How much it costs for migration of Windows 7 Home basic to Windows 7 Premium and Ultimate. Please tell me the details separately.

The only Express upgrade I have awareness of who is available for Home Basic to Home Premium is available at the Microsoft Store India:

http://www.microsoftstore.co.in/Microsoft/702/product/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade-Windows-7-Home-Basic-to-Home-Premium.aspx

  • Vista Performance, memory resources needs, difference between Vista Home Basic family and Vista Premium.

My computer is an Acer Aspire with an E2140 1.60ghz processor, including a 200 GB hard drive and 1 GB of ram. I am running Windows Vista Premium Edition family. However, my computer seems to work slowly and very inefficient. I did everything I can to restore its performance. My question is, quite simply. If Vista Basic reguires only 512 MB of ram and vista premium Edition requires 1 GB. My pc would have better performance using vista Basic instead of Vista premium edition? Because how basic requires less ram? Or replacement with basic premium would cause my cpu to work hard?

There is no difference in speed between the edition of Vista. You can try to disable the Aero glass theme if your graphics card is too slow. Now, the CPU is more used to render the UI rather than the GPU. How much is your RAM used?  Look in Taskmanager on the used/cache/RAM values of the free.

To improve the speed, you should switch to 2 GB of RAM.

  • How do I cancel a premium upgrade windows Home Basic 7

I want to know how I can cancel an upgrade, I bought a laptop with windows 7 Home Basic and without my knowledge my son toward the down loaded windows 7 Home premium upgrade and he upgraded the original windows 7 Home Basic. Now, I want to cancel the upgrade without restoring the system... Can someone suggest a method to do the same thing...

    Concerning
    Joseph

As my windows 7 Home Basic is original and premium is a copy so I don't get updated

As suggested, you will need to use the recovery partition or the put recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 Home Basic Edition:

    -------------------------------------

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

  • Update Vista Home Basic to Premium Edition Office to allow access by laptop running Windows 7

Could someone please advise if I have Vista Home basic desktop Home Premium so I can use laptop running preloaded Windows 7 Office Access? I saw advice that W7 can only comm if Office Home basic is updated! If PORTABLE PERFORMER pre-installed w7 MAY ACCESS DESKTOP. Is this possible and how?

You can move from Home Basic to Home Premium, but Microsoft sells more than Vista.  You need to find a copy of retail, Vista Home Premium (not OEM) somewhere like eBay.  You can use either a copy of the upgrade or full license to do the upgrade.  eHow has an article on the actual upgrade process.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_6297506_upgrade-Vista-Home-Basic-Premium.html

The article mentions that you need some version of upgrade, but they speak the old Anytime Upgrade which is no longer available.  Ignore this.

I am trying to upgrade Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 to Windows 7 Home premium. The compatibility report indicates no problem, except that the keyboard filter stops working after the upgrade. It is just information and no error, so I continued. In the 'Windows Update' step during the "collection of files, settings and programs" in point 32%, I get "Windows has stopped working" pop up and the only option given is "close the program". Tried twice with the same results at the same point. Help, please.

    Hi ronnieVron,

Your copy of Windows is only allowed for 'a machine If you want to put Vista Edition home premium on your 'old laptop"you can buy a new copy of Vista premium. Another point is that copies of Windows was probably preinstalled on your laptop, which means that, putting license on one side, your copy is related to each specific laptop and so, because the copy is related to the material on each laptop, you would have problems on other transfer machine. Anyway you could invalidate your Windows license.

I've upgraded to Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows Home Premium about a year on this computer. This computer had to enter the shop to be fixed. When I came back, I noticed that he had Home Basic top. I tried to use the disk upgrade on this computer again and it won't let me not upgrading and Technical Support wants to charge me 59,00 just to tell me what's wrong. Because of this support:

If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
You will need to swap the disk to upgrade to a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have installed.

If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

You can only do this with the editions of Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition.
