Windows 7 on bootcamp

Hello

I have a Macbook pro, and I'm considering buying a copy of Windows to run using boot camp. I saw another post on this forum and it seems that it is legal to use an OEM license. Microsoft, as I already had another copy of Windows installed on this computer a few months ago (own format), it would be acceptable to install a refurbished copy?

Thank you

No, a renovated license would come only pre-installed on a computer designated as refurbished or pre-owned authorized repairer.

You must use an OEM System Builder License that is perfectly fine.

  • Installation of windows 7 with bootcamp

In discussions with Apple Support technicians, I was led to believe that the MacBook Pro machines supported Windows 7 and above. However, when trying to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp Assistant, I learned that Windows 7 is not supported and I must have Windows 8 or higher.

Is there a work around? Or do I have to get a license of Windows 8?

For BootCamp, there is no work-around: Win8 or Win10 are your choices. However, such as Parallels Desktop virtualization solutions can run any version of Windows and can be a viable solution for you.

  • Why the sound does not work in Windows 10 with BootCamp installed on MacBook Pro mid 2012

So, I recently had a mistake huge hard drive, then I formatted the drive and installed Windows 10 I downloaded the BootCamp 5.1.5621 software (which is the version for this computer) and my audio didn't work. I've used Windows 8.1 in the past without Activation, but that was a few months ago. I've deleted it 2 days after I put it on the computer, but all drivers well worked out there. Although I plug in a USB headset and audio installed and worked fine! Help, please! I even reinstalled BootCamp!

I have the same Macbook Pro 2012 with boot camp and dual boot Windows-10 and Sierra.

Everything works fine. I think you have the wrong boot camp files.

I think that you need version 6. Reconnect to OS X and run the boot camp assistant and try to download new files from boot camp.

  • Cannot install Windows 10 Pro bootcamp support software

I have recently installed Windows 10 Pro on my MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2015, retina), OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 (15 d 21). After Windows restarted, bootcamp has started to install drivers from support and hung on the Realtek driver. Let him all night but he still has not made progress, so I closed the installation program. Now I can't find how to restart, or to download the drivers and install them manually. I had to hold the option key when you restart back into OS X. According to the oldest documents, I tried rerunning the bootcamp assistant to download USB drivers, but this version gives me the option to restore my drive to its original state. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you.

I couldn't find a place to download the drivers for bootcamp support and discovered in training camp 6, the drivers are downloaded on a separate partition on the SSD (instead of USB drive). So I wiped the installation of windows and repartee with the intention to copy the downloaded software (which I did). Yet once bootcamp hooked when installing the Realtek driver and did some googling. I found this post that solved my problem. https://discussions.Apple.com/thread/6567790?TSTART=0

  • Missing Mac 8.1 Windows partition and Bootcamp

So, I have seen very similar messages and followed several forums, but I can't yet figure out what to do next.

I have 8.1 Windows on my Mac.  I wanted to repartition the Windows partition and make bigger it because I was running low on space, and the Windows partition is what I use it mostly for graduate studies.  About a year ago, I took an easy youtube video and used Mini Wizard Partition re-partition space and it worked perfectly.  I have found the same video and tried to repartition the Windows partition again, but apparently I royally screwed up.

My BootCamp is not yet visible more in disk utility.  Under the partitions, there is an option called "disk0s4" greyed, but I'm not allowed to do something with it.  I can't verify or repair.  If I go to Applications, BootCamp Assistant is there, but he wants me to start the installation of BootCamp.  It was not an option to restart Windows more, and when I turned on with alt + market, Windows was not an option more.

    I followed this tutorial:

    http://nerdr.com/bootcamp-partition-lost-repairing-Mac-partitions/

and when I restarted my Mac, restart Windows was an option. So I thought that I fixed it! EVIL.  My screen was black and said: 'Missing Operating System '.

I downloaded EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac (because it was another suggestion), and I was able to recover and see the files on the NTFS disk0s4, so I'm quite positive, they have not all been completely erased.  Or at least the part of basic Windows is still there.  I can't recover the drive to anything, because it tells me that I will just be fitness on the same drive, and I honestly don't know how to retrieve these files will help with the side of the partition of things.

I also used TestDisk and it seemed to find my missing partition, but in the middle of analysing it, it says something like "disk too small."  After further research, I went through and took only the most recent score that seemed to be deleted with NTFS, and when you are trying to do, it would allow me to make a 'logic' partition because he said something in red, as 'bad file.'

My Mac still works perfectly, but I'm terribly need to recover my windows.  All suggestions are useful!  Thank you!

  • Error when using windows update on bootcamp

I used bootcamp to install windows 10 home complete edition on my iMac 21.5 with Retina display. I had installed windows 8.1 because I thought that it would be cheaper to get an and upgrade to windows 10 but the update never worked. Whenever I have run windows update it lists a bunch of updates but the problem lies in the update of drivers intel. Whenever it will install those, it restarts like 3 times and then goes into automatic and removes this update. So I never could go from 8.1 to 10. I purchased 10 windows and installed, but the same thing happens. I run windows update, and it lists the normal updates when you get a new start. When it comes to drivers intel for iris graphics pro, it restarts and goes into automatic. In windows 8.1, she paused, but in windows 10 it ceases to be in this vicious circle. It restarts, then ASR, then starts up without the updates, and then running windows update and restarts againg and again so all this. I tried to delete the drivers intel bootcamp installed and that seems to work, but it still restarts. Is there a way I can hope to make it work as it should, or I'll just have to consider removing the drivers or going back to 8.1? Someone please help! :/

  • Cannot load Windows 10 in Bootcamp

I'm following the directions of Apple install Windows 10 (1st time install, not an update) on my end 2015 iMac, retina 5 k (with disc Fusion) and he could not get past the stage of "format" in the part of the bootcamp partition Windows Installer. According to Apple, the Mac should work with Windows 10.  Below is a hit format prior to photo.  I guess I chose the partition called Bootcamp (which BTW, shows, 280 GB if I chose 300 GB when I chose the size of the partition at the beginning of training camp) and then, as noted below, because it can not be installed it until that formatted, I hit the Format button by following the instructions.

It only "formats" for a few seconds then the following readers appear and the Bootcamp is absent next to the Partition of drive 0 5.  If I then select next, message appears as seen at the bottom of the screenshot.  It will not go forward from here and I have to get out.  The additional 300 GB partition is on my Mac when I go into disk utility again but Bootcamp is returned in his name.  It is called Untitled.

I called Apple Care and they are trying to help him by sending me instructions about 3 versions of Mac OS x bootcamp there, saying: it must be the same.  Clearly not... the new process of El Capitan, you can use a file ISO on the Mac compared to a USB key, among other things.  It's funny that my iMac is not listed as one that can use the ISO on the USB key local file, but when I mentioned that to Apple Care, that they did not need to know the list of compatible Macs to this end.  I asked if there was another way to try against the local ISO file and it is when they sent me the old instructions of bootcamp.  Then they said it was a Windows problem since I was inside the Windows installation procedure when all this happened.  Called then for a good laugh and they immediately said it was a matter of Apple Bootcamp and wished me good luck.  Big surprise.

On another walk through the instructions I see online, it follows the same steps, but I note that there are not other readers in the window of your choice (like the 1 Drive, Drive 2, etc.)  I do not have all of the Thunderbolt, which Apple disks suggest that gives this error message.  I also disassembled USB drivers when I tried it.

Any suggestions would be helpful.  I have screenshot at almost every step along the way, but I think the root of the problem is when it comes to this place.

    1. None of your images on the screen are visible.

2 Apple should have these - provide https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/ to you who are for El Capitan.

    3. 2015 macs do not have a USB key. They use an internal partition called OSXRESERVED to install Windows.

4 280Gib vs 300 GB is due to the two different definitions of a gigabyte is by drive manufacturers and computer manufacturers. Don't worry, you don't lose bytes of the physical/flash disk.

  • How to return to windows installer? Bootcamp

After my bootcamp partition, the computer has been restarted with the windows installer. I got to the part that says select partition to install windows. I read the message that he is not the right format requires NTFS. Well, I clicked format and it made me nervous because he said that he would erase everything. So I closed out of the installer to see after some research, I actually just click on the format button. My question is, is there anyway I can go back to where I run the windows 10 installation to install or I have to delete my bootcamp partition and completely from the beginning.

It depends on your year/model of Mac. If a USB Installer has been created or a DVD has been used, there is no need to recreate the partition. In the case of 2015 Mac, you need to remove the partition and recreate. Please create a partition of sufficient size (about 50-60GB) to avoid future problems.
