Windows 7 and Toshiba Tablet issues and Smart Board

some of our teachers who have Toshiba tablets can use their Smartobards (and yes they have the latest smart drivers) unless we remove all the pen settings except for "use my finger." Help, please!

  • Upgrade to Windows 7 and would like to know if all my tablet/pen functions still work?

Original title: Windows7 and Tablet PC

I have a Gateway Tablet PC.  He who is like a laptop, not these new without a keyboard.  For some reason, she has two model numbers: TA1.0 and M280E.  At the moment it has Windows XP (gateway) Tablet PC edition 2005 Version 2002 Service Pack 3 on it.  It has a processor Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz, 1,999 GB of RAM or processor if you look in the BIOS, 2048 MB of RAM.  I think it's the RAM Max will take this particular PC.  The processor is scalable?  I know that I have contributed to a maximum of one of my doors from the other monitor has collapsed on me one day and is unusable, so I think this is one.  The ugly manual, I downloaded did not about the Max RAM, a Fujitsu 37.2 GB HD and a CD - RW Optiarc.

Because Windows XP is longer supported, no. updates (although I find it odd that a pop-up saying updates are ready for your computer is fun) and for some reason it will run is more than some previous programs I ran over it, such as MSE and Windows Media Player 11, and I don't know I'll find others.

The important question is: I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and would like to know if all my tablet/pen functions still work, since it's the main reason I want to use?  And of course running WinXP is a safety hazard as well.

I use my ASUS X54C now and you want to reset to factory settings and reformat the HD, so I want a computer to use while I'm this, as well as using his pen to create a clip art image and also many other things.  Is there anything else I should know?

The first thing to do is to check the support web site of the gateway to see if there are drivers for devices on Windows 7 for your model. If there is no record of specific device in Windows 7 listed then you will not be able to run Windows 7 correctly, or it may not work at all.

Gateway driver support web site: http://us.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/drivers-downloads

Note: There is an "Auto Detect" option that can help you determine the right model you have.

M280 using as a guide I tried to see what is available and found only XP / Vista and Windows 2000 drivers, so you may be out of luck, but try to auto detect and see if you have Windows 7 drivers listed.

He went to my screen which showed a background image of hello kitty that I placed there connection. But once you ID and waiting for my computer fully load the bottom black screen that must be an image, my startup toolbar looks like windows 95, all my documents does not appear when you click documents early upward (images, word, etc.), when you click on the download folder it gives me an error saying that I need a program , it shows that all my documents (images words, downloads, etc.) when I click on the name of my computer in the start menu up, which is strange, my computer mouse can be an animated hello kitty but now its back to normal, I lost all my favorites and I must now re-implementation to date of what was updated. Anyone have any ideas on how to help me with this? Or is it a new update of all HP computers have? I have a Windows 7 Home Premium HP.

    Thank you!

P.S. When I say my computer it looks like Windows 95, I mean, fonts, and everything changed. The only thing that miss me is the challenge of chips and chimera, then it wouldn't be so bad lol.

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

  • Anyone know of any compatibility issues with Windows 8 and RV series routers?

I have a small network with a laptop computer, Windows 8, Windows XP desktop computer and a network MyBookLiveDuo storage device. I have sharing enabled between these devices. Everything worked well on a network switch. I replaced the switch with the RV110W VPN Firewall Router to add better security to my network before I have expand it. Since then, I have a laptop Windows 8 intermittent connectivity while the connectivity of the XP desktop computer shows no problem.

On the laptop Windows 8 I ran network troubleshooting, and he complained that two devices on the network are (NAT) network address translation and the symptoms he describes is what I see. Problem is that I don't have a network Analyzer to look at the network in more depth. I looked online for the RV110W documentation and if NAT is listed as one of the characteristics, there is no discussion in the documentation on how to manage this feature in the router.

I can connect to the Windows 8 laptop from Office XP and access shared content. I can connect to the Duo since Office XP without difficulty. However, except when they reappear periodically under the heading of my network in Explorer on the laptop Windows 8, I can't access the Office XP or the Duo of the laptop Windows 8. Curiously, however, I have a part of the Duo mapped as a network drive on the laptop Windows 8 and I can access it even when everything else has gone. Also, the interface of management for the Duo appears on the laptop Windows 8 and I can access the Duo to manage. Only, I can't access the shares on the Duo. Then all of a sudden they reappear under network in the file Explorer and I can then access. I think it must have to do with NAT, but I can't find anything out about it.

If it's something I can turn on the router long enough to see if the problem goes away I would like to try, but I can't find it in the documentation, and I can't find it when I look aroiund in the management interface.

The fact that I am not having the form of the XP desktop computer problem makes me think that a compatibility issue with Windows 8. Does anyone know if Windows 8 did anything with NAT? I try to get help from Microsoft Technical Support, but their level 1 tech told me to call Tech Support Pro when they open later this morning. Support cat Cisco won't open until Monday at 09:00.

Also, throughout this connection problem Internet from the laptop through the router is never interrupted. It's strictly connectivity with other devices on the internal network that comes and goes.

    Hi Gregg,

NAT must not play unless your applications on the internet. The "port Internet" or "WAN port" is a NAT port that converts your public IP address from ISP to your LAN subnet addresses. NAT allows multiple computers on a network to use 1 public IP address.

If your devices are connected to the Ether "LAN ports" they are not affected by NAT unless they are Web applications. 4 'LAN ports"are 2 layer switch ports. This means that all local requests are forwarded by the switch ports.

This device did replace exactly? The XP computers, DUET and window 8, make these products using the static IP address or you allow the RV110 to assign an IP address automatically? What IP address you are using on the LAN of the RV110?

Compatibility Center (for the compatibility of the device)?

Check with the system and peripheral manufacturers for updated drivers and many have special

Vista references apply to Windows 7.

You probably need to reload the drivers of the device and the camera'IF' control software
    There is for Windows 7.

    Login as an administrator.

Control Panel - Device Manager - Imaging - write down of the brand and the model of camera - double
Click on it and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who cannot do anything

REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver of the camera and other partners
the camera software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If there are no Windows 7 drivers:

Exhausted all other methods in the Troubleshoot utility above before trying these.

Logon as ADMINISTRATOR for all of them.

You can try Compatibility Mode but this rarely works on the device drivers.

Right click on the driver executable (.exe) file - select Compatibility Mode

In the drop-down menu choose XP or Vista and Service Pack (if it is the version
    "you try the drivers).

Click OK, and then let the race to see if it will install.

It also rarely works on the device drivers but it is worth trying:

CD \the path to this folder as C:\User\Your user Name\Camera_Folder or something else
the path is the folder where the driver is unpacked.

So in this case it would be \User\Your User Name\Camera_Folder CD and the prompt
    look like:

    CD \User\Your user Name\Camera_Folder >

This in type at the prompt and press ENTER.

    -I - one *.inf PnPUtil

It will take a little time to respond.

If it does not (error) use the full path to the driver, for example (which can be used

  • re Windows 8 and Aol 9.7 compatibility issue

Preiously, I installed and used AOL on this new ASUS desktop computer (do not remember what version and have now uninstalled) with Windows 8, but has recently gotten error box: aolsoftware.exe - bad image.  Text says: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\samdi.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.  Try to reinstall...   0xc0000020 error code.

I uninstalled the previous version and downloaded AOL 9.7 as it is supposed to be compatible with Windows 8.  Have downloaded OK but at the start of the installation I got above message again.  Then he started to install, but VERY slowly (about 30 minutes).  Finally stopped at 99% and a box came up saying there is a compatibility issue and I should try to get help online.  Microsoft could not fix the problem, and I found myself on this forum.  Is there a better version of AOL on Windows 8, and if yes what is it?  Any notice received with gratitude.

    First do a clean boot:

Remove all AOL files to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x 86)

    Temporarily disable your Antivirus

You have a question? AA6 is not fully compatible with Win7, probably not at all to a 64-bit system. The recommendation is to buy AAXI. If you manage to install AA6 on Win7, you can optionally change the port of the Adobe PDF printer to FILE and then print to file. It is a PS file and will then be run through Distiller to obtain a PDF file. This may or may not work for you. I've experimented with AA5 and managed in this way for a Win7 32-bit system. Not a great solution, but it may meet your need.

Please, help me to boost the performance of my system. I don't want to go back to Windows XP.

The problem may be because my M/B does not support Windows Vista and higher?

The processor and the graphcis card are old and not the fastest.

Buy a new basic system of AMD (Athlon II X 2/X 3, at least 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, a mainbaord with AMD 880 G chipset (integrated graphics card), you can use the old HARD disc), it is not too expensive, but gives you a boost huge performance.
