Windows 10 Reset, need to enter new product key?

Hello

I got a HP ENVY m6 (if it matters) and has recently decided to do a reset on my laptop. When I first got the laptop it was running Windows 8, which I then upgraded to Windows 10. After rebooting, my laptop is back to Windows 8, which is not a problem but it asks me to activate windows by entering a new product key. I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 once again, but the installation will not continue without me activate windows.

I get the error code is 0xC004C003 and he says: "the activation server determined that the specified product key has been blocked. Why windows ask for another product key after than a simple reset?

Any help is appreciated as I am dumbfound massively and lost on this issue.

Thank you

    Hello

You cannot change your motherboard without the approval and assistance from Dell

    read this:

If you have a license to OEM preinstalled, DELL, HP, etc any update at the Board level or changes must be done jointly with the computer manufacturer

an OEM license is linked to the original tho hardware it is installed on this computer life

When the computer dies the license dies with him, unless the manufacturer is willing to help you

  • Changed the motherboard, Windows says to enter a NEW product key

    Hi all

I recently updated my computer and my mobo and CPU have been reversed.  Now when I connect it tells me that I have 3 days to enter a product key.

Where should I E-mail/call to get this resolved?

    Thanks for any help

You do not need a new key, you can use the same one you already have. If you have difficulties to activate Windows 7 open the Windows Activation Wizard in Windows 7 to use the phone and activate Windows:
    1. When you reach the desktop click Start, then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option, then dial the given number and hold for a real person.

  • Windows 7 copy authentic no - need to buy the new product key

I was given a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, who worked for a while. Now, he said that the product key is not authentic.

I know that I have to buy a new product key, but could I buy a version upgrade, or do I need the full version of rebuy? I also would be able to simply enter the product key for it, or I have to reinstall Windows 7?

I also have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007, which has been installed on the maximum number of computers. Then I must also buy another version of 2007 or he'll be fine once I have Windows 7 rebuy?

Where did you get your license of Windows 7?

    Hello

You will need to purchase a license/disk/upgrade Windows 7 product key.

Microsoft sells more Windows 7 and you would have to buy from Amazon, etc.

There was a free upgrade offer, but it expired a long time ago:

"The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 upgrade Option program works on June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option. »

  • Do I need a new product key I going from 32 bit to 64 bit?

I have the 32 bit windows 8 on my PC and bought a £50 product key. But I didn't know that my processor could take 64 bit OS.

So I was wondering do I need to buy a new product key if I change the same operating system to 64 bit instead of 32-bit?
I have both drives and I installed the 32 bit, thinking that it could have only 32 bits because it was vista 32. now I realize, there can be 64.

    64 bit 32 vs

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions

64-bit Windows 8 comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. 8 32-bit Windows can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system. 64-bit Windows 8 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64-bit Windows 8.

Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 8 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstaller.

If you need to upgrade to the 64-bit version, you will have to redo your installed 32-bit custom. You said that you ordered the backup DVD with your order, so you have 64-bit disk.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit. Launch the Windows Easy Transfer utility in Windows 7 and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean installation of 64-bit Windows 8 disc so you can stored there.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Once you have done this, just do a clean installation of 64-bit Windows 8 disc. In 64-bit Windows 8 disk, launch Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    Install the 64-bit version:

Boot from the DVD 64-bit of Windows 8
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
