso and it for some reason some wouldn't let me put my education product key in. He told me to remove my USB which held the .iso image file and restart my Mac. Fact that, except it wouldn't let start me in the Boot Camp partition after. Deleted the partition and reformatted my main drive of OS X.

On the second attempt, I downloaded the image file .iso Windows 10 real education of the official academic site of MSFT. I get into Boot Camp, search for the file, set the size of the partition and click on install. It is said he needs an .iso of 64-bit, which I guarantee I have downloaded, as the name of the file has x 64 in it. I tried installation + 5 times and now it keeps giving me this message: "Boot Camp only supports installation of 8 or a later version of Windows 64 bit on this platform." Please use an ISO for 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation file. "What's the problem? Do I need to install the standard Windows 10 .iso image file and then upgrade to education edition once I get to the desktop? It was only to take less than an hour, and now it's happening 2 hours!

1. the MD5sum of the ISO, make sure it is not corrupted during the download.

2. teaching can be problematic.

3. after each attempt to install Windows, run

4. your model uses an OSXRESERVED partition, not a USB port. If the USB key contains the ISO (a single file, not a Windows Installer), copy it to your documents folder and let the BCA to serve. Do not open the ISO in the BCA process.

Yes, you must purchase a full license for the second installation of Windows 7 product key.  1 activation allows only one Windows 7 product key.  Apparently, you now have a second facility that requires a second product key. Carey Frisch

  • Windows 10 can be installed on Boot Camp Version 4.1

    Hello

Windows 10 can be installed on Boot Camp Version 4.1? Whenever I do a page search thishappens which show how update but I have read that Windows 10 requires an updated Boot Camp (v6).

Or better yet 6 Boot Camp out again? If so, how do I update my Boot Camp?

FYI: that's what I did to get the version of Boot Camp, I went to my Windows partition click on icon Boot Camp and click on the button on Boot Camp and I got 4.1.

I'm running Windows 7 on Mac OSX El Capitan.

    Any advice?

If you already have installed W7 you can pass up to W10. Bootcamp may be necessary if you need to re - install W10. If your model of Mac is not listed in the link you found, Apple does not officially support W10 on your Mac, which means that there is no W10 driver certified for your model of Mac.

  • Windows 10 could not locate the boot camp partition

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on an iMac end of 2015 with a 512 SSD.  With the help of Boot Camp and an ISO of Windows 10, I am able to create the Bootcamp partition and the iMac restarts in the Windows of Windows installation. I enter my product key for my Windows 7 DVD and reach the screen showing partitions.  I select "disk 0 Partition 5 Boot Camp" partition and click on 'Format' according to the Apple support document.  The partition is then renamed to 'Drive Partition 0 5'.  When I select the next button, I get the following error message:- "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.  For more information, see the Setup logs files'.  The Windows Installer does not progress.  I deleted the partition several times using bootcamp and restarted the installation and always get the same failure.

Any advice on how to install Windows would be greatly appreciated.  Boot Camp 6 will let me install Windows 7 on the iMac and so I need to use Windows 10.  I guess the Windows 10 ISO downloaded from Microsoft will work with the Windows 7 product key and Setup seems to accept it.

Please, disconnect all external storage devices to your iMac and run the following two procedures.

  • problem with Boot Camp, VMware Fusion 3, ethernet does not (not driver)

    Hello guys,.

I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed in Boot Camp and I'm running as a virtual machine using VMware Fusion OSX 10.6.6 3.1.2.

The problem I have is that the ethernet does not work under VMware, even with VMware Tools installed.  Device Manager shows no driver installed.

I googled and found a lot of suggestions to add ethernet0.virtualDEV = "e1000" to the simultaneous file, but I looked and this line is already there.

I tried reinstalling VMware, VMware Tools, the Boot Camp drivers, NIC Add/Remove VMware settings, change NAT to the deck and vice versa. Nothing works.

    Any suggestions?

  • Location and size of boot camp

I'm on a 2015 15 "MacBook Pro with dedicated smart running El Capitan graphics card. I run software that requires Windows and seeks to implement the BootCamp to run Windows for the handful of times a month I need to use the software. My hard drive is a 500gig SSD, but I have only about 80 free concerts. I moved my iTunes and pictures libraries on a Thunderbolt 2 TB external drive. I have 1 TB free on this disk. My options are 1) using most of my remaining space internal to the BootCamp partition SSD, 2) using the external drive Thunderbolt or 3) a USB 3.0 128 GB Thumb Drive for the Boot Camp partition.

Does anyone have suggestions about where would be the best place to put this partition? Or I'd better watch the virtual machines running off the external drive?

    Thank you.

My recommendation is to 100 GB minimum for Windows and your Windows data. More if you have a lot of data. The Boot Camp partition must be on your internal drive. Read and follow the instructions of Boot Camp.

    A virtual machine is running.

  • Windows 7 smaller size of the boot camp partition

    Hello world

IM pretty new to mac and here next week, I want to buy the mbp 13 "retina 128 GB of storage. im a student of college and also the study, I might also want to play games and found that mac offer boot camp for w7. with my 128 GB of storage, which would be the smallest size of my partition w7, including some games total about 20 GB? 50 GB w7 partition would be enough?

    Thank you very much

    Hi Ashcroft:

This is a technical note on installing Windows 7 on Bootcamp. Install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support

My personal opinion is that 128 GB is perhaps not large enough even without installing Windows 7.

The new Macbook Pro is not really scalable. Memory is soldered in and the PCIe SSDS are very expensive. Also if you open the back of your computer to upgrade the SSD, you could void your warranty.

If you read some posts there are a few from today on people who want to spend 500 GB SSD as they meed more space.

So I consider getting more than 128 GB.

    Just my opinion.

  • For Windows 8.1 and XP dual-boot

After buying a desktop PC HP Pavilion 500 - 245ea last week, I find now that I can't run a significant number of programs I use on my XP Machine, and instead of running two PC, I need to set up this new PC with Dual Boot installation.

To do this, I need to partition the hard drive and install Windows XP first before installing Windows 8.1, which is difficult with a preinstalled windows 8.1 already on the PC and no record of widows 8.1.

    Please notify

    Hi, Jack:

I don't know of any PC, you can get today who have the support and drivers for Windows XP.

Al I can say is that if you want a PC based on an Intel processor, you cannot get one that has a 8-series chipset.

Intel 7 series and older chipsets support drivers for XP somewhere - not necessarily have HP.

Then, you also have to make sure the graphics and audio chips drivers XP.

Try to get a PC with the Realtek HD audio chip.  Realtek has XP drivers for audio.

    Best regards

    Paul

  • No network, but only with Windows 7 Boot Camp

I don't know if this is a problem of "Windows 7"or a problem of 'Boot Camp', but when the Boot Camp partition is virtualized within a session of OS X, it fails to make any network connections. "  Various distributions of Linux - Fedora, Ubuntu, Puppy - everything can be browsed, a virtualized XP, 7 all simply not possible.

    Ipconfig says:

It is the same, if the virtual machine is set to "Bridged" or "NAT".  This is the second version of the Fusion, I ran and I had similar problems with the previous.

    Very confusing.

OK, VMnet2 was created by VMware Fusion when you selected "connect directly to physical network (bridged) Using: Ethernet" in the Boot Camp: network configuration.  The vmware.log file, I see that you have played a bit with the settings of network tries a bit to get this working.  All you need to do is remove all the network adapters in the Boot Camp: network settings, then add a single network of return and set it to NAT.  Then, you should have an Internet/network connectivity assuming that the host is.
