  • I can't install the update for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330). I get error code 800F081F & dt000.

I tried to solve this problem, almost every day since the 01/08/2012 a period of 3 to 7 hrs @ a time, following troubleshooting instructions everything including the fix It Center without success. I even tried to do it manually.  I need a disk to achieve? Please give me detailed instructions thoroughly. Is this a common problem with Windows Vista.

    What are error codes: 800F081F & dt000

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

2 is the issue specific to this update?

    3. are you able to install other updates successfully?

    4. What is the brand and model of the computer?

5 all the troubleshooting steps you have done?

Try these steps and let me know the status.

    Method 1.

I suggest you follow the steps in this article.

Problems with the installation of the updates: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates

    Method 2.

Clean boot : Try to set up your computer in a clean boot state and check if you are able to install the update. Tuning your system to start in mode minimum state helps to identify third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Disable Firewall: turn enable or disable Windows Firewall: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    Note:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must activate it as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3.

Learn how to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Learn-how-to-install-Windows-Vista-Service-Pack-1-SP1

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate. The virus scanner is provided so that the computer is virus-free before you start to install the updates.

    Method 4.

The system update tool scans inconsistencies in the computer where it is installed. It usually takes less than 15 minutes to run the scan. However, the tool might take much longer on some computers. Although the progress bar seems to stop, the analysis is still running and you should not cancel the update.

The system tool that corrects problems with Windows Update is available for Windows 7, Windows Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

  • Windows 7 will not install the driver for hp deskjet 6540

I followed all the instructions on the site of HP and windows will not find and install the driver for my HP 6540. How to make Windows do what should or is there a reliable place to download the driver from?

There is a driver recommended relatively complete for the Deskjet 6540 written by HP and Microsoft via Windows Update.  If the automatic install does not work, perform the following steps: connect the printer by USB.  Click Start, devices and printers, adding a printer, select the appropriate port and when the list of printers, click Windows Update in the lower right part of the dialog box.  It will take a few minutes for the update to complete, once that he choose the Deskjet HP (Hewlett-Packard no) 6500 Series.

If for some reason you can't use the driver provided through Windows Update, you can download the driver from the Windows Catalog site.  The Windows Catalog site requires the use of Internet Explorer.  For the Dsekjet 6500 Series there are three drivers listed.  11.4 Mo is the x 86 32-bit driver.  11.6 Mb file is x 64 64 bit version.  13.9 MB file is the least common architecture IA64.
