Windows 7 crashes on updates

Yes, I know, it is a fairly common problem, but it's still not working for me.  I know that this message will be probably "attached" to a different thread, but there are many of them, I have no idea of one who even try and look for more help.

I clean installed Windows 7 Home Premium yesterday.  Windows Update crashes just there, never give me anything.  , it says 'most recent audit of the updates; and 'updates have been installed' to 'never '.

I tried to use the FixIt.

I tried close wuauserv and bits cryptsrv, rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and catroot2, then by restarting, no change.  I even put the service manual in order to let the program start them himself.

I tried to download the standalone version.  It crashes too.

About the only good news I have is that my CPU usage remained systematically lower than 15%, so I won't have that problem.

Thanks in advance.

You can now restart your computer.

The start-up files [the operating system currently in use - 14.04.1 LTS Ubuntu] are far from the beginning of the disc. Your BIOS can't detect them. You can try again after you create a partition/Boot (EXT4, > 200 MB, beginning of the disc). This can be done via tools such as gParted. Then select this partition via the [separate/boot partition:] [Boot Repair] option. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootPartition)

  • Windows 7 crashes after update

I have the same problem - safe mode, no problem, clean boot won't give you help - I've been down this road - which seems to be a problem with the latest MS updates - you'll probably also suffer a loss of USB ports, once the unit occupying the port is disconnected.

I had the same problem on two 2 identical machines (HP Pavilion dv7, i7, W7 Home premium, 6 GB RAM, 640 GB HD, nvidia geforce)-the problem was so annoying, especially the problem USB, I reinstalled the operating system and all programs to meet the problem again.

I returned the machine and switched again to the same machine - and now the same problems.

It is a problem of MS - boot will not tell you anything - have to wait for the Member States to be aware of the problem and issue a patch.

    Mike,

Thanks for the effort, but I've given up hope on this issue, because it keeps getting worse - I sent the laptop (second identical) return and will try something different for my computing needs.

This happened only since I did the upgrade to Windows 8, I did online. My laptop previously had Windows 7 64 bit on it and it worked fine.

The first two methods are used when the system does not boot to Windows (Boot (No questions)

Boot process Windows 8 became so fast that if you delay pressing SHIFT + F8 in less than a second so you will miss. If the advanced boot options do not come up on the first attempt, please try several times.

  • Windows XP crashes all streaming video

    original title: Windows XP crashes

I use Windows XP and it crashes everytime I try streaming of youtube videos. What causes this and how can I solve this problem? Thank you.

By crashing, do you mean you see a blue screen of death (BSOD)?

If so, then proceed as follows:

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.
Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Now, we should start by getting more information about your system and take a look at the situation of your video driver, and see what you have now.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Please provide additional information on your system:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all.
Copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

While you wait, I could do this:

No matter what you use for protection against malware, perform the following analyses for malware, then correct any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

    Windows XP service Pack 3

If you have SP3 installed, you also installed KB938828.

You can read here all the things that are included when you install SP3 (including this update), so you shouldn't have to install again.

If you get the DEP errors, I suspect a third party extension of the Explorer.  If someone offers you make an exception to DEP for Explorer, this is the wrong idea.

DEP errors occur when XP shuts down an application because she feels threatened by the latter.  XP should never feel threatened by his own substance - like Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer.  If XP gives you an error DEP of one of these applications, something is wrong with them and the best thing to do is to understand what the problem is and fix it (or I guess you can just start to try things and maybe get lucky).

Also, we are not a 'thing' on your system, what makes blind troubleshooting especially a roll of the dice.

But, let's see how you go with this idea of clean boot and optimization of the Microsoft Support Engineer and you can check if this may help.

Media Center crashes since update k2502898 has been cancelled during an automatic update. The cancellation took place on 03/10/2011. Since that time MC opens, then when I click on TV > Live it hangs or does not detect the tuner. Other times it opens, but after a few minutes I can't change channels or use Rarely MC. It works OK.
