Windows 7 is not ask password Wifi and doesn't connect

I have an Acer Windows 7 Starter. Everything works fine, but the Wifi part is just frustrating (sorry if I'm an overreaction). I tried several times to connect to WiFi, I use at home, but it does not work. I click on "Connect automatically" and also click on 'connect' after that, but it does nothing. He is not asking the security key, it does not connect to the internet, the box just disappears and does nothing. Other devices use Wifi, I am trying to connect to, and it works for those who, just not this computer. Any help out there? Thank you. -Lea

  • Windows XP does not ask for password for a secure network, wifi not connecting. Says "validating identity".

Have tried just about everything I can think of. computer is connected to the front secure networks without problem.

More information would be useful.  Windows XP did not support thereafter until SP3 WPA2 wireless encryption, so if you have not installed SP3 and try to authenticate on a network protected by WPA2, it may not work.

Assuming that you do not have SP3 installed, try to go into your wireless network configuration / configuration screen.  (There are several different configurations of wireless, including ZeroConfig, but we do not know that you are using).  All most of them save previous in a 'profile' wireless connections so that when he meets this wireless again, he knows how to configure itself.  Find the section of your configuration screen profile, look for the SSID of the router you are trying to connect, and if you see it, then delete that profile.  This will allow your machine to then reconnect to the router wireless with an open mind.

  • Windows 8 will not ask for password on wake up from sleep

My Dell laptop since the upgrade to windows 8 Windows 7, when I close my lid does not go to sleep, or when I wake to sleep, it does not ask me for a password, everything has been reset to the default values, but I don't know why it doesn't work. someone please help!

The solution, as someone else has asked this question also and got the correct answer - see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/password-after-sleep/8ef46143-300e-41e8-aafb-b61782b67145 . There is a new setting of Windows 8 on top normal settings in the power settings.

Be aware that setting how long time should pass before asking to specify a password is required is a per-user setting, so if you need to change the default value of 15 minutes, it takes to each user created on the system.

For me, I took me 1 minute rather than always for all users, as it is pleasant, if after an accidental sleep, a user can always resume immediately. But the foregoing I have a password.

    Original title: Windows 7

I used to have Windows 8 on my laptop. Well, so I've updated for Windows 10. Config my laptop wasn't as good, so it's slow. Recently, I installed Windows 7 (as it is known for the performance) somehow, the internet does not work. Missing the drivers for the wifi and lan. What should I do?

Well, as my readers usb and touch screen no longer work.

You have installed Windows 7 on a machine that is preinstalled with Windows 8, without checking first if the computer manufacturer supported and provided Windows 7 drivers for it.

If does not support or provide Windows 7 drivers for this, you should never have installed Windows 7 on this computer Windows 8 and we cannot help you.

    Reinstall Windows 8.

  • "Windows updates were not be properly configured and restoration of changes." The computer freeze

I have a laptop Dell inspiron 1501 with windows vista on it.

I don't have the disc of windows Vista DVD you are referring to, I have never recived a Dell I bought the computer on the internet with vista already installed.

My problem is that, with respect to the windows updates, I get a message saying "Windows have been developed to date not be properly configured and restoration of changes". I have 51 updates pending, 47 of these updates is equivalent to 170 MB.

As a result of these updates, I think it's the cause of my freezing computer once I have connected and I have to restart only having do not 2 - 3 times.

When the computer "freezes" the cursor does not move throughout the scene, none of the keys works, including Manager tasks etc., the only thing that works is to turn the computer off. Sometimes, there is a beep, beep once the computer crashes.

Over 95% the updates I have try have 'no '.

I'm lost as how to how to repair?

All good suggestions welcome to solve this problem, the simpler the better... I don't want to have to buy a new computer... If I won't Dell... and I'll have to get the windows disc... most solutions here seem to require it...

    Hi AL0001,

Run the chkdsk command to check that there are no problems with your hard drive. To run the disk check, follow these steps:

    1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.
    2. Select Mode safe mode with command prompt.
    3. At the command prompt, type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /)

Meanwhile, check the Dell website to see how you can get a recovery disk in case you need to recover Windows.

  • Satellite Pro L300-PSLB1E: XP does not control the wifi to the power connection

    * + Hello + *.

I have a model Satellite Pro L300-PSLB1E and a XP Professional SP3 on it.
Already everything works because I had a compilation of drivers copy of the past.

The problem is that XP does not control the WiFi works without danger the and it disconects when I close the lid.

So I tried with the power that said safety program to:

    Bq. [06/04/08 Power Saver Toshiba Windows XP 7.04.02I | http://es.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/tracker.jsp?file=http%3a%2f%2fsupport1.toshiba-tro.de%2ftedd-files2%2f0%2fpwrsav-es-20080519173239.zip] + doesn't work-error 0 x 0 +.
And I tried also with the thought of program Toshiba wifi on 32-bit compatibility:
Bq. [Intel PROSet/Wireless Software | http://es.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/tracker.jsp?file=http%3a%2f%2fsupport1.toshiba-tro.de%2ftedd-files2%2f0%2fpro-ncs-20080416140552.zip] + doesn't work too-Said controller is not installed when you and full work +.

So, how to control the peripheral power turn off on?

Bq. * + thanks for your attention and patient. + *

    Hello

Firstly the Toshiba Power Saver requires the installation of the common Module.
The common Module for Win XP v1.00.05 can be downloaded from the European pilot page Toshiba.

So before installing the energy saver, install common Module, restart the computer, and then try the energy saver.

In addition the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software can be used only with the Intel Wlan card.
Is the laptop supports the Intel wireless network adapter?

AFAIK the L300 series can be equipped with a Realtek, Atheros and Intel Wlan card
    Check it!

  • My CD and DVD readers do not read the disc and my computer connects to the internet.

In fact, I was downloading a game whose download was about 5 hours. So, I start in the morning and destiny to let it download until I got home. Now, in general, I did it all the time without ANY problems, but when I got home yesterday, 12/08/09 about 19:10:00 PST, the screen was black and read something along the lines of insert a bootable media device or restart your computer. Then, knowing that my score was beautiful and just as good HARD drive, I restarted. He reloaded the check disk tool and started a scan of my C: drive. He then started a long list of repairs, the removal and relocation of some files and things. Fine. Regardless of return to work. However, once it started normally, I couldn't access the internet. I tried to use the installation disc supplied with my DSL 2WIRE Modem, but it did not read and doesn't not appear on my computer. Then, I checked the Device Manager, I found to my surprise that the drivers to my readers of CD-ROM and DVD have disappeared, as well as my internet modem. So now, after this long description, my question is how/where on earth can download the proper drivers and then transport them to my computer? I use computer a member of the family at this time and would like to return mine. The name of my internet modem is Realtek RTL8139. Thanks for the help.

    Hello CC831,

Thank you for your message.  Go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the drivers you need.  You can then transfer these drivers on your computer that do not correctly work with a USB key or external hard drive.  Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.
