Windows 7 install on the old system

I'm not quite sure that if my machine will work with work with Windows 7, even with the information gave me the Upgrade Advisor. The only thing that seems like it might be a problem is the audio drivers. The machine is a gateway profile 4, which has a processor clocked at 2.4 ghz and 80 GB HDD. I think that the computer has been on the market about 2003 if that says anything. There are also installation provided with computer disks, then you might uninstall and reinstall or repair if necessary. I'm kinda stuck between trying to install windows 7 on this computer or just get a newer computer with Windows 7 on it already.

All your drivers came from the bridge, as the computer manufacturer provides drivers for purchased brand computers/computers portable and if Gateway has no Windows 7 Audio drivers available for this model of computer that has integrated sound, you can buy a card of its Compatible Windows 7 and install it yourself.

See you soon.

  • I want to change my system. How can I transfer windows & other software in the new system of old?

I need to change my system & the procedure required to transfer my software registered in the new system

    Hello mohan,.

You cannot transfer windows & other software in the new system of old...

In my view, it is possible to copy some software only...

If you want your old software listed, I think that it is preferable to use to use your old hard drive in your new system... If you need more space, you can also lly add another hard drive to your new system...

You can buy a full windows installation on your motherboard retail retail.
    EDIT: added more information.

) SLP OEM: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. I installed windows 7. In the old version of win xp, I got an anti virus, but I cannot replace it in the windows.old folder

You cannot extract a whole program from the Windows.old folder, it is used to recover individual files.

You must reinstall the antivirus from the original media. Most AV programs can be downloaded from the Web

Consider installing Microsoft's Security Essentials Antivirus program. It is clean, simple and free.

  • Having difficulties to install CS3 after activation on the old system

I've had CS3 on a XP system for almost 4 years now and need to move to a new PC (Win 7 Home Premium) to proceed.  The product of CS3 is on a DVD via a download which installed on the XP system.  I disabled the CS3 Suite on the PC XP and now seeks to install on PC Win 7.  The installation program starts, and then asks for Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium - as she asked this DVD or file?  It's on the same DVD as the setep.exe file that runs.  Choices are OK and cancel.  OK nothing and cancel finishes the installation.  I have all the keys to avtivate products, but I don't get that far.  Need help please.

I don't know what could cause this error.

Would you copy all the files to install on your computer, somewhere on the hard disk, and then run the installer from there?

Could you try and see if it helps? Make the same mistake then too?

Also, are there other setup.exe, somewhere higher in the folder hierarchy, or is it the only one?

  • backup of the old system changed the type of operating system installation

After backup all data to your desktop at home and move the backup file on the replacement computer that was running and had been activated, got backup and ran into problems.  The original pc was an OEM system with a valid OEM key and had been activated for years.  The new system is a renewed system which has an apparently valid cd and COA 'For refurbished computers' active fine and had been restarted several times after activation before the fiasco of the backup.

After that I ran the backup recovery, system was restarted as planned, but when the time came to connect to windows, we encountered a problem of activation.  He said that the system should be activated.  I went ahead and put in the key that is attached to the system (the key for PC) refurbished, but he would go through.  I checked that I read the key from the sticker correctly several times and by two other people.  He would not suffer.  Just on a chance that the backup of the old system caused a little problem, I tried the OEM key that was on the original system.  He's been through.

If the old system should simply be scrapped, I don't think anything, but it will be either made to disadvantaged youth, so I want to make sure that everything is always good about it and it is all above board.  In its current form of the key is now on two different systems.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hello

  • How to download printer driver Canon Pixma MP240 on a disk with Vista Home Premium installed on the old PC with XP Home not connected to the internet, THE WAY EASY, PLEASE

  • Error: "Windows cannot install to the selected location. Error: 0 x 80300001. »

When I try to install Windows 7 on my Toshiba computer formatted I get this error message after trying to install the RAID driver during the installation process:

"Windows cannot install to the selected location. "Error: 0 x 80300001.

I'm unable to proceed with the installation. Can someone please?

    Hi Jon,

This error can occur during a clean Windows 7 install the operating system installation media is not in the drive. This happens usually when a user is necessary for the exchange of discs in order to install the necessary drivers on the system and the operating system disks were not placed in the drive before proceeding with the installation.

The error would not occur if the Setup program has been started using a USB key as stable media would not be switched.

The solution would be to change the driver CD or DVD of Windows 7 install DVD media when this happens, then we can continue with the installation of Windows 7. In this particular case, it is likely that the RAID driver disk has been left in the drive.

Note: This problem/error appeared less in Windows Vista since a message asking to specify the installation media usually as follows:

"Please insert the disc 1 installation of Windows.

  • My computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants). How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

As says the question: my computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants).  How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

I'm running a full system scan in ESM right now, and it has detected multiple instances of sirefef.   I have remove as they pop up, but I'm afraid that when I run another scan they all will always be there.  Is there a way to know if MSE is actually remove them and he cleaning?  If not, should I do a back up and reinstall the OS?

Thank you.  I can choose to try this, however, I would like an answer to my other questions first.

Sirefef is a rootkit and yes he can hide in your system.  This is why it has been suggested that you may need to reformat/reinstall.  In fact, it's the only way to eliminate malware.  Multiple scans with several scanners and no conclusion malware probably indicate he disappeared, but the key word is "probably".  Malwarebytes is good and what he finds now may be traces of the infection, but what he finds perhaps not active more - it is always good to run the scans so.

What spare drive did you run?  What scanners did you use?  See again you and follow the guide "Malwaretips"?

For the firewall problem, you can try the following Microsoft Fixit.

Diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_firewall_diagnostic/en-us

One of the users of the Forum answers maintains that a great guide on information security is important for understanding the removal of malicious software.  See the following compliments of Brian M - for suggestions on how to solve your problem: http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-guide/#after see: after the removal process and solve the problems of Post disinfection

Uninstall/reinstall of MSE is how?  All the problems?  Have you tested MSE with eicar to be sure it's working?

Assume that you have not had an opportunity to review the MSE Installation Checklist or you would have noted that MSE and Windows Defender cannot be used on the same computer.  So if WD works in fact it means MSE has been disabled/not not work correctly or not installed.

See the next WD re: Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials
