Windows 7 does not detect speakers or headphones
Hi, I have a desktop PC, which now has problems connecting to my speakers. It shows a red 'X' as shown below.
I have tested it with another computer and it worked and the speakers and speakers used to work all the time.
I also had headset that is no longer working on this computer, in fact, nothing works.
I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled driver and also checked if it was plugged in properly, still does not work.
I recently spent on graphics cards in it, but I'm sure that graphics are not relevant.
No, you will not have a new sound card.

Hi, any help much appreciated on this. Windows 7 does not detect USB flash drives on my laptop. I know that readers of work on other computers and all the USB ports. He does not play sound when plugged in the first time and does not anywhere on my computer. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Assuming that you have several disks that work on other computers...
If you have tried several USB drives on the same port
This port does not recognize the USB device plugged in, while the port is not operational.
All ports respond in the same way
You don't have either not installed the correct drivers
OR they did not physically.
I recently bought a HP Pavilion laptop to 7 Home Premium. I have two 500 GB external hard drives. When I connect them individually to the system, they are recognized and I can copy files to and from these External Drives. But when I try to connect both at the same time, Windows 7 does not detect the drive I connect then. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If the disks are powered by the USB bus and do not have their own external power supply the problem is that the laptop does not provide sufficient USB power to control both.
The USB specification, is that each port should provide 500mA at 5V. To keep their batteries, laptops usually provide 500mA to share between all available ports. If you need to use several USB devices with significant power, you must either externally powered USB hub or to provide the devices with their own power supply to cutting.
Windows 7 does not detect a PnP (Samsung 2220wm) monitor when the monitor is connected through a KVM switch. Therefore, I can't set the correct screen resolution. The monitor is correctly detected when connected directly to the pc.
This just started recently. Before that the monitor has been correctly detected, even through the KVM switch.
Nothing installed that I remember. I'll contact Samsung - there have been similar problems with their monitors.
I do update windows via the control panel and its been so many updates, but it does not detect any service packs.
Anyone know what I can do to solve the problem?
My computer is a compaq presario with vista home premium.
Download SP1 or SP2 from the links below:
And then perform a clean boot and disable the antivirus, and then restart the computer.
Install the service pack, and then restart the computer.
Problem of Windows updates should get fixed after you install the service packs.
All the best!
My PC is running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

(1) have you made changes before the start of this issue?
(2) using the card reader?
Method 1: Why does my computer detect my new USB device when I am running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003?

Windows XP Professional X 64 Edition Version 2003 is installed on my server. It does not detect the printer HP Laser Jet P1102, it needs of Virtual Port USB 001. When I connect my printer, Windows does not detect the printer. I lost the CD for the printer. When I try to install the printer with drivers downloaded HP, it gets sleep showing message "Connect your USB cable" when it is already connected.
Also when I try to connect to the printer on my workstation, Windows XP Professional 32-bit Edition, it must be connected, but off, the sharing is lost with other workstations, even if I set the static IP for all.

I recently installed Windows XP Professional on my new iMac via bootcamp. While Windows itself works fine, it won't connect to internet at all. Despite being connected to a modem ADSL via a Ethernet cable, and also have wireless internet, Windows does not detect any signal. On the internet in the Control Panel, all connections page that appears is "1394 connection" under the heading "LAN or Internet high speed." I tried several times to put in place a new internet connection through the Setup Wizard and everytime, no internet is detected.
I know that the modem works because all the other computers in my house are fine online, including on the side of Mac of the iMac. If anyone has an idea as to how I should resolve this problem, your help would be greatly appreciated!
Moreover, these are things I've already tried:
I've tried to manually and automatically set up an internet connection
I spoke with my ISP, the modem works fine
I have re-partitioned the hard drive and reinstalled XP
The "1394 connection" is the IEEE 1394 (FireWire) from your computer. There should be cable system and under the heading wireless connections "LAN or Internet high speed." There is no need to run the Network Setup Wizard or set up a new connection.
Open the Device Manager (Start > run > devmgmt.msc ) and go to the network adapters section. You may need to install the drivers for them.
I have a few problems on my laptop [Acer 3810 t]
-The first problem
My mobile give me screen "cannot start windows' who have 2 choices: run the Startup Repair tool and boot normally. I chose to fix it, but nothing happens and stuck "starting windows" and gives unmountable boot volume 'blue screen '. the Dungeon of blues screen appear (for laptop is a not restart). So I turned off my phone and turn it back on it. the "could not start" screen again and I chose to start normally. but the result is negative. My portable Dungeon cannot start windows. Because of that I am using the advanced boot option and choose all the boot type such asit cannot load the safemode, last configuration etc, but the result is the same, you cannot start windows. in safe mode, its stuck in loading fileinfo.sys. I do not give up to try again with the advanced boot option. until I have a bad situation. My laptop can only 1 file in safe mode and blues screen do not appear again (my laptop only return at the beginning of start or restart)
-The second problem
because it cant solved, I want to reinstall my laptop. My OS is Vista 32 bit (pre-installed). I want to install the new operating system, windows 7. I use Dsik Flash bootable USB to install Windows 7. But in the BIOS, it is detected as a USB HDD. So I set my BIOS to load USB HDD to the first order. the installation can be done, but only until the "start Setup" screen and its deadlock. I have it wait up to an hour, but nothing happens. So I'm going to BIOS, change SATA mode to IDE mode AHCI. Then load the USB and go "installation program start screen. but the new problem is the installation of window does not detect my hard drive. So I can not choose the place to install the operating system. I have to load the driver, but I did not. Again to load the configuration to AHCI and IDE, until I get my HDD can detected in IDE mode. So I think I can move easily, I choose custom installation and choose the hard drive to install the operating system. But unfortunately, at the beginning of the process, after choosing the OS, the Installer gives error if installation location the installation failed. (I forgot the error message)
-The third problem
So far, I can't spend 'startup begins' as well in mode IDE and AHCI. Also bootmgr in my hard disk is missing, so I can't go to move the startup repair or the startup option in my HDD as before
What is the error code that you got with blue screen?
I think that there is a problem with your drive HARD check that by contacting acer...
Hi I have a huge dilemma! My laptop does not recognize the external monitor. Earlier in the day, he detected the external monitor and perfectly well worked through to extend, in doubles, you name it. However, after restarting my computer, I was unable to get the external display to be recognized...
I use a laptop Lenovo y470 and nvidia gt 550 m 64-bit. I've updated the grahpics card but in vain...
The way I have it plugged into the external monitor is using a hdmi cable to connect the laptop to a monitor for a DVI-HDMI adapter. Basically, the dvi port became a port hdmi with this adapter. its dvi - d.
I think that restarting the computer developed a few updates and the graphics card only connects via VGA or HDMI and DVI not? I'm not sure... I'd love any idea of a solution.
If you do not see an option named multiple displays in your display settings, then Windows isn't detecting a second monitor plugged into your desktop computer. Or else, it does not detect an external monitor plugged into your laptop. When Windows detects this monitor, it will appear in the drop-down list next to the screen. If you do not see that what listed there, try click on Detect.
Make sure that the monitor you want to extend your desktop is turned on and plugged the correct video port on your computer. You may also need to select the correct source labeled on the controls of your monitor to ensure that the monitor is using the correct video port. For more information, consult the manual of your monitor or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

I suggest you to check the history of update for the recently installed updates.

I suggest that you try to do a system restore and check whether the problem is resolved.

Hi, on windows 7, xp (virtual), the system mode does not detect my graphics (ATI Radeon HD4530). This card is indispensable to run a business application (multimedia program). Can you please help me.
Thank you, Christian.

Windows XP mode provides a virtual hardware platform to run XP programs. With the exception of some USB devices, it does not provide a direct access to the hardware on the host computer.
If you need to use your real graphics hardware in XP you will probably have to put in place a system to dual-boot and boot XP when necessary.
Recently, I bought my used console. My laptop's overview of Windows 8 consumers. Although I didn't have the Media Center option, my Xbox could detect and stream my music, videos and photos from my PC. I've recently returned to Windows 7because the license of Windows 8 has been set to expire January 15. Now, for some reason unknown, my Xbox does not detect my PC or my PC detects my Xbox as an Extender in Media center. I tried everything I could think of and the instructions I found on the Xbox site, nothing done. Before I posted this, I also tried things left to people with similar problems in the answers in this forum. I tried manually assign the IP addresses of my two Xbox and PC, disabling my Windows and the firewall of the router, restart Windows Media Player sharing service, allowing the streaming on my Xbox which appeared in my streaming options, disconnect and reconnect my Xbox and PC on my network of countless times and shout and scream about the whole situation.
I tried not to open the ports because that I have disabled any firewall that I don't see. I have McAfee installed, but my subscription has expired so I uninstalled. I am at a loss for what to do because I tried everything I read and thought. We have 4 PC in our House and everyone but mine my console can detect and disseminate. Three of the four run Windows 7 Home Premium x 64, the 4th with Vista 32 bit. All the computers are on the same network and all. I tried ping my Xbox to my PC and it timed out every time, but my PC does not detect it in a way because it shows in my options on my PC for streaming media. There must be something with my PC and Windows 7 only because like I said before, everything has worked at the time where it ran Windows 8. Anyone can end this madness?
Never mind. I thought about it. I restarted the SSDP Discovery service that restarted the services necessary to make this work.
