  The issue could be due to the supplied product key does not match the press which is used to install Windows. The product key that is provided can be a file without assistance, in a. EI. CFG file, in the PID.txt file or in the BIOS firmware. Windows OEM 8 machines ship with the product key in the firmware, and if this product key does not match the press, then you will see the above error message.

  I suggest you to change the product key to the correct for the media you are trying to install. If the system has a product key in the motherboard (o. a. 3.0 [Activation OEM] provides an OEM product key in the firmware), you use an Unattend file, file (EI.cfg) edition Configuration or the product ID file (PID.txt).

  I'm trying to run a backup on a Windows SBS Server 2008 using Windows Server Backup to an external 2 TB USB hard drive - I chose the backup once and personalized with "activate System Recovery."

  This fails with an error message "the system cannot find the file specified" after having transferred about 28.23 GB of data.

  The Event Viewer error code: 2147942402

  I tried to run the backup to another device (a disk on a PC on a network) and it successfully without any problem which seems to me some kind of problem with the USB key.

  I came across these links: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979281 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972 - but the server I use does not have a USB Host Controller NVIDIA - instead, there "Intel(r) ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller" - so I'm hesitant to try this fix.

  I currently have problems to connect to Windows Update. I can't connect to the site at all and is the "this page cannot be displayed" whenever I try to open it.   Problem solved!

  Trojan:DOS / main Alureon.A in the MBR on the hard drive. Start into the recovery console and run FixMBR. It has detected the MBR was not correct and re-written the record. Windows Update now working as the MSE to date.

  I suggest to rerun the command chkdsk (check disk) and let us know if there are bad sectors found/fixed.

  Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  Also, make sure that the Volume Shadow Copy service is running.

  Follow the steps below:

  a. click Start.

  b. type Services in start search.

  (c) in the search for Services Windows shadow copy volume and the Windows backup from the list.

  d. right-click on the Service.

  e. click Properties.

  f. Select the Startup Type to Manual.

  g. click OK.

  h. now, repeat the same for the service Windows backup.

  4.0.1 lab Manager was a Mare of the night for me. I had the same exact SQL error:

  My VMware support ticket is: 1496998701. The fix for this support of VMware has been:

  (1) log on Lab Manager 4.0.0 and access rights and roles

  (2) for the role of the user, disable the right "Library Configuration: Clone of Workspace", then save the role.

  (3) for the view only role, uncheck the right ' Machine: use Console ", then save the role

  (4) you should now be able to upgrade Lab Manager 4.0.1 without received SQL error previously.

  After that they provided a fix for this, Lab Manager is unable to connect to vCenter with a time-out error. Did someone else to have a timeout like this error after a Lab Manager 4.0 to the 4.0.1 upgrade?
