Windows 2000 Picture It Photo worm [V6.0.829.0]

I had this program on a desktop computer. It crashed. I installed the program on my laptop and it won't let me save it.

The program works partially, but not entirely.   How can I register it so it will work?  "Cannot be saved at this time."

Microsoft Picture It! is not compatible with Windows 7.
You can try in compatibility mode, but it may not work properly.
If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
Use the following steps:
(1) right click on the program
2) click Properties
3) click on the Compatibility tab
(4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, you cannot run Windows XP mode, but you can try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com), or any other 3rd party software virtualization and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

I advise you to send your comments to the feedback of Windows7.

    Hi ayaphilomene,

    • What are the error messages that you receive?

I suggest you use another program to open the content on floppy disks and check if it helps.

If you only want to remove the images to floppies, the best solution would be to format floppy disks to remove the photos inside.

Make sure that you have the backup of the images to floppies before you proceed with the format.

    • Insert the diskette into the floppy drive.
    • Open my computer and then right click on the floppy drive and click Format.

I would like to be sure I can install my Microsoft Picture It Photo (copyright 1997-2001 version) on a new computer running Windows 7.

  • Windows 2000 Kodak Image Viewer

I used to have Windows 2000 Kodak Image Viewer on my old computer, but on my new computer, I have a newer version of Windows that apparently does not. What I need to download Windows 2000 in order to obtain new image viewer, or I can add it to my current version of Windows? I download pictures and images scanned in a long Word document, and photos must be converted in TIFF format and saved as 300 dpi (because when I finished this Word doc will be converted to PDF by the Publisher), and Image Viewer allowed me to do. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to download & install the freeware "Irfanview".  (IHMO one of the ten best freeware out there).  It will open just about any photo and then you can make a file-> save as and convert any other graphic formats including TIF.  Conversion to 300 dpi, if necessary, can be done through the Image-> resize menu option.  Works on all versions of Windows.

  • How to stop Windows 7 opening 'imported photos and videos' after each scan an image?

I'm scanning multiple images and after EACH scan, Win7 opens a new window "Imported pictures and videos", despite the window being open 20 times already...

In the import dialog box, deselection 'Open Windows Explorer after import' has no effect.  After each import, a Windows Explorer window appears showing me that the directory of the file has been imported to (i.e. "imported photos and videos").  Worse still, this happens even if another this window is already open - so if (for example), I scan 10 pictures, I have 10 windows explore open all showing this same directory (unless I close them I will).

It's boring, clutters the taskbar and takes expire have to close each window - how are we going to stop Win 7 "Imported photos and videos" opening after each scan?

    Hello Carl,

You attempted to change the option to "Open the Windows Explorer after import" while connected as another user on the computer to see if the problem persists?
Also, have you tried to scan using a different computer to see if we can isolate the problem to a machine?
If you have checked these things and the behavior has not changed, I suggest to leave feedback for the Windows team at this link as an option behaves as expected:
  • 8 screen saver Windows set to my photos but blank screen start

screen of Windows 8 on my photos but white screen saver starts even if I take it back photos that this white screen takes a long time (more than a minute sometimes stays on the white screen) 1 min before my departure from photos, and I want to get rid of this white screen. I love watching my collection of photographs, that this never happened with windows 7. I actually find windows 8 a great pain.

    Hello

I understand that the screen becomes black, before it turns into screen saver pictures. This could be due to the power settings.

I would ask you to follow the methods and check if these methods help you.

Method 1: troubleshooting to be able to run and check if this help.

    a. press Windows + W on the keyboard.

    b. type Troubleshooting in the "search" tab and press enter.

    c. click show all on the left panel.

    d. click Power, will new popup window.

    e. follow the instructions on the screen.

Method 2: change disable it to neverdisplay option.

    a. press Windows + W on the start screen.

    b. type Power.

    c. click change energy saving settings.

    d. check the options balanced (recommended).

    e. click on change Plan settings.

    f. change disable it in the to never display option drop down.

Please let us know if that helps. If you have questions related to Windows, please get back to us. We are here to help you.

  • How to filter uploaded duplicate pictures in "Photos".

How to filter uploaded duplicate pictures in "Photos" (in order to remove duplicates)...?

Usually, Photos should you cannot import duplicates. It will give a warning if you try to import an exact replica.  You are importing different versions of the same photos?

Photos has no tools to search for duplicates. You would need a third party program to analyze the library of Photos of duplicates.

    I can recommend these:

    • Pictures of power will detect duplicates, if the file attributes are the names of files, identical for example. See this link:

    https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powerphotos/

Independent detection of duplicates, it is a great tool to use in combination with pictures.

    • PhotosSweeper is very versatile for find duplicates in a different state of the edition or the size. It will detect cropped versions of the same photos, or reduced in size, as it will compare the photo, not only the attributes of the file: http://overmacs.com/photosweeper.html
