Windows 7 - can I click on a folder name in the navigation pane to see the subfolders without having to click on the triangle?
Under XP, I could click on the name of the folder in the folders pane and it would show all subfolders. I found that it is a very easy way to navigate. In Windows 7, I click on the triangle next to the folder name. The triangle is small enough, so I wish I could just click on the name of the folder.
Double-click the folder.

In windows mode 8, using Hotmail app, I don't have the opportunity to make a new folder to save an attached file in an email.
Hi Lince,
Please answer this question to get more clarity on this issue.
-You talk to the Mail app?
If you are referring to the Mail application, then by saving an attachment of an e-mail can be done in a folder on the computer. So, if you want to create a new folder to save the file attachment, you must create it before you download the attachment of the e-mail.

How can I get rid of this? I don't see any option in the preferences to disable this option. I also disabled preferences in Windows > Control Panel Options folder option "show the full path in the title bar.
I have Lightroom on multiple computers and have set up preferences the same on each workstation, and it appears on a workstation.

Windows 8 does not display Chinese file / folder names correctly
I just bought a Lenono IdeaPad Yoga 13, with Windows 8 installed.
I added Chinese (Simplified) language and also downloaded the Chinese fonts. I can view and write Chinese in e-mails and word files, etc. However, the folder names and file names, if in Chinese, do not display correctly. (only display boxes of square / rectangular). I have read some threads in the forum, but could not find answers that seem to work for me.Help!?Hi Manu:
Thanks for your quick response. But before I could try your suggestions, last night when I turned on my laptop, the computer setting has changed in Chinese. Any control selections, e.g. under the charms, such as settings, Control Panel,... everything is displayed in Chinese. While this works for me, since I can read Chinese and English, it feels weird, because I'm in the United States, and my everyday language is English.I don't know how it happened and how to revert to English. I change not all parameters before (except Chinese addition as 2nd choice of language). When I check the language and region settings, my position is still US showing (as current residence). English is always my first choice of language. The language of choice of the non-unicode program was "English". I changed it in Chinese (Simplified) as you suggest.Help? -
There is none
When I go to the images and select views and select Extra Large icons, I can see the images above the file name. Frankly, I don't know how to avoid having the picture show, even though I never wanted that. He has no control, I know to show representations of just generic file or show pictures showing images being the default value. Maybe something is happening with your system. If this does not work, after return and we will try to solve the problem.

How can I sort my files by name, but the content by date?
I am on Windows 7 and trying to sort my files in the order of name and the contents of each folder in date order, but if I change IT automatically changes them both? How to do this?
You can not in Vista - that option is not available. The following items can help you with the setting folder models and change the sort order to some degree Vista allows:
Here's how to change the default template for a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html. Default behavior is to select the model based on the first type of file placed in the folder (you must choose something). Vista sets the folder type template according to what are the types of files in the window and the settings display window Explorer. This will show you how to reset the Windows Explorer folder view settings, disable Automatic folder Type discovery and increase the view of the folder cache to have Vista don't forget display settings, model of file type, size, or position of a specific window for when it was still closed to the location of specific path.
It does not work with the Sub record under, Open with, open in a new tab (Internet Explorer), etc... dialog windows of type through the good File menu bar item. These don't seem to be able to have their size or their position to recall. For the latter, you can use the free program http://autosizer.en.softonic.com/ to resize them.
Here is another article on how to modify the columns in Windows Explorer and sort in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/108665-column-customize.html. This will show you how Add, Remove, move, change the widthand change the sort order of the columns in Windows Explorer in the way that you want.
Here is another article on how to change the display of the default folders in Vista (but she argues, it is not a perfect solution and can revert to the previous behavior is not as good as the two prior links provided: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13880_3-10019957-68.html.)
I hope this helps in your situation.

I have a folder zipped on my computer which has 2.84 MB of data in it. I can access the folder and check the properties of it using windows Explorer. But when I try to open the file, I get the message "windows cannot open the folder. "The compressed (zipped) folder [the name of the location and file names] is not valid. Why this file is not valid. The name and the location is OK? Why I can't access this folder? I tried the extrace all files option and tap of properties has the file open by windows Explorer (which opens at all other files zipped, I downloaded).
Hi Bill,
Thanks for choosing Windows Vista Forums.
Have you tried re - download the file and open it?
The file may not have been packed correctly so, make sure that you re - compress the file and open.
Let us know how it works.

I got a new computer w/Windows 7, but Set - up guy was working on 2 computers and put the wrong name in this machine slot 'username '. All seeking answers to correct (my machine automatically books with my ADMIN correct name but doesn't let me change an incorrect name in the USER file), I came across this on VISTA. It also applies to Windows 7?
"What you see is the reference in the"C:\Users\user name"folder. While you can change the registered owner and the name of the user account, you cannot change the name of the folder 'C:\Users\user name'. The only way to do this is to create a new admin account and delete the one in a new. »
If the solution IS identical to that of Vista, the instructions on the following link apply?
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/93026-user-account-delete.htmlYes, the solution is identical to that of Vista, and apply the instructions at this link.
Create a new account with the correct name and delete the old account. If you wish, save the old account during erasing files and copy them into the new account.

Add the folder names in the path of the image as keywords separated from image metadata
Hi all, I tried to find a solution online and customize the amazing Paul Riggott script, but I'm not able to make it work the way I need.
I have my customer images organized in the structure of folders and subfolders. For all images (thousands of files in the subfolders a lot) I need a script for Adobe Bridge to take all the way from the image, separated from individual files paths file and store these records in the form of keywords separated in the metadata of the image.
For example, I have the image.jpg/Work/Job01/share/Photos and image B.jpg file in the folder/Work/Job02/PartB/Photos. After I run the script from Adobe Bridge on file/work, I want to have for the two added images keywords
Size: Work; Job01; Share; Photos
Notice: Work; Job02; PartB; Photos
As 'Work' and 'Pictures' folders are usually present, it would be nice to have the opportunity to put these two exact strings in script and exclude keywords added, but it is not necessary :-)
The bellows of script adds one keyword ~photos/Work/Job01/share/Photos, for what is necessary is to divide and make key words separated substrings. This would allow me to move pictures anywhere and still be able to filter as a group structure (as number of employment, or part name).
Please, could someone show me how to update this script? Or is there another solution that I just haven't found yet?
Thank you, Petr

Windows 7 Home premium cannot make a folder to all the
The new folder button does not work. If you right click, or the other, there is no new folder option. In addition, I run a full scan using the command prompt sfc scannow without results of files damaged or beyond repair. Have also been put into registry and re-entered the required information (it has never been absent, but well, you don't know sometimes) and which has proved fruitless so. Before reinstalling the entire Windows 7, I am at a loss. I used a repair of the registry RegClean Pro, but that was AFTER the problem surfaced. Any help would be appreciated now it went beyond the absurd in intolerable.
