Windows 7 Explorer to random crashing c0000005

Hello

been troubleshooting and goggling this and without other options, clean boot, a video driver updated and windows disabled DEP on IE, outlook and excel (only apps open when its been happening, still explore continues to plant several times a day.) I applied the reg mod to get the crash dumps, but not too big to analyze yet, if someone can take a look? I do not have access to onedrive so I downloaded on google reader:

https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B5OAXyfBfJkRaDdvRmxPZ0FwVnZGNUpBT1FrMWhNbkxHbGJz/edit?USP=docslist_api

32-bit Win7, no new applications or right click context menu additions (or hacking) or patches recently since it began

    Thank you
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,.

Remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

Possible cause would be due to out-of-date video drivers, corrupted system files, viruses or malware, faulty RAM, infection etc..

I suggest you follow these methods and check:

    Method 1: Run the hotfix:
Windows Explorer crashes randomly in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2638018/en-us

Method 2: Follow the suggestions in this article:
    Explorer Windows stopped working

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911/en-us

Virus scan: while the Virus scan, data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Clean boot: after a repair, be sure to put the computer to a normal startup mode.

Update on site: note this upgrade on the spot takes the same amount of time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

Follow the steps and let us know if this helps.  If the problem persists, please answer and we will be happy to help you.

For some reason a dump is not created when WMC crashes...

    Any help would be appreciated!

    -Devin

According to the dump file seems to be the cause of the accident:

    Cannot load C:\Program Files\Shark007\filters\DivXThumbnailProvider.dll, 0n2 error Win32 image

The DivXThumbnailProvider.dll seems to be a component of DivX Plus Media Foundation and, in your case, seems to be a part of the Win7codecs software.

Then you can try what is suggested in the following link:

    http://Shark007.NET/forum/thread-crashed-Windows-Explorer-in-some-folder-s?highlight=Explorer

    Or uninstall the Win7codecs program.

  • Pavilion dv6-4024tx: display random crashing after upgrade to Windows 10 (back to Windows 7)

    Hey all,.

I used to own a computer laptop dv6-4024tx Pavilion which I gave to my father to use after you have bought a new laptop for my part. It was in pretty good condition when I gave it to him, with the only problem being that she would get very hot unless a cooling pad was used (which I it comes with). At the time, it was running Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems and everything was fine. However, it might be interesting to note that while I had it I had problems with random blue screens while I was with the latest graphics drivers, so I drove back to the drivers supplied on the support page for this laptop. After I "upgraded" to Windows 10 (do not perform a clean install) for my dad, the laptop would randomly crash and display something like the photo that I have attached, before going empty and show again several times. Believing that it would be a problem with the GPU, I went and Display Driver Uninstaller to remove completely all AMD drivers and software, downloaded the latest driver on the AMD website and installed. It seemed to temporarily solve the problem, but as it's always within 30 days of installation, I offered to go back to Windows 7, but my father wanted to leave it and see how it happened. Oddly enough, for the next month, it never reported the laptop crashing again and the time period for return finally expired. The problem of course back then I tried the same solution from before but the noise continued. I tried to disable the GPU completely from the Device Manager, so that the laptop was running with Microsoft Basic display adapter. He seems to have stopped the fracas, but less than a week my father told me that he had crashed again.  I tried to restore the laptop to a system image I had done years ago, but I learned that you cannot restore an image to a different version of Windows System. Finally, as a last resort I backed everything up and made a real clean install of Windows 10, and the problem has not yet disappear.

My goal now is to return the Windows 7 laptop somehow. I can mount a virtual image of the system hard drive and access all the recovery files provided by HP, specifically the Recovery Manager. From there, I can do a recovery USB or DVD (s) we hope to restore the laptop to all conditions of factory (so theoretically return to Windows 7). I will try this, but I need a flash player more than 20 GB or several blank DVDs I don't currently. In addition, Recovery Manager says that this medium can never be created once, so it save me time and money (not to mention my last lifeline) if someone could please share their views on the question of whether this method would be successful or not. I know in case it doesn't work, there is always the question of registration of the OS by Microsoft, but I can cross that bridge when I get to it.

Sorry for the essay I just wrote, but this has been a problem for too long, and I am at a loss to know what to do now (apart from the purchase of another computer). If there are any questions I'll be happy to answer, and I hope we can get this issue is resolved. See you soon.

If you follow this step 3.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/675-system-image-recovery.html

You will need to select "format and repartition disks" as windows 10 will have changed partitions.

Would really appreciate a solution as soon as POSSIBLE or the help from Microsoft support because it is the second time that happens (the first time it happened, the computer starts not even in safe mode, which involves the loss of ALL my documents that I had to reformat).
    Thank you.

    Hi Martinez,

    Thank you for your response.
I don't know what happened, but after a few days of my windows Explorer hanging and crashing, it suddenly worked again. I install nothing new during this period (couldn't print even from printing popup is blocked too) nor have I installed something leading to the problem.
During the time where this problem plagued by my computer, I started in safe mode and also could not access my windows Explorer.
Nevertheless, I very much appreciate your help and will keep that in mind if this happens again.
    Thank you!
    Khai

  • WIndows, internet Explorer does not not after the attempt to update windows

Windows stops responding and lights that shows cpu works doesn't Flash at all.
Whenever I try to use windows update, my computer crashes while updating. I stopped to automatic update for some time and windows was working fine, 2 days ago I try to update manually, it blocks. now, the computer runs very slowly and each time I use internet explorer, my computer crashes. I tried to use system restore to restore the computer to the date before I use window update, but nothing helped. my computer crashes around 5 minutes after it is on.

    Hello

Updates are closely related to IE.

Try these and it can also be a good idea to update your main drivers later. The General corruption can also play a
role in this issue. And even the TCP/IP stack might need to be refreshed.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

    Maybe need of these:

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

    Hi Sam,

Do you remember what makes any agreement, changes this question?

Method 1: Run the fixit available in the links below and check if that makes a difference-Worth to try
Difficulty of broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks

Note: FixIt would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

Method 2: If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 3:  Put the computer to boot and then check if the problem persists

Follow step 1 in the link below,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup follow step 7 in the link.

  • Windows 7 Explorer.exe unresponsive - Event ID 1000 (new construction)

    Hello

I have stability with Windows 7 Explorer.exe problems on my newly built PC.

Web browsers and Explorer.exe crash at startup or display the message "stopped responding" to the opening.
The Explorer.exe "not responding" issue has become less common, but I think it's perhaps related to the instability with web browsers.
I find no trigger that causes the crash, the PC is perfectly stable when left slowed or even during running scans.

It may not be relevant, but for a short period, I found that typing caused accidents. Opening IE11 and click on the links on the homepage has worked.

However the second I typed in the address bar or search IE11 would be "blocks".
During this time I could also cause explorer.exe crash by typing the search / in the start menu. Still manually by clicking programs and icons did not cause an accident. Still happen when using the virtual keyboard.
However, this is no past time, but the instability of web browser continues. Is a crash on startup (Firefox more than IE11) or "does not" after various periods of time.

    Test completed

    • SFC/scannow reveals no problem
    • No card graphics or other PCI devices are not connected (mother/ram/cpu only Board)
    • RAM has been tested on this PC & another known working PC & vice vera
    • Audit pilot Manager does not display any driver without a permit
    • 2009 fix for this issue is not relevant as input 'gas machine' is not in the registry
    • All the installed drivers are WHQL

I'd appreciate really any contributions to this number & it makes me crazy now. I can't believe I'm the only person having problems on a new installation.

  • (Redirected) Completely random crashes on R2 Area-51

    Hello all,.

I suffered for a while now with completely random crashes on my pc.

First of all, he started using windows 8, where it would be completely locked up with no BSOD and nothing, but a Kernel 41 error without code bug on this issue.  Sometimes it would happen a few minutes after turning on, sometimes it would be after playing online for some time.  This can happen in or out even when games sitting there sound without open anything.  The problem worsens consistenly to the point that when I turn on the machine after an accident that I get nothing on any of my monitors.  The lights on the base unit, but no signal is sent to my monitors.  My PC specs are as follows:

    CPU: Intel Core i7 - 5930K CPU @ 3, 5 GHz

    Memory: 16,00 installed GB supported

Hard drive: Samsung 128 GB (SSD Samsung PM851 2.5 7 mm 128 GB)

Hard drive: Toshiba 2 TB (Toshiba DT01ACA200)

    Optics: MATSHITADVDRWBD UJ167AM

Graphics cards: 3 X NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 sli configuration

I tried several things on my own at the start because I didn't call support technique dell as its normally I nightmare. .  Changed the power plan, run a scan disk via a command prompt, but then I moved to France, but could not fix. I was hoping when I upgraded to Windows 10 this can solve the problem itself, but it does not.

When I arrived in France it worked fine for a few weeks and then he started again, slowly at first and has got worse and worse to the point it didn't work anymore.  I gave up and called DELL and I must admit that my assistant to support has been very polite and friendly.  He got the computer after disconnect 2 of my 3 monitors, changing settings in the training of SLI graphics card (I had no idea that they were not resolved in this way) and update graphics drivers work card.  Again, everything seemed fine for about 1 to 2 weeks and he did it again.  Thought is perhaps the same thing, so I checked everything and it was exactly the same.

I called again and he asked me to do a system reset, which was a nightmare because there are no restore points saved after the upgrade to windows 10.  I found this strange but as I thought I saw one a few days ago.  After you eventually reinstall from the dell Web site and update the drivers it crashed again.

I just spend more than 3 hours on the phone with my assistant to support, we have 3 people working on it, we did the following:

    * Dell Support help extended by default & Stress Tests - all past.

    * Bios EPS (excuse me if I wrote it wrong) scan - all past

    * Run a test on the parameters of ultra performance game - game connected 85-175 FPS max temp 85

    * Computer time enabled using 2 diff programs - all very well

Several other checks I can't remember as I was exhausted after awhile.

During the tests, the computer crashed on 3 different screens connected on their own to different ports on the graphics card.  He locks on the BIOS test - although he is not sure which had nothing to do with it.

The only confusing thing, we can see, when we try to change the best performance to disabling SLI graphics cards, there is a program sometimes we cannot close called "drawing."  We searched everywhere and can't find it anywhere. He searched the Internet for a solution and tried a few things that have been reported to get rid of it, but that didn't work.

We had to stay there because it is after 5 pm for him and I'm waiting for a call back on Monday.  But I worry because he said they cannot send an engineer until they find a specific part that needs to be replaced and his manager will not likely allow the replacement of parts based on a hunch its something to do with graphics cards. It's also not much it sends out of the diagnostic team because hes done all the tests that they would and they did all (this also leaves me without a computer for 2 weeks apparently).

Any ideas anyone?  Of course, not long after I put the phone down, I tried the PC and drawing software has disappeared and his worked fine all night.  I searched the C:\ seek 'drawing' and I found a lot of attached.

There are many more examples, but as I'm not a person tech I don't know what they are.

Thanks in advance anyone who can help with this.

    Craig.
