Windows 7 Homegroup impression - do not print until reboot

Before enter in my question, I would like to note that I am an experienced user and have tried ALL of the fixes recommended by Microsoft in this forum, including reinstalling the drivers, reset the print spools, check the firewall settings and reset homegroup settings sharing etc.

I have three computers that are running Windows 7, two laptops and one desktop, all are connected to the same homegroup in Win7, run all the Windows Firewall.  The office is connected to a USB - a HP color Laserjet 2600n printer.  Wireless, laptops are connected to the network via a router, 802.11 g, Netgear.  File homegroup, sharing between these machines works very well (that is to say all the docs, music, etc. can be shared) and the LATEST multimedia of hp printer driver is installed on all computers in three.  I can print fine from my office, but cannot print from a laptop, despite the HP printer is visible in the control panel of these machines as the default printer.

Firewall settings are OK for print sharing (I checked), the print on all machines spooler service is OK.  Files for printing show like "impression" (on the hand-held transmitter and the desktop), but do not print unless the computers on the network are restarted.  Homegroup print files cannot be deleted, but will ALWAYS display (despite the deletion attempt) when restarting.

Can you please recognize whether it is a bug and if so when will be released the patch to fix.

Thank you

I also had the same problem with my printer when I tried to print to it from my laptop using the homegroup sharing printers. I had the same symptoms: I could send the document to the printer, but it wouldn't print until I rebooted the computer on which the printer is physically connected to. The only way I could solve the problem was to disable bidirectional Support. Once I disabled that, I was able to print from my laptop to my printer which is connected to my office.

How to disable bidirectional Support is to right-click on your printer icon in the control panel and select printer properties, select the Ports tab and remove the check mark next to enable bidirectional Support.

This isn't the perfect solution, because I will not get notifications from my printer when the printer is in paper, or when a particular toner cartridge is low, etc.. But at least I can share the printer with my laptop without having to unconnect physically on the office printer and then connect it to my laptop whenever I want to print from my laptop.

    Hello

I have a problem with a previously working printer Lexmark Wifi and my laptop Lenovo. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my printer was backing in the print spooler after printing a single page. If I rebooted my laptop spooled printing will automatically display, and I am able to make an impression more (single page) before I have to restart again. I finally got fed up and removed the printer and recharged through the Add Printer Wizard. Now, I can't print at all. The printer is selected by default, not to display any errors when I run the troubleshooting, but test pages do not print. I tried to download the latest drivers from lexmark, deleting and reloading the printer through the wizard several times, reset between the two and nothing. We have a second laptop with windows vista connected to the printer, and it has no problem printing. It has been implemented in this way for several years, without much trouble.

You can try to uninstall the software using this tool and then put it back.

  • HP Officejet 4630 portable printer: HP Officejet 4630 printer does not print until the computer is restarted

When I send a document to the printer; It shows in the print queue, but does not print.  When I restart my computer, the document will print.

The same thing happens whenever I have send a document to the printer.  I have a WiFi connection from my laptop to the printer.  The blue icon on the printer lights indicating that plugged.

Why does only work when the computer is restarted?  I ran the HP Support Assistant, and it does not find the printer; even if the printer seems to find the computer once I restarted the computer.

It's embarrassing to say and I'm not very technical interest.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Maggie78

    Thank you for your patience.

    You can try the following:

    Creating a TCP IP port

    1. print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
    2. on your PC, go to the Panel control, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
    3. click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
    4. Enter the IP address of the printer.

Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)

    Hope that helps!

  • Cannot use manual feed, cannot print until reboot

Recent computer replacement, went from XP to Windows 7.  Same old Laser Jet 4000 since 1998, however.  It still doesn't seem to get along with Windows 7.  It is installed with only a local connection (there is no ethernet connection available at the back of the printer.)  Windows detects that it's here, acts as it should work.  Installed by plug & play, driver told me a USB printing Support has been installed, & name of the HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL 5 driver.  My printer serial number is USMB290030.  With XP, when I wanted to use the manual feed printer to print on envelopes & letterhead, the option was always there through the Properties menu of the printer.  Now, the option feeder manual seems to be there for printing envelopes (Microsoft Word), but not for printing format letter.

Oh, Yes, and it does not print anything until I restart.  I tried doctors convenience stores/printing HP and Microsoft.  Search in the forums, search the Web General, tried to unplug the USB and re - connect the new computer.  The HP scan doctor said that print USB media is not installed, even if installs it plug-and-play.  The HP Scan Doctor sent me to a generic website for downloads get USB print media, and I can't find a USB print media when searching for it.  Get current on all Windows updates.  HP told me to get the driver through Windows Update when I try to get (or update) through their website.

TI guys said maybe it's because it's USB & connector cable is the old sign in parallel at the end of the printer & USB PC and the old printer side is faced with USB, but his computer is Windows 7 for a long time and there the same printer model (in fact, we have 6 of these 4000 series to the office & the rest seems to work.)  We have also recently updated our network from Server 2003 to Server 2008...

    Please, any suggestions?

  • Sharing USB on Windows 7 printer will not print until the system reboots

I have a HP Color LaserJet 1600 printer attached to my system Windows 7 x 64 via USB.  Printing from the local computer is fine.

However, when I add the shared printer on another machine in my homegroup and print for her, the job appears in the print queue (visible from both the native system as the computer to which the printer is connected) but nothing prints.  Attempt to delete just print job gives the status of "Delete", but the work is never removed from the queue.  When restarting the system (to which the printer is hung up), the job prints (even if a deletion was attempted).

    Specifics:
    Machine 1: Windows 7 x 64 with USB LaserJet 1600 (with x 64 and x 86 drivers).
Directly connected to the Linksys router.
    Machine 2: Windows 7 x 86 with LaserJet 1600 x 86 drivers installed.
Wireless connection to the Linksys router.

None of this behavior has been observed when we were using Vista, x 64, and x 86 on both machines.

  • HP Photosmart estation C510 on Windows 7 scan but will not print

I have a HP Photosmart C510 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit-based station.  I moved our office where she operated 2 months ago very well.  I can't send a print job to the printer and it reads print but is just idol.  I can scan a document very well.  I loaded and unloaded the software 4 times.  I bought new ink cartridges and install them as well.  I removed the print head and cleaned it and the contacts at the back. I tried the diagnostic tool at least 10 times, and everything indicates that the printer is ready and no problems found. I tried troubleshooting on windows and it shows the status is fine.  I used the HP convenience store and status show ready for use.  I checked the Device Manager, and no abnormalities.  I spent at least 20 hours on this forum, try to find a solution and try each and everything I could find that still resembled a possible fix.  Before I throw this machine on the street, I would like some help that I paid a lot for the machine, but I have to be able to do more than scan with it.  I read a lot of many post of some truly smart people then you are my last hope line.

I understand now.  Would you be interested to try a full reset which should put this in 'as new' condition or you have done that already?  There is nothing that is in any document on the internet and I will have private message it you if you want to try it.

I understand the logic of a trial version as you explained. I will deal with this problem when the problem will get more serious, but for now I can deal with that.

I want to thank you very much for all the time that you upgrade to solve my problems.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

  • computer has crashed and now windows 7 tells me its not true until I have another product key... help

How can I get the product key

    Phillip

You have to buy a new copy of Windows 7 to get a product key, but a new key may not be necessary.

I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode (not safe mode) and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

  • Canon i850 printer shared by Windows XP and Win7 does not print the entire page

I've just updated my Vista laptop to Windows 7 as a place to upgrade. All migrated without problem except this shared printer. I downloaded the updated driver from MS download the catalog and the Win 7 Add the fron Canon pack I have installed in that order. The printer is connected to the desktop from Win XP to USB and is configured as a shared printer. Windows 7 sees the printer and also its status but print a test page prints only the windows of the flag in the upper left corner of the rest of the page is empty. Print directly to the printer under Win XP works perfectly. All ideas are welcome. Thank you.

Well, I've had sorted it here's what I did:

Removed all instances of canon i850 of devices and printers in Win 7.Rebooted, and then at the Run prompt run this command, "Printui/s/t2" without the quotes... Removed the i850 canon drivers and packages, then restarted again. Then I turned on the printer and plugged into a USB port on the computer to Win7... It installed the driver for me to Windows Update and a USB driver. I then added a printer shared in devices and printers selected local printer and set up the port as: \\xp computer name\share name\. I chose the same driver in the list that was created previously Setup USB canon i850... Restarted then installed the Canon Add / on module: aomwin110ea23us.exe. Restarted again... NOW, I CAN PRINT!

    Nice day.
