  I am struggling with this for hours...
  I installed windows xp on this old laptop, Satellite 1800 PS181C, and I can't get the drivers to work for ethernet can work

  It worked fine when I had windows 2000 on it, but as the OS crashes constantly, so I opted for XP instead.

  In Device Manager, it lists the network adapter under 'hidden features' for a reason, it is called "Intel 8255 x-based Fast Ethernet.
  It is said there is a driver installed for it, but when I try to create a new internet connection, it tells me that no adapters are installed!

  I tried the site LAN driver, the last that appears is for windows 2000, I tried anyway according to the installation instructions, didn't work at all

  I watched the driver on the Intel Web site, she me tied to a PROWin32.exe file, I tried to install, it says I have no card compatible?

  This leads me into the wall. There must be a way to make this work.

  What WXP version do you have installed (service pack)?
  Have you consulted the Toshiba download page? This model is supported for Windows XP Home edition?

  I installed a WPC54G v2 adapter in a laptop running windows 98. I connected to work at a WPA network without problem. I came home and I tried to connect to the network, but you can't get an ip address.

  I know that the network has a WEP 64-bit password (I connected fine from another computer so I know that I have the right password). I compared the WEP key that the linksys client uses with the key in my router settings and they match. I can see the MAC address of the laptop as wireless to my router and linksys customer relationships it is connected to the router, but cannot connect to the internet.

  I tried assigning a manual ip address and using the automatic ip address with no luck. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

  I think that I may have been too far from the access point to connect. I tried again today from another place and I am now connected. Thanks for the suggestions.

  Connect the USB cable to your PC and to ignore auto-detection.

  Enter the control panel > printers

  Click on the bar of tools add printer, and then select a local printer.

  Select the listed USB port (e.g., USB001 or DOT4 USB) and click Next

  Below is the list of printers, click on 'disk '.

  Enter the location of the extracted folder, then click Browse and select the file hpc300xc.

  Now, click Open and then OK

  If you see several models of printers, select the correct one and click OK until the end of the wizard.

• Reinstalled Windows and can not get the video past standard vga

  I had to reformat my hard drive on my Studio 1749 and reinstall it from the disk operating system (which seems to have only the standard drivers on that).  Then, I went to the page of Support for drivers and installed the wireless lan driver and video driver.  But when I try to adjust the screen resolution, the only option for display is generic pnp monitor on standard vga adapter.  How can I get that back at the higher resolution and it supports?

  First thing to do is determine whether you have an Intel or ATI video (BIOS - F2 at startup screen - will tell you).

  Make sure that you have installed the Dell system software

  Sorry, had the wrong impression that you use a connection network caused the question sympthoms.

  Please make sure that the printer, USB is directly connected to your Mac and no more than 2 - 3 m long without using a USB hub or extension. It can cause serious communication problems. Please also plug the USB key into a different USB port on your Mac.

  If you have an iMac, also be sure to plug the USB key into a port on the back of the printer and not on the keyboard (like the keyboard ports are not powered and actually provide the same power as the use of a hub)

  On the Mac, click the Apple menu.

  While holding the ALT key, click System Profiler from the menu.

  In the left pane, click USB

  You see the printer listed in the right pane?

  If the printer is not listed under USB, this means that the unable to communicate with him without any problem of Mac software, so I would recomment USB cable it to try another.

  If the printer detected as expected, please let me know.

  You need not fingerprint software from Lenovo. It's just another program that is running in the background.

  Windows 7 has all the functions that the software Lenovo offers. Whether you use it or not, it's up to you.

  in any case, to get the fingerprint logon to work, you must go into control panel > biometrics. Then you need to check "Allow connections to fingerprints" (or something of the sort). It will ask you to register to use fingers.

  The next time you start your computer/log, you will be asked to use your fingerprint to log. It works exactly as it would if the Lenovo program was there (with the sole exception of the sliding-finger-to-boot-computer functionality).

  You should be able to make the device recovery disks that it will make Windows Vista. Look under programs for a Recovery Manager.

All I have with the CV is the operating system, Documentation CD and CD of Diagnostics and restore hp more cd. I put restore plus CD first, then reloaded the operating system. I don't think that all drivers have been downloaded because I can not connect to internet. Any help with this?
