  • Windows 7 freezes after login

Hi all. Last night, I did a new install of windows for a client who was under XP. I installed the OS on an old partition and has left the (OEM reserved) Partition as well, thinking that he would not make a difference.

Once the installation is complete and windows booted the computer, went to the start menu and I was able to remove some thinking that it was very well the menu icons start then boom. The computer began to get slow, slow to the point where wouldn't even open the start menu, I'd start the task manager would have ghost on the windows desktop, so it was torn in two (half showing the Ctrl Alt Delete half of growth Office menu. No process or use of the Ram being indicated in performance either. I diagnosed it could be ram like they are running two sticks of 512 MB and only 800MB of the two handsets is available but I am running less here at home on a dell computer and it works fine?

    Windows 7 32 bit
    MSI MS-7173 (RC410M) motherboard
2.4 GHZ processor (do not remember what that make or model)
    x 2-512 MB 1Rx8 PC2-5300U-555-12 sticks of Ram
    Old HDD of 250 GB
    On board graphics

PC is at less than 5 years.

I wonder if this could be a problem with the way I installed the operating system or is it RAM? Or would it be video card problems. I have already purchased Windows 7 and I don't want to give them more fees to solve this problem.

    Thank you
    Michael

  • Windows 7 freezes after the awakening of the screen saver.

Windows 7 has recently been gel after the awakening of the screen saver that works all night.  This does not happen after shorter periods, to be in screen saver mode.

I use a (empty) delivered screensaver.  When he wakes up I can open the Control Panel, but I can't open anything else.  If I try to open a Web browser first browser does not open and I can't open the Panel configuration or any other application.  I can't even restart the computer without hitting the power button.

This is a new Windows machine and it worked fine for several months.  It is a series of of CM5571 ASUS desktop PCs. Pentium E5400 Dual Core CPU. 6 GB of ram 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

In the event logs, I see errors repeated for SideBySide and volmgr.

My advice is that you should update the BIOS and motherboard drivers:

    http://support.ASUS.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Have you tried updating the BIOS yet?  'freeze upwards after the awakening of the screen saver'-c' is very similar to a problem faced by Vista users with motherboards Asus 2/3 years ago:

  • after update to adobe flash and restart firefox for mac, as requested, cannot restore the previous session

using macbook pro with os 10.7.5, was recommended to update adobe flash in firefox (22.0). did, which required closing and restarting firefox during the flash update. When you're done, firefox will automatically open to the adobe flash window and restore previous session was grayed out. can not know how to find and restore the tabs that I had used. responses and related issues is not a solution. my settings are all normal and do not seem to report any with the problem. on the contrary, it seems to be the closing and reopening of firefox associated with the flash update that nuked all memory of my last session. is there a solution?

I found my own solution to my problem! first of all, don't QUIT FIREFOX - to ensure this unwanted session does not become "last session". Instead, open a new window (command-N). in my case, he opened my usual default URL and, while in this window (whether before or after the closing of the first window browser that opened automatically after the update of adobe flash), the option 'restore previous session' in the menu historical reappeared! clicked on it and, therefore, the things everything worked normally.

  • Windows keeps freezing, then running dskchk to restart and still then freezes Help!

Last night I've used Skype and some other Web pages open as well when my computer suddenly froze and I had to reboot. When I did, he worked briefly, but froze again. On the second reboot, he said he had to check the drive for consistency. Everything went well and was able to use it again for a few minutes, but when you type in a document in word, I got the blue screen of death, which said BAD_POOL_HEADER. However, after restarting, I not had the BSOD again. It freezes just up during use, runs the check of the drive even again and again, but continues to freeze later. The arrow works, but absolutely nothing else. I can't even run the computer in safe mode.

I also noticed it says "recovering orphaned files" and "error correction in the index $I30 in file 50705" throughout the dskchk. There was something to find 19 unindexed files as well. In addition, the last time that I have restarted, he said that Skype is a corrupted file. I uninstalled Skype but this does seem to doing nothing at all.

Looks like there's a LOT of different things going on here and I'm not that great with computers so I don't know what to do. All I can find are forums online and none were particularly useful. I live in the South of Senegal, so I can't exactly go to a workshop to repair either...

Is - fixable? Please help me!

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:
Start in safe mode and then try to run chkdsk.
See this link for the how to start in safe mode:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
See the link to check your hard disk for errors:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors
WARNING: Microsoft does not recommend interrupting the CHKDSK process. Microsoft does not guarantee the integrity of the disk if the CHKDSK program is interrupted. For security, you can back up your data before using check disk drive if you can. Defective sectors found while making the disk check would result in a loss of data.

    Method 2:
I also suggest you to run chkdsk utility fromWindows recovery (WINRE) enviornment and check if that helps you solve the problem.
Follow the steps below to start the computer using the WINRE and run the chkdsk utility.
    a. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc.
    b. restart your computer.
    c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    e. click on repair your computer.
    f. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    g. on the System Recovery Options menu, select command prompt.
    h. type the command chkdsk C: /f /r and press enter

  • Windows 7 freezes for the right click devices and printers don't is not loading

I support for a local photography studio and built all of their computers. One of their photo editing machines faced some weird problems I can't solve.

It is currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. About two months ago the mainly the user complained that a right-click on a folder or a file on the desktop would cause the computer to freeze. She also noted that devices and printers would not have been responsible. We finally just did a clean install of Windows, and that seemed to fix the problem...

    .. .for a while.

About two weeks, the same two problems returned, now it is intermittent. The user declares every morning, she has him restart the computer several times, but then everything works very well for the rest of the day. But while it comes in the next morning, and it does the same thing.

I tried manually reset the BIOs, turn on Bluetooth Services (even if that computer does not all bluetooth devices) and play with Windows registry a bit, but because the problem is not compliant, it is very difficult to solve.

I don't know if it's a hardware or a Windows problem. All the tracks would be greatly appreciated!

Check the report viewer for all errors that occur.

Clean boot the PC and redo the test

Run a memory test and a test HD

  • can you do when you open Favorites and mak new tabs that the wontnt window close dropdown after each new bookmark bookmark and stay open till fact

I was wondering if there is a way to have the bookmark drop down window stay open until you open all your bookmarks instead of having close and have to re open every time?

Save all the bookmarks that you want to open both in a single folder. Later, go to the folder of bookmarks and click on "open all in tabs". You can also go to the folder of bookmarks "Recently bookmarked" and click "all open tabs" here also. Personally, I went into Edition-> Preferences-> general, and the value "When Firefox starts" to "show my windows and tabs from Last Time '. That way Firefox always restores my previous session and I need to retrieve web pages from my favorites.

  • Satellite X 200 freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity

I'm tired of this problem: my laptop freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity and I can get it going again to reset. The problem was solved when I reinstall Vista, but after several months my laptop started hanging up. And my laptop is unable to install Tempro 2.0.3.

Please, help me to solve this problem and I don't want to reinstall Vista again.

    Hello

For me it sounds like that a 3rd party software application or is causing this problem because you wrote that after Vista reinstall, the problem has been resolved.

I put t know this software you have installed, but you need to remove all unnecessary applications as shareware or trial versions.
Then use CCleaner to clean the registry.
Visit the Windows update website and install all the updates that are available for your Windows.

In the worst case, you will need to reinstall Vista again. In my opinion a reinstall from time to time is normal and I have reinstall my laptop every year. So I often have good performance.
