Windows 7 SP1 "Configuration failed Service Pack"

I get on "Service Pack Setup failure" when I try to load to my PC Windows 7 Premium SP1.  I looked towards the top of patches and all the things suggested in the following response to someone else have done it:

1. According to your architecture of Windows 7, download / install and run Update Readiness Tool - CheckSur theSystem you can download the toolfrom the links below depending on your system type.     Download the preparation tool update system (64-bit) download the update tool (32-bit)

2. Click Start type cmd (you should see the command prompt fill up) right click and select run as administrator inside the prompt, type sfc/scannow * for more information about File Checker theSystem.  * If corruption is found, see how to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot system missing or corrupt files on Windows Vista or Windows 7.

3. once the SFC is finished, check your hard disk for errors.

4 restart the system update readiness tool. If errors have been eliminated, try to reinstall Service Pack 1. If this is not the case, go to step 5.

5. perform a startup repair, at startup, try to install the Service Pack.

All steps don't return absolutely no error in my system.  I also disabled my firewall and antivirus in all attempts (7).  I have 2 other PC's (both with 64 bit versions of Windows 7) and SP1 installed on them without any problems.

What's next?

UPDATE:

I tried to install it in Mode safe mode twice.  Had the same error.

The error message itself is: ERROR_EVT_CONFIGURATION_ERROR (0x80073aa2)

My system drive is a (256 GB) SSD if it would make a difference.

ANOTHER UPDATE:

I found another site with suggestions on how to load the MS.

http://www.PAGESTART.com/win7sp1steps021611.html

I followed these tips and still have the same error message.

Hello Wkramer,

Thank you for your message.

If all the above steps give no results, the next logical step is to perform an InPlace upgrade.

An upgrade on the spot is the final solution before you have to reinstall the operating system.

* Note it takes the same amount of time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

How to perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD. It also requires the installation of all the updates that are not included on the installation DVD.

* Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

To perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, follow these steps:

1. close all running applications.

2. Insert the Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 DVD
in the DVD drive of the computer.

3. in the settings window, click install now.

Note if Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:

1. Click Start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the theStart search box.

Note the placeholder is assigned is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.

2. in the list programs, clickSetup.exe.

3. in the settings window, click install now.

Click go online to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).

Type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.

In the "Windows Installer" page select the operating system you want to update or Inplace.

Click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.

On the which type of installation you want? of the screen, click upgrade.

Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.

Please see: How to perform an upgrade in Place on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2

We can't wait to hear back on your part.

See you soon

No, it means that you are misunderstand any error message you see.  There is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.  All reputable antivirus meant for Windows XP software will install on Windows XP service pack 3.  If you have problems to install antivirus software, your computer may already be infected.

You must install one antivirus resident program.  Do not install the Avast and AVG; Choose a.  You can have other anti-malware of on demand software.  The best of them is MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free).

If you would like more information, please proceed as follows:

1 display the full text, without paraphrasing, of any error message you get when you try to install a software of your choice.

    2. after the URL (link) of the Web site from which you downloaded the antivirus installation package.

    3. click on start, then run, then type the following command in the "Open" box and click OK

    Msinfo32.exe

When the windows of Information System fills, click on edit, and then click Select all. Click on edit, then click on copy.  Then paste (CTRL + V), the copied data in your response here.

    Hello

My labtop is hp nc6000. I have upgraded to windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 1 and I can't connect to the internet.

I used another computer desktop to download service pack 2 and 3, but still cannot install these due to no internet connection.

I also tried to upgrade the drivers of hp nc6000 obtained from another computer, but received a message that the package cannot be decompressed - another copy must be obtained.

    Please help with kindness.

    Thank you.

Are you trying to connect wireless or ethernet cable? Have you checked your connections are enabled? If you use the wireless option, you use the hp or windows connection manager?

I sugest you try to connect with an ethernet cable and go to the network connection in Control Panel and check if your local connection is enabled. If you connect through a router has the DHCP settings.

If you use the wireless you will need to enter the connection as a new SSID and key details

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
