Windows 7 Pro - unidentified network domain PC connected Via Ethernet

Hello - we have several machines Windows 7 is joined to our domain.  Recently when move us a PC from one place in the building to the other and connect them to wired ethernet, they get the 'unidentified network' and it shows as 'public '.  If plug back us them on their original network node, it works very well and finds the network, no problem.

I did all the deforestation of the intellectual property, the command netsh, updated drivers, etc., but does not know what is happening.  Nothing has changed on the switches.  If I move a Windows XP computer, it works as expected.

Thanks for your help!

  • Windows 7 indicates "unidentified network".

    Hi all

We have a strange problem and I was wondering if anyone of you has a solution for it:

We have about 60-70 PCs of Windows7 on a network of unique working group, all PC affect IP via DHCP addresses. Sometimes, some of the PC connection shows "unidentified network". We have tried to disable the Bonjour service as stated in some articles online, but nothing helped.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

  • New installation on windows 7 pro 64-bit sees not connected wired Officejet 6500 E710a-f

    Hello!

New installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a gigahertz 3.40 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 with 8 GB of ram. Printer drivers worked on the same bench while he was running as Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
After only install FF, AVG, and Acrobat (almost a clean install), downloaded the software HP Officejet full feature and pilot 2012-10-22, Version: 116,98, 28.8 M - OJ6500_E710n - z_1315.exe and tried to install the Officejet 6500 E710a f.

The printer has a manually set static IP and can be ping from the host. Clean Windows Firewall is disabled and stopped.

The web interface using the IP address of the printer comes with all the features works on FF.
Network status shows connected with IP address, hostname and Mac.

However, when installing the network audit is no ethernet connection. Even manually enter his public static IP address or hostname does not solve the problem.

Try the USB, the same question option. I see in Device Manager under other devices HPOfficejet 6500 and 6500 HPOfficejet - Fax with a blue questionmark.
(In the same "other devices" there are 2 Officejet 6500 with a yellow exclamation point - probably from failed network installation).

In the printers and devices window, the 6500 is displayed with the correct thumbnail, but with a yellow exclamation point icon. Law and by selecting the convenience store, Windows comes up with the message that no driver is installed and offers a solution.  The correction ends with the error that no drivers not found for the FAX. Re-apply the patch never finds the driver.

Anyone who has met something similar (and a solution)?

    Thanks for any help!

    Jack

After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
Back at each stage, I noticed that I was not using the correct driver! For some reason I D/L the pilot E710n which is for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One.
Whatever the difference, when installing the E710n for the model does not detect the printer, or via USB or Ethernet.
After you download the right driver for the E710a - f HP Officejet 6500 a e-All-in-One Printer (OJ6500_E710a - f_1315.exe) installation perfectly finished in a few minutes and everything goes well...

You would think, base or USB connectivity network should not be dependent on the specific differences sub-model. I was expecting that a bad driver interrogate the device after finding its IP address and display an error message with useful text.

    Hello

Thanks for coming with a concern for Windows in the Microsoft Community!

The computer windows 7 home can not access the main window 7 computer pro.

    1. What is the type of network that the computers are connected to?

    2. How are you trying to access the computer, is using \\ip_or_name\?

To make sure that the settings are appropriate. See the following links for the same:

  • Windows 7 can not 'see' Windows XP Pro on network

Hello. I'm trying to share files on a XP Pro SP3 system with a Windows7 machine. I can ping W7 from XP. I can't ping XP from W7. If I boot XP in safe mode with setting in network, everything works fine. See the following topics:

    Windows 7 Pro SP1 (W7)

    IP ADDRESS: a.b.c.d / 255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY: a.b.c.g
    WORKING GROUP: DBCPA
    NAME: Inspiron560

    Windows XP Pro SP3 (XP)

    IP ADDRESS: a.b.c.e / 255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY: a.b.c.g
    WORKING GROUP: DBCPA
    NAME: Powerspec

    (1) started normally XP:

    On XP: Ping successful a.b.c.d
    Ping successful inspiron560

    On W7: Ping Timeout a.b.c.e
    Powerspec ping Timeout

    (2) XP booted safe mode with networking (same user):

    On XP: Ping successful a.b.c.d
    Ping successful inspiron560

    On W7: Ping successful a.b.c.e
    Ping successful powerspec

    -Help!

The problem is in Norton 360 on the XP box. Enabling the address IP of W7 being approved has solved the problem.

  • Windows 7 (pro?) will not be connected to the non - Internet

Summary: We do a workshop where we have set up a private network that is not connected to the Internet. We have a fleet of laptops (11 of them) that connect through an open wifi router. The router provides DHCP, and there is also a web server and database on the network server.

We have laptops with Windows XP and Linux, as well as the Chromebook and Macs. Connect regularly and reliably. However, we had three different Windows 7 laptops of three completely different companies with the same problem. They will connect at first, but then get into a never-ending display of 'limited internet access' cycle, disconnection and reconnection.

All three of these laptops work very well on all other wireless networks. One of the laptops is Win7 Ultimate 64-bit (not sure the others). Now, this laptop used to work perfectly, but still has this problem. Some other Windows 7 laptops have worked in the past.

Computers portable Win7 will connect and work very well with a wired connection.

Then... It is not a problem with the router or the network, since any computer non-Win7 laptop works perfectly. The router is started fees at each workshop, and the problem persists, but * only * on some Windows 7 laptops.

It is probably not a problem of drivers or virus, given that laptops work fine on other networks.

We tried to adjust our network "Preferred" and "Connect automatically" in Win7 - no joy.

Windows 7 has a certain logic that causes the disconnection of a wireless network if he does not have an Internet connection?

    Separated from this thread.

The installation is successful, in my case; However, when I try to use the function search I get an error message 'No internet connection' and close the search window.

As this solution is supposed to be a local, I am at a loss as to what is happening. Streaming movies works btw, so I don't have an Internet connection available and functional.

  • Windows 8 Pro 64 bit not start nVidia nForce Ethernet driver after Windows Update

    Hello

A couple of days, I installed Windows 8 Pro on my nForce 570 SLI with two ethernet interfaces integrated and an AMD processor and it seems to work very well. But then I installed all updates from Windows Update and now the ethernet drivers will not start. They worked very well until I did Windows Update facilities. I mean, otherwise I would not be able to do the Windows Update.

Pilots initially in service to those who came with the installation of Windows 8 Pro. As a solution I forced the driver installation from the package of drivers nForce 15,58 for Windows 7 64 bit, but no change.

The messages I get when making a diagnosis of Windows network is:
    Problems found
The "Ethernet" adapter does not work correctly
The 'Ethernet' knows of driver or hardware-related problems.

The same messages for 'Ethernet 2 '.

I was not able to find related reports in the event viewer

    Could someone help me please?

    Best regards
    LaurentZG

    Hello Manu,

Thank you very much for your support.

By chance, I found a post over in the Asus forum where a few other guys had the same problem. One of them stated that the specific ethernet chip has been sensitive to static electricity. If a light bulb then where I thought I should try to carry out the motherboard. So I unplugged the power cord and press the power button on my computer for about 30 seconds. Problem solved. Connection to the network is in use again :)

    Best regards

  • Time Capsule connected via Ethernet and put in place as an extension to my Airport Extreme Base Station wireless.  'Disc' Time Machine use?

If my Time Capsule is connected by ethernet to my Mac, Time Machine uses this connection or the wireless connection?

It depends on the order of connection of your Mac. If your Mac has been defined first connect using Ethernet if an Ethernet connection is present, then the Mac will save over Ethernet, even if the WiFi is enabled on the Mac.

However, if your Mac has WiFi to connect first and WiFi is on... then the Mac connects using WiFi, even if an Ethernet connection exists.

To see the binding command or service so that your Mac is using...

Open the preferences system (gear on the dock icon)

    Open network

Click on the gear at the bottom of the list of connection icon

    Click the Set Service command

If you want to make sure that your Mac will always connect to Ethernet first, even if WiFi is turned on... then you want to make sure that Ethernet appears at the top of the service order.  If this isn't the case, drag it to the top. Click OK, and then click apply at the bottom right of the window.

Another simple method to ensure that the backups will be produce by Ethernet is simply disable WiFi on Mac and let up to that you unplug the Ethernet cable, date at which you would be back on WiFi

    Hello

I am trying to run the example project of USRP FPGA on a USRP-2940R connected to a PC windows using Ethernet. I have not made any changes to the FPGA VI or screw host and I'm tryign to run the host Rx in Streaming, VI. This who should I be specifying the address of device in this case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LabVIEW FPGA on Ethernet is only available through LabVIEW RT. Behind the scenes of the target is still connected to the well RT via PCIe controller and then the RT controller is connected to the host via Ethernet. There are also some USB LabVIEW FPGA targets (http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14821/en/).

For the RIO USRP, MXIe is currently the only bus taken in charge for LabVIEW FPGA.

  • Fusion 3.0.1 + Windows 7 Pro + Bridged Networking w/manual settings = networking questions

    Hello

I've been using VMWARE products for many years, and while I'm not an expert, I can tell you it's smelly.

I installed Windows 7 4 times today and all with the same result, networking is not working properly.  I can connect to and do what I want on the internet, but this fake windows to connect to the network thingy is HORRIBLE, didn't they try to repair windows 7?  quiet quiet quiet

So no matter what I try... networking is not working properly.

The only way I can get a temporary switch between bridge and NAT, then packed fix works for a little bit.  I can't even run windows update.

Vista, 2008, XP, SBS, and many other OS work very well.  It's just 7... If vmware, you have a bug.  I have tried this on both my MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and even my Hackintosh... still occur.  Windows 7 RC... work, this is the final version that does not work.

I'm very pleased to add network works, better with DHCP... manual settings do not work.  It creates a problem with the DNS system.

As I was going crazy with this problem, I decided to compare my WinXP.vmx, with access Internet works ok and Windows7.vmx file. The ethernet0.* lines are identical with the EXCEPTION of:

    ethernet0.linkStatePropagation.enable line.

In Win XP that I set to 'FALSE' and Windows 7 are set to 'TRUE '.

I changed the value false in Win7 and after 3 hours of surfing I have more problems, I hope he stays this way without any

side effect. Hope this help other people with the same problem

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.

These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    ------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

    ----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

    ---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

    ---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.
