Windows 7 Installation invites for DVD/CD driver

During installation, the following error occurs:

A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can remove it for this step.

Was it a downloaded version of Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store or Digital River student promotion? If its is, its possible that the files were not correctly burn the disk. Or its possible that this is a faulty download and you have to get a new copy. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

    Help please!

    Hi Brian,.

    1. are you able to install all device drivers?
    2. which antivirus program is installed on your computer?
    3. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

The question seems to be as a program is blocked.

Windows Dvd installers are much more likely to become corrupt than ISO files or installers of USB. They are not indestructible and are best kept in a DVD box for safekeping.  All it takes is a simple scratch on the label of the DVD side and toast.

I want to install windows 7 and I was wondering if I can take the dvd from the drive after the installation. Or should I keep it there to set up the hardware and install the video drivers?

Know not why you need to release the DVD (unless you are installing on multiple computers and you need the DVD as soon as possible - which case I suggest you get some 4 GB USB sticks and making the installation media bootable off of them for speed and flexibility in this situation - but once the files are copied and extracted - you can remove the DVD.

If you ask because you are caugfht in a boot loop - just change your BIOS settings so it starts on the second CD/DVD drive and the hard drive first and then determine what needs to specify the bootable media to power on the key combination (for example, Dell is F12) and the press who After turning on the machine until you get the selection menu and choose the DVD of the first hour and then ignore it from there on.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 860se-100: required power for DVD cable drive on Envy Phoenix 860

I recently bought a Phoenix of envy and the first task was to cut the power of 500w and replace it with a bigger 80 more platinum supply (EVGA Supernova 750w P2). I have a 980ti video card and added a few SSDs that require the increased power.

While it is installed and works well, the Endowment had a [what I have now learned to know as] sata mini connector for power to the DVD player. Naturally my new power supply do not have that.

Best I can tell is to get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009JXKQ9O?keywords=mini%20sata%20adapter & qid = 1458574748 & ref_ = sr_1 _... (although I have will probably want it a little longer)

This should allow me to connect the sata and power from the motherboard. So my question is that correct?

Or something like that might work also, http://www.amazon.com/Syba-Cable-Molex-Adapter-CL-CAB40042/dp/B005BCNAWM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1458...

I guess that this connects to my diet?

I bought a cable mini sata (6 pins) on ebay for a few dollars. Solved the problem. Subsequently my brother mentioned that the electricity company probably would send me a free.

500 watts was barely sufficient to manage the graphics card processor and 980ti. I don't want a bill of $600 to replace my card because the power supply has failed. Not to mention that it is more than 10% more efficient.

    Thanks for the reply.
